How mush shorter would the movie be if it started from dirty SRAM (ie skippable cutscenes)?
If I remove all of these animated video cutscenes, about 13372 frames would be saved, or about 03:43.51 minutes. That's not an enormous deal.
are you serious? I remember Moth telling me the cutscenes are about 30 minutes long, and I think Epsil has sub 1 hour non-TAS with dirty SRAM
Maybe I've miscaculated, since I went pretty quick trough the video. But maybe Moth is also counting those textual cutscenes. I don't know. I think that should be redone.

Timmy, welcome to TASvideos! I have something to say As I saw the votes of the audience, I think not be accepted in TASvideos and will be part of the List Of Bad Game Choices. Voting NO
No offence, but I think it was too harsh. And do you really think it should be in the Examples of Bad Game Choices? And did you just vote No because of the votes?! But you already stated your No vote! And it was well written in English! Were you really mmarks when you posted this?

So, mmarks, how is your encode going?

Question time. Aktan just explained me in the IRC that the point of using hardsubs is to put them during action, to avoid the TASes to be stolen. After I saw that I thought.... How about our HD encodes? Why are we using softsubs for YouTube? People can download the encodes using sites like KeepVid! So, after reading this, do you think it's a good idea to use hardsubs in HD encodes as well?

Voting no due to the same reason as mentionned by mklip2001. Welcome to TASVideos Soig! And also, I had to remove "Soig" from the branch name, since this space is reserved for particular quests and/or restrictions.

We discovered the problem is the fact I'm using Windows 7 x64. So, I've installed Windows XP x86 in a virtual machine, and it works for PSX encoding. I'll do any encodes that requires .kkcapture in this VM now.

p4wn3r: I was in charge of coding (counting to Aktan too, who knows this). But I must say it was a good encoding, of course And this movie, Yes voted, for improvements of the previous movie
Anyone can make a temporary encode even if anyone claimed the official encode.

First, I did what Aktan wrote. It helped, but now, I hear random sped up sound from the game. Still no video. Then, I've unchecked "Show FPS display on startup" like BadPotato said. Same thing. And also, here is the log. Here is more information... I've got a CCD/IMG/SUB dump from Megaman X6, and I've loaded the IMG file in the TAS ISO Plugin 0.2. Does it matter?

I've tried dumping frames from PCSX using .kkcapture. I've set both emulator and .kkcapture as Aktan told me during my PSX encoding training. But it only gives a single file, a small one, with the same resolution as my screen, with nothing as video, and almost nothing (if not noise) as audio. I've tried using both the Camstudio Lossless Codec and uncompressed. Here is the stuff I've configured. EDIT: I've changed something in the graphics plugin configuration. EDIT2: Updated the sound plugin's configuration.

A good idea would be to make an iPhone/Android/Blackberry app to browse trough all of the published movies, to watch them and to vote on them on the go, but a big deal would be the encodes. I don't think they are compatible with an iPhone.

Good luck mmarks, because PSX is the hardest console to encode.

Never mind, it is out of sync, and honestly, it's either it is blended, or parts of the video are unrenderable
I'll try to render then. I could render DarkKobold's last movie by dumping each frame in a PNG file, and them put them together again. I can do this if the normal method doesn't work.

You are making an encode with both screens for publication, right? Also, it doesn't "matter" if you claim for SD, really. Other people are freely to still encode it IMO. =p
The downloadable encode is a purely classic encode, without screen zooming. I'll wait to upload it to Archive tought. And right, next time, I may encode, but other people will be able to encode as well, it's not a bad idea.

I'm against this use of AssumeFieldBased.Weave.VerticalReduceBy2. I think it will make the movie sharp, then blurry, then sharp... and in my opinion, it will look disgusting. I'd rather use AssumeFieldBased.Weave.VerticalReduceBy2 on the whole movie. I hope I'm thinking wrong, that's why I'll wait and watch your encode Flygon. If I'm thinking right and if people will agree with me, I think I'll do it, because I wouldn't want you to waste your time reencoding. And I'm also thinking of sgrunt's famous quote: "Annoy the viewer the least".

For a long TAS, this sure is entertaining. I vote Yes. The jump/dash sound is one of the most annoying sounds ever.

I'll encode this one, but not in HD, since it's a long one. EDIT: And of course, since I got positive feedback on my way to encode for [1679] DS Kirby Squeak Squad by MUGG in 36:40.54, and since the action happens on the top screen, I'll do the same for this movie.
