Mostly idle curiosity, born around 14-15 years ago when I first learned about the hyperbolic functions and was disappointed that they couldn't be used to trace a hyperbolic motion in the same way the trigs can for a circular path. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I finally was able to put what I wanted in the form of an equation. Yeah, I'm a little slow.

And here I was, after reading pwner's post, trying to use the tangent and secant functions for g and f and ended up with an even more convoluted integral. Thanks for the help, guys. Just FYI, The question that inspired this was, What two functions will trace an object moving along a hyperbolic path at a constant rate, much like how the trig functions trace a steady circle?

"Ordinary differential equations," it would seem. This seems like a good time to ask a question that has been bugging me for a long time, but I have no clue how to approach it, since I am no good at differential equations. I am looking for two functions, f(x) and g(x), such that f2 - g2 = 1 (f')2 + (g')2 = 1 All I can figure is that lim f' = lim g' = √(2)/2 as x-> inf, but that's only on an intuitive level, nothing rigorous. If it helps, f(0) = 1, g(0) = 0

My feelings precisely! I was expecting to hear some Follin-esque arpeggios, but instead it's something a 1st generation NES developer would be ashamed to show off.

I also want to point out that this year will be Bronycon's last. Attendance peaked in 2015 with over ten thousand attendees, but it's been in a decline since. My guess is that they want to end it while they are still somewhat relevant. I kind of agree that season 3 did a lot of damage. I witnessed the surge of fans that came between 1 and 2, but then the combination of Princess Twilight and Equestria saw a mass exodus*. Mostly, though, I picked up a sense of ennui around season 5-6. My guess is that the novelty of being an adult that liked a girl's show was starting to wear off, that there was nowhere else to go with it. Let's not forget that the whole brony thing was a practical joke that got out of hand. As an aside, I want to mention that EQD ran a poll of its users not too long ago, and most of them responded as using "pornygraphic" material. An interesting development, considering most people in the early days I thought found that gross. *Since the people who stayed behind with these two things liked or tolerated them, you'd get a false impression that both were popular if you asked the existing fans.

Oh my heck, this is so much better to watch when 2/3 of the game isn't lag!

It is very likely that the title is a reference to the famous last line spoken in King Kong.

Does watching OG Dragon Ball count for this thread?

If we had another E Tank, we would use it at one of these pits for another major skip. But we have only one E Tank, and it saves more time in Volt Man's stage than it would in this stage. We could farm a second E Tank in Sonic Man's stage (the only other E Tank in the game is in the middle of Volt Man's stage), but it would take more time to do that than it would save here (I think).
How easy is it to exit a completed level? Does the E tank reappear on death?

An ever growing number of segments, each of diminishing lengths. A TAS is an integral.

I could be mistaken, but I remember the QFG4 combat not relying much on the RNG*. I think the better question is if the wraith can be dealt with before it kills you from being near it without protection. *Contrast with QFG1, which I am playing through; the combat in that game (the EGA one at least) is awful

So, is this meant to be a 3D attempt at the Worms games?

I didn't understand much of what he was talking abaout, but I did find it interesting that he admitted that his proof may be weak/incomplete since it requires choice. But yeah, until other mathematicians have had a chance to pick this apart, I will take this with a grain of salt.

Honestly, the worst part about this is Lilo's awkward running animation.

So I was with Edward Elric for whatever reason, spending the night at some dude's house. He had us set up in the basement, but warned us that he has a water leak somehwhere in the ceiling that needs to be fixed. He had a hole in said ceiling where the water was dripping out of, and a bucket under it to catch the water. As the evening progressed, neither of us could get any sleep because the leak kept getting worse and worse, and the splashing in the bucket louder and louder. Eventually I decided to pop my head up in the ceiling, and noticed that there was a lot of water pooling up between the rafters. I told Ed that we're going to need to drain the celing before it collapses on us and our host has bigger problems. Ed then had a knowing look on his face, turned his hand into a crossbow, and fired at a spot on the celing near the door going outside. Where the bolt hit the ceiling, a large, fleshy mass - think humanoid without the skin - flopped out onto the floor. Turns out that Edward has an evil twin brother named Maccheus, and he manifests himself in these ways. Apparently that wasn't water but bodily fluids. Details are fuzzy right around here. Words were exchanged, Ed did something, Maccheus was killed/expelled/disappeared. Popped my head back up into the ceiling. Everything was bone dry.
