Good to know. If at all possible, try to redo the other ones that apparently succumbed to link rot (as mentioned by feos a few posts previously - the third one on the list is the only one with a link still working). :)

I don't think there will be many people that care about anything that doesn't break a console verification, but that's just my two cents here. :P

Boy, I'm surprised our blue bomber hero didn't get dizzy from all that high-speed spinning flight! :P A lot of the roughness of the original Rock Man/Mega Man 3 was simply the consequence of behind-the-scenes trouble (in particular a rushed development cycle that lead to a LOT of stuff being cut out), so a hack that can bring it up to the quality standards of Mega Man 2 is definitely a worthwhile effort. I am disappointed that the Breakman battles in the Robot Master stages aren't here, but that blame is on the hack's creator, not the TASer of the run. Yes vote!

Oh goodie, a "blind cut-and-paste from an LLM" description - I wondered if those would show up here eventually. Granted, the translation is competent, but STILL... (rolls eyes)

While I certainly can respect Z-Team's passion and programming skills for the Genesis/Megadrive, unfortunately a Barbarian port was one of those ventures that looked a lot better on paper than it did as an actual game to play...

A gloriously-broken game gets a gloriously-WTF-inducing TAS that amounts to causing a game-ending glitch through overflowing the parser memory space!

Reaction after reading the game's title: "Oh great, some kind of licensed dreck involving those annoying Minion things... (rolls eyes)" Reaction after watching the TAS: "Huh, it's like a 21st century version of Lemmings, somehow..." Vote: Yes. :)

Spoilers ahoy: 2 minutes: "Press to save Princess!" message 5 minutes: Autoscrolling or conveyor floor 10 minutes: "Rainbow switch" fakeout 15 minutes: Music stops temporarily. 30 minutes: "Best ending"/"congratulations" screens before being dumped back into the game.

Love that "!" that appears on the tenth loop, as if the game itself is surprised you got this far. (Incidentally, it seems like every trick in the TAS could be theoretically reproduced by human players to use for breaking score records as well given the timed nature of the screen bonuses; the 150K-ish score you would be ending with beats the current TG record on console.) I wonder if that "!" would appear in the score counter if you hit a million points ... anyway, I'm rambling. Yes vote. :)

I'd love to see a TAS of the arcade machine this game was originally released as. Or the Atari 2600/VCS port, which is arguably a harder version of the game given it has a bug where the fuel timer starts counting down at the start of a new level before you can even move!

(now wonders out loud if the third coin in "Dear Nostalgists" just hasn't been found yet) (recommends poking through the memory map of the level to double check before running away really fast) :)

For a very minor time cost, Marcia also had the opportunity to get the Silver Blade, the highest raw damage non forged weapon Ike (and Tanith) will have access to until the Ragnell. I ended up not using it at all in the TAS.
How minor a time cost is this? Would it be worth trying to see if resyncing RNG won't swallow up any potential timesave?

"Potential TASVideos Podcast"? "Potential TASVideos YouTube/Twitch Show"? We already have the featured TAS section on the main page, why not just build off of that? (Short video explaining why it was featured, pointing out places where someone may be able to improve on it and optionally interviewing the TAS creator about the TAS and its creation process.)

The games aren't particularly interested in historical? accuracy and sometimes just make things up to fill space, but whatever.
I don't really think anyone is going to care too much about that, especially considering what Disney did about a decade after this game was released. :P

For the "Find 10 Trollfaces" level, is there no way to skip the timer or make it count down faster?

The first game I tried to verify was actually Extra Mario Bros, but that game doesn't work on console because it doesn't set the mmc3 bank before jumping to 0x8000.
Has this been reported to the hack creator so that they have a chance to fix it on their end instead of you having to jury-rig something to get a console verification?

Is the LDM always spawned at the same place, or can it be luck manipulated?

In the next few weeks I'm hoping to have MMC1 and MMC3 dev boards up and running. A lot of recent homebrew use those.
Is there a particular reason why those dev boards seem to be in fashion for homebrewers these days?

This is very different from PC games that allow you to switch vsync on and off as an existing option. There it's perfectly valid to say that once vsync is off, high framerate is accurate and legitimate. DOS games though, just render at whatever rate they're coded to, and refresh the screen at that rate. If this game had this option, high FPS in libTAS would technically be justified. But the scummvm fast mode option is not a special thing for this game either - it's universal. It doesn't expose something hidden in the game. It just emulates it at turbo speed.
In other words, if the DOS game doesn't have an option to turn vsync off it should only be TASed at the intended in-game framerate, no ifs ands or buts about it.

Re: Music situation - is there an option to turn off the music independently of anything else? If there is, you should create an alternate file for publication that toggles the music off in-game before gameplay starts.

This means that a full game of "unselected" stages will never see the light of day :/
True, but I could also see "All Lefts" and "All Rights" runs so that stages that would normally be slower for "warpless" or "warps/fastest completion" could still be featured in well-defined alternative goal categories.
