I would have done an ActRaiser 1 movie, but the simulation levels required more timing and randomness than I was willing to put effort in to.
You should do that movie next. Just play Professional Mode. Beat the game once, and reset (make sure to find a way to keep the completion - When I tried this, I reset and it acted like I just opened it up) I also think it should be published. While I would rather see a no-damage run, tacking the time up to 60+ for it isn't worth it. I liked how you played.

I'm re-doing my run using the parachute whenever I feel it can be used to optimize. I took a different route in 1-1, I went down instead of up, but when I used a timer, we both ended up at :28. By the time we had both finished the first "world" Frenom's run had 2:29 (from my stopping point right before 2-1 begins, maybe a frame or two before the music begins) while I had 2:26. Just an observation: - Throughout the first world, there were a lot of head-bounces that weren't required. - Your boss fight was a little slow. Particularly your first hit. He swung and you let him try to hit you for about 1/2 - 1 second before hitting him with an apple. Here's my first world video if you are interested: http://www.filespace.org/Goofyman/Aladdin__U_____.smv Oh, and I don't think the gems have a huge effect. If you got all of them, or missed 1, they might have a slight effect, but there is already a small stall between the password screen and the next world, so you have time to remember the faces of the people I presume.

This video took advantage of the quick-cape flip to go faster. I didn't like how it looked so I didn't do it, but you also optimized on a few key areas. Good job!

I was working with the PAL version, and I got to the boss of Bloodpool act 1. It's easy, but I haven't been bothered. You are right though. The enemies in Aitos are annoying...I went without being touched (Makes it look kind of cool in such a "difficult" game) but I generally have been moving forward without stopping...I can't recall a specific experience when I stopped and slashed an enemy dead (other than the bosses)

Charging into battle with a sword and not getting touched looks much cooler, anyways.

I need to know something. I have a European version of the game that has "Action Mode" from the initial start screen (No need to beat game and reset) Can anyone confirm that this is in all European roms?

I used to lose all the time in this game, but then I realized that all of the people run on a pattern. Still though, my best (no start tricks) for Nick Bruiser is 31', and I was proud. The game is difficult (not where as much as so it's NES counterpart) and it was fun to watch the movie. I own the game on my SNES, and I do play it sometimes, but this video just demonstrated flawed perfection. He didn't get hit, but he can improve his times.

I prefer playing the game to watching it being played. I had previously Netplayed all the way through the game twice, so I kind of burned out on it. However, would be nice to see a 2 player hard mode no damage run. It would go faster, because you could be taking down twice or even three times as many people.

No we're talkin about Gabby Jay And Piston is 5"50.

Gabby in 2sec. is BS, sorry but even with cheat codes it wouldn't be possible. There are some players that claim times of 5"9x or 4"9x for Piston but belive me or not that are all cheap fakes. 6"26 is maxed out, 2 pause tricks are used for it. Btw. I've edited the WR list in the post above, Rick can be beaten in 8"71 now for example ;) .
Thats what I was talking about. I might have read it wrong. And, 2 seconds on Gabby Jay is impossible. It takes more than 2 seconds to hit him 7 times at the start...

Are you sure Piston is only a 6"26? I might be mistaken, but I have this vivid memory of my brother beating it faster....meh.

You can turn off the Varia/Gravity Suit to increase the damage taken. Likewise, you can turn on all the weapons simultaneous, a trick known as the "murder beam."
Woah, cool. I know nothing about SM, which is quite apparent.

I don't think there is an ending, just a screen saying congrats for making a Megalopolis (which is indeed a very difficult task.)

I'd attempt it. Anyone have any suggestions as to which one to do?
Definately the $999,999 glitched one. SimCity can become excruciatingly boring when your money runs out. Plus, you are constantly at work (Like Deviance said) I'd go for 100% completion (Unlocking the Artistic view and the Bank, having a Megatropolis, and watching as it is destroyed by Tornadoes, Plane Crashes, Flooding (Thought you might want to use the More Land special building to make the entire place land, and clear it of forestway...basically have the entire thing covered) and Bowser...

So you're doig to "kill" Ridley at the start instead of get damaged to make him leave?
Yep. I already have that part done. 100 hits. I also won't take any 0 HP loss hits (Like the falling debris during the exploding Ceres, and the ending Tourian scene) The only required hit in this game is that of Mother Brain and her eye laser. Which takes 3 energy tanks with the Varia and Gravity...I believe. It's either 3 or 7. I am just going to get what's required to defeat Mother Brain and her henchemen with no snags. It's not going to use the RS Buletta route, since I don't want to watch the video of her beating it. Too boring.

I'm working on a no-damage run (Don't mention the Mother Brain hit, I know.) I haven't done much, i'm in the process of buying a new gamepad, but I figured that playing the entire game without taking a single hit would be quite an interesting watch.

Shift+'+' Increase emulated frame time by 1ms - slowing down the game. (auto-frame skip only) Shift+'-' Decrease emulated frame time by 1ms - speeding up the game. (auto-frame skip only) For the WIP, at least. Will movies we started in the WIP be useable in this version?

When I went to try and watch the movie, the ZSNES gave me an error about not being able to go into full-screen, so I wanted to know if there was a fix so I can watch these Paul Lucas movies...

Frenom, did you hold start to make the talking boxes fly by quicker? Doesn't look like it, but I may be mistaken...

"The video you are about to see is an illegitiamte hoax. It was created using a recordable savestating emulator and should not be confused as a legitimate run." ------------ First of all, the movies aren't about being legitimate. They are for entertainment purposes. Secondly, most websites which give out .avis, .wmvs, etc. have a disclaimer or explanation stating that the movies were tool-assisted (As said on the description of this very forum) If someone doesn't do that, there's no rule saying that they have to, but it's sort of expected. That quote is kind of like saying "The movie you are about to see is fake. It is in no way to be confused with real life." It's redundant. I don't know of any sites that don't give a disclaimer stating of the tool-assistance, and honestly, most of these runs have times which would obviously shine tool-assisted. The only exception is Mario 1, in which legit runs are fairly close to TAs...

Well, I just made a video (not collecting all of the rubies, just a straight-through run) with a time of 32:12 (keeping in mind the between-level cinemas (which I skipped, but still took time), the password screen (unskippable, took a lot of time) and of course, the ending. Aladdin in 32:12 I want to know if it is entertaining...I know I made mistakes, but I can fix those if it is entertaining enough. I don't want to re-do that game for nothing.
