Huh, sorry. Don't know how I missed that. I checked the first page, but didn't see it.

Wasn't the previous run rejected for being too boring using this trick? If so, what's gonna keep the run with this new cursor trick from being rejected?

....you'd be interested in a TAS of Campaign Mode ALAKTORN? Rolanman already said he might do it, but I was just wondering about you.

Hm. I guess the better question would be, for the first one, what are all the errors that the Faq contains? Just in formulas? It's not like you have to look at every individual monster and point out how off some of the stats are.

I personally would love to see a run through of this game on TAS. Also, you guys are aware of those super trousers that radically boost every stats and even your HP that you can find as an enemy drop near the end of the game, right? These are the pants for the Mario Brothers... Supreme Slacks -------------- +30 HP +30 Power +150 Defense +30 Speed +30 Stache ...and these are the pants for the Mario Babies... 100-Point Pants --------------- +20 HP +20 Power +100 Defense +20 Speed +20 Stache I don't know if this helps or not. Thought it might help with the problem you have of being too fragile to deal with Elder Princess Shroob in a timely way. The Supreme Slacks are won from Shroobsworths, and the 100-point pants are gained from Shroob Rexes.

So, I checked, and I haven't quite found my answer. What's the reasoning behind the new team?

Cool. Now, two other questions I have. 1) What formula determines how much damage that magic does? I've heard the formula was off on a few details. 2) Is there any practical way of predicting how enemies move on the map, or how to manipulate it without using tools? I'd like to know all this for a friend of mine who's doing a speed run of this game, PJ. Thanks for answering my questions, and taking the time to read them.

Does anybody have any interest in doing a Hard Mode run of this?

Could you please post your route so far? If you don't mind. I'm not sure if it's an unwritten rule or something to ask for the runner to post his route before finishing the run, so if it is, I apologize. I ask, because I can't quite figure out how to get your dehacked rom thing to work. I've read the explanation given in this thread, however, I'm having a hard time visualizing exactly what to do. I know I need to download the rom of this game, however, I don't know what exact option to click once I'm on the VBA menu. And, can I even use the VBA emulator? Or do I need to download a GB only emulator?

Hey, how do I watch the tool assisted run Calculus posted? I don't seem to have anything that can run it.

Anybody out there who has even the faintest idea about how to go about this? It seems like this game has good speed running potential, and it'd definetly be interesting to see this monster taken down like The 7th Saga was. The only thing is, how would you manipulate the cards you gain? What Antes most guarantee you cards of high value?

Yo Kirkq, the Game Mechanics Faq doesn't have an exact understanding of the running formula. Could you please tell me what it is?

Yo, Kirkq, what's the correct damage formula for magic attacks? I've heard the Game Mechanics Faq on Gamefaqs was off on a few details.

I don't want to use save states though. Maybe I should phrase it like this. Does the game go out of its way to keep you from getting the Moon crests like it does with the Sun and Star crests?

By the way, guys, how did you manipulate the Slots?

That one requires you to have a hexidecimal calculator, which doesn't work for me. Anyways, I already found the name I wanted. In any case, if you guys find out anything about the mechanics, please tell me, ok?

Which names can the hero choose that makes Midenhall be named Esgar/Glynn and Moonbrooke Varia/ Elani?

Has anyone figured out any of the formulas to this game? I checked the topic, and the most promising thing I found was the "dehacked link", but it won't work for me.

So what you mean is... 1) Pausing may affect the RNG that determines enemy movement or... 2) Pausing won't affect the RNG, but it will at least give you time to plan your movement... Which of the two do you mean?

I still want to know one thing. Is it possible to somehow manipulate the enemy movement paths so you can dodge them?

Are there are values that will never change even when I restart a change over and over again, like enemy attack patterns?

Are you saying there might actually be a way for me to manipulate the RNG even in a legit run?
