I don't know if this really fits in the discussion, but there's something flying around about, "Improving a vault into the moon." Forgive me if this isn't really applicable. I made this run nine years ago, before the tiers came out. When tiers were implemented, it was automatically assigned Vault, according to its user ratings. Just this last week, someone improved one level in it by six seconds, and left almost all the rest untouched. Look what tier it's in.

I ask this in the expectation that I will not receive an answer, but here goes. Why are you so focused on the Japanese dub anyway, Pikachuman?

Also, Ti linked to this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C65w1cXKG3o The selfish part of me wonders how much influence I had here.

This looks good! It's nice to see an updated run of Samurai Pizza Cats :-) It's a fairly small margin of improvement, which makes the old run more impressive. It is a shame that you have to take so much time in the last stage to get 2 Ninpo powerups. However, the route looks good. It's a surprisingly simple shortcut in Stage 6. One question: in Stage 5 (I think), you dig upwards with one cat before switching back to Batcat. You dig a little bit to the left of the breakable rocks. Why didn't you dig upwards at the edge of the dirt, right next to the breakable rocks?
note: I've only made improvement with stage6, old movie was written by Ferret. So, I don't know about his tactic.
This leads me to ask: how much of this run was copied directly from my old run? I ask, because outside that one section in level 6, it looks identical to mine. I thank you for pointing out my ignorance in that one section, but if all you did was edit in that one improvement, I'm afraid I'll have to insist on co-authorship at the very least. In terms of other improvements, I think there are some sections I switch to Batcat a little early on, leading me to lose time on some ladders; however, we're talking one frame per ladder, so it's pretty insignificant. Anyway, to answer the question at hand: I only needed to move to the right for one frame to clear the dirt; digging where I did allows me time to move forward while winding up Catton's punch to break the block. Also, the rapid dig technique seen later in the run might be a tad slower here, because it slows running speed down a bit, and that's a looong piece of dirt to dig through that way. I honestly never tested it. In short: Good job finding the improvement, but please give credit where credit is due, and holy crap is my run really nine years old now?! Edit: Okay, I just noticed you altered the beginning of level 7 a bit: you flinched at the very start. Was there a reason for this?

I can personally vouch that Rescue at Midnight Castle is surprisingly good.

Looks like I'll have to practice my Kirchoff then. It's just that it almost seems like you'd end up getting currents flowing in opposite directions. I'll look further into it. Either way, thanks for the response.

Maybe in relation to everything else in that post, but it was certainly pertinent to the one part that I quoted, no?

Question about electrical circuitry. Hopefully something simple for you folks. This guide for Taco's boiler zoning valves has something that is screwing with my brain. Specifically, the section "Wiring Note" on page 3. What are the principles in action that allow two separate power sources to not interact, as though they are two separate circuits, when they are connected at a common point?

Because it is very important that we English speakers know the airing schedule of this cartoon in a country whose language we do not speak.

Seems like they also replicated C64 developers' uneasiness at having their music drop out due to sound effects, and thus forcing players to choose between Sounds Only and Music Only.

The thing I love most is how the game ends by summoning a T-rex to do battle with Shuma Gorath.

I think there's more solid ground in the first two levels than was featured in all of the cartoons combined.

At 9:30, American TV network MeTV plays Happy Days. Ordinarily, they air shows in the same order they originally aired, but last night, they silently changed plans and aired the episode that introduced the world to Mork. This news, more than almost any other celebrity death I remember, saddens me the most. He truly was fun.

Minor: I currently have Autofire set for 2 on, 17 off. Whenever I press and hold an autofire button, then load a state, it will hold the button for a random amount of time after the state loads before going back to the set pattern.

I remember, years ago, starting to put together a speedrun for this game. I finished up to two levels, but quit because I decided that the level layouts after that were too similar to be fun to watch. Thank you for showing me just how wrong I was.

So, this past weekend, I went to Bronycon. No, no, I didn't attend. I stood outside to gawk and take pictures. Here's a sampling. Keep in mind these were taken on my cell phone, which doesn't have a very good camera, and it was pretty cloudy that day. Also, I wanted to be discreet, so it's mostly backshots you'll see. First, a little evidence that I was there. This and two other stickers attached to the sidewalk appeared to be the only markings at the convention center indicating what was going on inside. Well, aside from all the weirdos milling about. I caught a glance of the girl on the left just as I was pulling into the parking lot. That was perhaps the most stressful parking I ever had to do, because I had to pay for my parking, and I didn't want to loose track of her. As I was following her, I passed by a couple of women who seemed to be in their 40's with their phones in Sailor Fluttershy's direction. Yeah, they too were getting pictures of the "interesting sites." I'm a little sad the face got obscured by the glass. One fairly popular thing there was shoulder ponies. I meant to get a picture of the dude with Twilicorn on his head, but instead it turned into a generic group shot. There's another guy with a toy for a hat, but I forget which character it was. And by far the strangest thing I saw there was this guy. You can't see the front, so I'll have to let you know he had a short but thick beard, and the shirt was cut low enough so you could see that he had a very hairy chest. I can understand the zebra hat he had on but put on the ground when I took the shot, and I can get the zebra striped pants. But the broad heeled stilletos? Why? I'm pretty sure I don't want to know. And that's all I was able to get. I would've taken more, but there was no way I could've taken some while being discreet, plus I was only there for 20 minutes before I got called into work. Also, I saw a few while driving around. Other things I saw there: The first sight I had after pulling into town was a 15 year old girl with a bright pink wig, a black jacket, and pink leggings. Typical enough, but what made me laugh was her mother walking alongside her, with a look that expressed, "I can't believe I'm doing this." Some dude dressed as Discord, surpisingly close to how I imagined someone dressed as Discord would look like. I took a picture, but it didn't turn out. A guy in a ranger hat with a Pinkie Pie wig and tail sticking out from beneath his hat and coat, respectively. An overweight chick with a purple wig, white miniskirt, and purple fishnet stockings. At least Sailor Fluttershy was a good looking form of "thick"; this one had no business being in that outfit. What I presume was a dude - it was fairly ambiguous - in an outfit that closely resembled the Statue of Liberty, but the crown had a single horn on it, and the whole outfit was twilight purple in color. A fat white guy with a CMC cape and, of all things, a GIR beanie. An Asian kid in what was obviously an Octavia getup who carried a guitar around. I wish I had snapped a photo of him, or even better, a video of him playing. And a bunch of other people who clearly don't spend enough time outside. Overall, though, it didn't appear to be too bad. I might actually be fun if I attended with, say, my brother's family, all of whom are very into the show.

This happened to me after I decided I was done recording for the evening, set my movie to Read Only, and tried reloading a earlier state to review my work, something I had done many, many times without incident. Edit: Nevermind, it seems the save state itself became corrupted somehow.

A cheap game loosely based on a movie that capitalized on one of the great tragedies of the modern world. How lovely. Seems like it's based very heavily on the Harry Potter game.

So, I'm a complete ignoramous about this. How can I go about fixing it? The thing with the config file is weird. I coulda sworn I told the thing to copy over everything.

Is it considered "normal" that trying to use Turbo speed does not increase speed, but instead cuts the audio out? This is for NES titles, no clue about anything else.

Okay, there is an understandable gap in communication here. I'm not saying, "Here's a Power Ponies game from The Hub, imagine taking this and releasing it as a full game." I'm saying, "It'd be neat if someone were to get licensed to make a pony game, and used it to make a Power Ponies title (and by the way, here's a flash game from The Hub that made me think this)."
