Ok. I'm doing it. FerretFaucet did it. And this movie gets a Yes vote from me. You seem to be pretty good at making 2-player TASes like this.

Patryk1023, this submission got rejected because Wario Ware isn't a good TAS material. A TAS of this game normally looks like the best Wario Ware player in the world. A TAS must overcome this. But before I get to watch and vote, is your TAS doing what human players can't do? Like abusing some glitches and heavily manipulating luck?

The mechanics are simple, but the hard part is to try figuring out how to complete these tracks as fast as possible. I already tried to TAS Trackmania DS, and I gave up fast, while I was trying to beat the fastest time ever done by a human being, without any tools, on the first (yes, the first) track! TASing is hard, and it requires a lot of patience and determination. These are two basic things you need to become a good TASer. Sadly, I hardly have these when it comes to TASing. It needs to go well, or I have chances to give up. That's why I think I'll simply be a Publisher here (unless we get to finish that Rayman GBA TAS). If you have these two traits, no matter how hard is a project, you can do it. ---- Now, for a more specific tip about your Trackmania DS TAS. I'd suggest you start over your project, and work harder on each tracks. You need to achieve the smallest time on each track. A requirement is to beat the best unassisted record. If you submit a run without doing it, the judge will reject your submission. If you find time-saving glitches when you work on your project, exploit them. If you find any kind of shortcut on a track, use them. Do everything to achieve the smallest time possible, but don't hack the game, and don't use cheats such as Action Replay and Game Genie cheats. In fact, don't use cheats at all. Just finish these tracks as fast as possible. Use glitches and shortcuts if you find some of these. Oh, and don't forget to make a lot of save states! ---- On a side note, I played a lot of Trackmania Nations, and I do think the DS version is basically the same.

One thing you should know about TASing, is that you should beat the game faster than the best human player. http://www.vgr-fr.com/index.php5?c=jeu&id=756 These are real-time world records for this game. I'm sorry to tell you that you are far from beating each of these. It's a good thing you weren't far though.

Too bad SMB2 isn't quite well emulable in the latest Dolphin. It lacks a lot of sounds and music, while it's graphically 99% perfect. If it worked, I'd probably try TASing this game.

How does SIMG differ from IMG?
By doing some quick research I've found out SIMG automatically resizes the images to fit the screen, something that IMG doesn't.

YouTube user MDBrookman has a question for you, zidanax and dunnius. "did you not realize you could enemy boost until later in the production of the run? I'm rewatching it and it seems that way. Just curious ^_^"

Ok so there's something I don't understand. Can someone explain why this submission has a longer time than [1007] N64 GoldenEye 007 by Rising Tempest in 29:58.27? That would be useful for the publication's text.

I'm making a 1920x1440 encode for YouTube now. It should be done this week.

I've wrote a Windows dumping guide for PSXjin. You can find it at Wiki: EncodingGuide/VideoDumping. You can change what you want to change, in case there are mistakes. And I see Aktan added a TODO right at step 3. I've checked the WAV from arukAdo's Castlevania SoTN run, and it doesn't seem to have a problem. But I didn't listen to the whole thing.

Why? This is going to increase the file size substantially for a difference most people won't be able to hear.
That's exactly what I thought right before I read this. FLAC will be for the HD encode only.

I'm currently encoding this run, and learning PSXjin at the same time. Damn! This emulator is so easy to dump videos with compared to PCSX! EDIT: And I'm voting Yes for this epic run!

That having been said, I'm confused about the timing being off on the YouTube encode. The positioning issues I can understand (YouTube doesn't support advanced subtitle formats that allow for positioning), but the timing's identical to my own subtitle file and it should display correctly...
This issue is now corrected.

I think rail light gun style shooters aren't suitable for TASing. I mean, it'll surely look like a pro playing the game. A TAS is about playing better than the best human ever. I think you should consider another game. I'm afraid it would be rejected.

I can try an HD encode for YouTube tonight. But no guarantees that I'll come up with something.

Sorry, but I have to vote No as well. It lacked entertainment value. However, I'm impressed by the game itself. I didn't know Mode 7 was used in such a good way!

That's exactly what I thought. I also liked to help him with his encodes. He often asked me about various things about this. I was somehow one of his teachers. It makes me unhappy to learn he broke such a rule.
