Sorry for spamming the forums, but I've made some progress, I replaced the source with the bt 4.1.0 source, which included the file I needed. I'm using Python 2.4. Now I'm following the instructions but when btlaunchmany.py starts it says D:\Python24\lib\whrandom.py:38: DeprecationWarning: the whrandom module is deprecated; please use the random module DeprecationWarning) ### Could not set signal handler: 'module' object has no attribute 'SIGHUP' Then it repeats "### no torrents" for eternity. I have a number of avi files in the movie directory, but no .torrent files, as the instruction page tells. I can't see what I'm doing wrong here... I'd really appreciate some help so I can get this thing going :D

This seems like a good idea anyway, I have the disk space needed and I just need to help out (I know the irritating feeling of wanting to download something but not being able to because noone is seeding). I'll just have to wander down the creepy python road then, and make sure I don't get bitten... *hates all kinds of programming* Edit: I have a problem... I have downloaded the source code, but curiously btlaunchmany.py isn't there... I downloaded BitTorrent-4.4.0.tar.gz from http://www.bittorrent.com/dl/?C=M;O=D Did I download the wrong file? In that case, which should I download? Or maybe someone can mail me the file needed? My email address can be found in my profile.

Old thread... But yes, please do submit it! I'm too lazy to watch it as it is but I guess it's great. I tried to do a run for Hole in one golf a while back but I cancelled it since it was boring to watch and not very impressing. This seems like a great movie. Some people will probably think it's boring, but as already mentioned, opinions... There are runs published here that I personally can't stand... This however would be great to watch, not only since this is probably the one game during the 8-bit era I spent most time with.

Hi everyone! I haven't been here in ages because I've used an ISP that didn't tolerate torrent files. In fact, the last time I downloaded a movie was before oct 2004... In any case, I'm back and I thought I'd start using that Python autoseed thingie. The problem is, I deleted all the movies to free up disk space (please forgive...). I wonder if it's possible to download all movies at once instead of clicking on each link and downloading every movie one at a time. Is it for example possible to download the movies with the seeding robot? I'm asking before making myself the trouble to get the robot working, since I don't have much experience in Python except a Wikipedia robot. Thanks in advance!

Same here. I fell for the two first tests I did (in one I was watching a "commercial" of a car driving through the countryside), except for the eye test I did long after I stopped falling for these. I guess there still are people who haven't experienced them.

There is a game like that. I played it some days ago. It got extremely difficult after a while. The only time I've been scared by something like this is when I did an "eye-test", where the last test was impossible to make out, and BOOM. They are stupid really, I don't see how people still fall for them...

I just learned that Bittorrent is blocked at my uni, which was why I got blocked from Internet for two days... Seems I'll have to stick with watching the smv's.

I'm running the seeding script almost always, so there should be seeds for movies that need seeds. I'm a pretty slow seed though, but just be patient and keep the torrent running.

I noticed that now... I dl'd the songs just some days ago, and I haven't checked back since. There were two songs from each album they've released (totally 10 songs) to download, and the songs from their 2 last albums were really great. In any case, there is no possibility to download their entire albums, not legally nor illegaly. I've bought their two latest albums, but I thought I could as well download them until they got here, but I couldn't find the albums anywhere on several p2p programs.

1. As I've understood it, PAL versions are normally not allowed. 2. You still have to complete the game to access Professional, even on the PAL version (I played this game like crazy when it first came out). 3. You're not allowed to begin recording a movie inside the game, thus starting the vid when professional is accessed isn't possible. 4. The game won't be really complete without the sim levels, even if they might be a bit boring to watch.

Bob: Download the song The end of eternity by Galadriel, it's really beautiful actually! I never thought doom metal could be beautiful... The Slovakian accents of the singers make it even better.

OK, it would still look cooler if you wouldn't have taken damage though :)

I've watched it now, and as I suspected, it was a bit boring during the town sequenses, I even fell asleep twice... But then I always get tired of watching speedruns for some weird reason. I think there was a bit too many health losses, where all of them really nessecary? In any case, you've spent so much time on this one, and the amount of re-runs was extremely high, so I think this should be published just because of the dedication.

I also loved the sim part, I didn't mean that that part was boring, I just meant that it might be boring to watch when watching a speedrun. Maybe someone should make a professional vid too? On the other hand, don't you have to finish the game before being able to select Professional? I never finished that damn game (stupid final bosses)

I don't know... This game is pretty slow, so I don't think it would be very interesting to watch.

Couldn't you have entered the code for the Proffesional mode, which only contains the arcade levels? I'll check this out anyway though, loved the game.

As I've understood these guys are somewhat like Blind Guardian, and BG is great! I might try to dl some tracks. While recommending these kind of bands, try Galadriel (www.galadriel.sk), they play melodic doom metal in about the same style as BG plays their speed epic. Galadriel even made a cover of BG's Bard's song - The hobbit.

Now I get it! Yeah, I could do that, but since not all holes get favorable wind in a round, I don't really see the point, and since all the difficulty does (to my knowledge) is making the wind harder, it really doesn't matter if I restart the game a couple of times on professional or just play it on beginner or amateur from the beginning... I assume you get my point? Edit: I'll quit whining now and just make one on Beginner and I'll try to make it really impressive. Let's see what you think about it when it's finished, and let's hope Bisqwit isn't stuck in the "hardest difficulty or nothing" thinking.

Hmm, I didn't quite understand that. The wind is different for different holes, but what the wind will be for each hole is determined at the beginning for the round. Please explain what you mean.

Blagadesh: The wind is determined for the entire round at the beginning of the round. There is no use to restart the holes, the wind will always be the same. To get the best wind I'll have to restart the run every time the wind would get bad... You probably understand that the chance to get good wind on 18 holes in a row is almost 0. Bob: The thing is, I'm not trying to finish the game as fast as possible, I'm trying to make the best possible round. This is impossible when the wind is blowing too hard. Just try it for yourself, and see how much the wind affects the shots. And I don't believe a professional -20 round (like the one I did this time) is more impressive than a beginner -24 or something round. Eagle on every par 5, birdie or eagle on every par 4, and at least birdie (HIO preferred) on every par 3 is my goal. The wind prevents me from doing this, and in this case, the difficulty rule is pointless in my opinion. Bag: Yep, I agree. There are 3 difficulties, Beginner, Amateur (?) and Professional. I could try Amateur too, but it does take some time to do this, and if it won't be accepted by principle, without people even watching and judging it, I don't see the reason to even try to make it... Also, I didn't get ONE comment for my past run in several months...
