Are you maybe thinking about Gun Force? A really terrible game, by the way, but I'm pretty sure you could control vehicles at some point.
That's the one! Thank you! ...Wait, terrible? I don't think so, Tim. Try playing the arcade version. So, now it's just that space shooter...

Extra info on that Contra clone: Apparently you could temporarily man certain vehicles and turrets.

It sounds like Probotector. The european version of Contra.
It wasn't. It was a clone, not a re-skinning. Everyone was human. I need to get Shadowbyrn on to describe it, he played it more than I did.

My brother and I were talking last night, and there are a couple of games we played at a laundromat all the time as kids, but can't remember the name of. The first is a top down space shooter. There are four weapons: Default, Type A (a stream of electricity), Type B (a wide spread gun), and Type C (a narrow spread with two cross-things that would fly around the screen, dealing damage). Each weapon came with it's own type of bomb, and were upgraded by letting time pass without dying. The other was a Contra clone. It is so much a Contra clone that, although I remember the game clearly, I can't describe it very much without describing Contra as well. The single biggest difference is that your characters look more like Master Chief, and I don't think aliens figured into the plot. Perhaps he can provide more details...

Oh, hey, I've finally been picked as part of a promotional! I can now leave the community satisfied*. Not bad, and it is nice to have an updated promotional video. However, I better liked how the older one was organized. What I think could improve the movie a bit is to have it categorized when you hit the "There are those" part. For instance, when it says, "There are those who refuse the follow the rules," show clips from the glitched Zelda 2 and the Woodman stage and such. "Those who refuse to accept the word 'impossible'" would be followed by clips of Mario 64 and some other things. I also think it would be kinda nice to have each clip be accompanied by a music-video-style blurb in the corner concerning author, game title, system, and time. But whatever. I liked it. Also, what was that game right after my Metroid 2 segment? It wasn't listed in the credits. *Isn't actually leaving

I recently found this glitch out, I don't know how I found it or how to do it. I was playing with my brothers and we went through a door passage, the one where when you enter it, it shifts upwards, (or down, left, right, whatever) and I think one of us held down, and another one held up, I wasn't quite sure, and before we knew it, we were shifting screens, we were going through walls and passages and such. I would like to see this glitch being put into action. Careful though, when we stopped at a wall, we were stuck into the wall, so we used a magic rope to get ourselves out.
About amonth ago, I participated in a three player campaign, and we did this in Gaia's Navel. Or wherever the dwarves are. So add this post as a second witness. Fortunately it didn't place us in a bad position. I'll have to contact a friend about it, see if he remembers any more particulars.

I suppose I should update this topic... Yeah, it's been a good long while without any progress reports. I got up to the boat section of level 3 before I decided I needed a break. Playing games in frame advance for several months can get a little tiring, ya know? I just wanted to play games in real time for a bit, so I ended up distracting myself. Unfortunately, my computer is currently packed up, so I won't be able to pick this run up any time soon. I promise I'll get it done. Someday... Xipo: Glad you enjoyed what I had.

I googled "turtle" and "ferret" together to see if I could get a picture of a turtle and a ferret together. Instead I got this.

I would suggest the second chapter of 2nd Nephi in the Book of Mormon for that. In short: all things have their opposites, so in order to know happiness, one must know misery as well. That is at least one reason why God would permit suffering.

I have a similar question. Is it okay to use a built-in level select code to skip the title screen? In Tails' Sky Patrol, for instance, I can save 120 frames that would otherwise be wasted waiting at the title screen if I use the level select code.
Well, in my honest opinion, go ahead. >_>

Uh... Thank you? At least here, Ardy didn't pretend to be about "attitude" like other animal mascots of the era. Rather refreshing. Although this being my seventh contribution to my Animal Planet list undermines certain claims I make about myself...

I was surprised by the whining; you made this game look good.
That's the problem: it looks good. It's like a good-looking VW Bug, but with engine problems that are quite annoying. I'm rather amused at the number of people who found the main character creepy. I'm glad you all enjoyed this. ;P

First, I loved this program when I was a kid. Second, I just realized one feature that I miss (that isn't necessarily an IRC function) is the auto-screencapping for various submissions and would kinda like to see it return. I can, however, understand if it doesn't due to reliability, implementation, and storage issues.

Hmm... That was more fun to watch than I thought it would have been. (this was the game that finally convinced me that there are no good games on the Master System/Game Gear) Crap, my left hand is killing me from too much keyboard use. :(

AFAIK, it means, "As Far As I Know." Nice, the ship was definitely more fun to watch. However, what happened to the death bug? Did that turn out to be slower? :I

I'll say this much: two of my runs use a cheat code to skip half the game. A half that would have been repeated, but it's still a half that was skipped with cheats.

Could you upload it to Youtube? I'd be more than happy to give you feedback, but I'm not the emu-expert here.
Unfortunately... 1) I've tried encoding this many times already, and all but one attempt desynched on me. For the one successful encode, Youtube didn't like something about the codec I was using and looked like it barfed all over it. 2) I'm not really seeking feedback about the run itself, but compatibility with the YMV. The run is too insubstantial at this point to warrant any feedback; I just want to know how it runs on others' computers. I hope you understand.
