Nice TAS, but It is not a true pacifist TAS...

So... I hit a bump in the road. I am almost threw the pods in stage 7, but I am out of lives and I dont want to resort to killing just yet. So I am exploring ideas on how to either save a life, or gain an extra one (if it is possible) by shooting weapon pods and perhaps picking up different weapons. But I dont think they would give enough points for an extra life...

Glad some one is enjoying my work besides Dunnius. I should have time to finish this over this weekend. Look forward to my first submission. Any advice for what I should put in my submission text?

I have completed half of stage 5 now. I was working on the boulders but got another desync. Just letting others know this is still happening.

I had a talk about the 2p TAS with a friend of mine. He encouraged me to do 2p as well. I agree that it would be more entertaining, but it would be much uglier. Having to die to proceed threw stage 7 very often, the 2p would not have enough lives to continue. This is just my original though, but if I get done with this and I end up with enough lives so that I know that both players can make it the the end of the game, I will redo it. I dont mind this because the best way to get good at something is experience, and doing the entire thing will give me just that. I was originally going to test the time difference between M and F. I started with M and I noticed I got a cool glitch/bug that caused the 4th gun turret on the boss to not spawn. Being that this is more of an entertainment TAS that speed (I know speed is the overall goal though... if that makes sense... it does in my head), I decided to keep the 4th turret feature. Also, yes, I am still unsure if I want to do the boss with M or F. I will see what is faster/more entertaining and go with that one. I think F will come out the victor in the end though. Thanks for the questions. Any other thoughts?

I got just past the cannon is stage 3 and I got a desync half way in stage 2... I will see if I can do something about it later. And Thanks feos. Edit: My current WIP now that I fixed the desync. Not really sure what happened but I redid from the desync up to Stage 3 Cannon. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/883054667/Stage%201-3.fm2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKQG-NOsf6I

I would be interested in helping with it. I am super new to TASing, but I have great knowledge of the game

Big fan of this game. While watching it, I was able to see some unoptimal strats being used. Then I read the submission text. It did clear some things up for me, but I don't like how much you exchanged speed for entertainment. But this is just my opinion. Changing it up in fights is a great thing... but stalling before stage finishes (like all of them?) just looks bad and takes away from the flow of the run. Meh vote for me.

I have nothing to contribute except omg, you all are amazing. Just wanted to express my support. The new stuff that I see for this game is just amazing. Thanks for all the work that is being put into this game.

Sorry, no vote. Because you hit more enemies than this run in stage4. http://bbs.tasvg.com/thread-975-1-2.html This tas was made by Xipo in 2008. He take no damage, no death, no use 忍, no big sword, kill lest enemy. the replayfile(fcm): http://www.tasvg.com/upload/2008-4/4/NG3.7z
Sorry to be a bit on the rude side, but yall remember the line in Batman Forever, "Your entrance was good, his was better." But in this case a lil bit before the second entrance. I had a no vote in mind once I got to stage 3 and then the rest of the run solidified my choice. Posters from above pointed just about everything out. Use this tas as a starting point, being 4ish years old I am sure some improvements can be made. Taking dmg in areas would save a bit of time (taking that you are willing to from this run) and I am sure you can find more. Side note, any chance some one could make an avi or mp4 of Xipo's run? I would like to see the run at 60fps. No big deal if no one is willing.

Why was this boss order preferred over Sponge > Gater > Crab > Stag > Moth > Centipede > Snail? Or Centipede could be second. Reason I ask is because Sponge weapon in Low% is the only speed boost you have. So getting it asap would yield faster stage times. I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong, but FractualFusion's rout was to be ready for the Zero part fights. So due to the lack of the fights, the rout should have been change to deal with the different goals. Waiting for encode but just on rout alone I am leaning towards a "No" vote unless some info is brought up explaining the reasons behind the choices that was made rather than just copping the last rout.

Thanks, glad I was able to help out. I will pass the info to the current runner. I am very interested in this TAS and speedrun. Depending on how the current runner progresses will determine if I pick up the game myself. It was not answered and I really wanna know, if the movement in the WIP doable in real time? What are the inputs to move that quickly? (Yes I could look at the movie file but I am stupid on emulator operations and honestly don't wanna learn... sorry) Edit: Could you post a .avi or a YT link? I would like to see the 2-2 early exit at max speed Edit2: Realized that was not your signature... Sorry Edit3: (Im on a roll with the edits) Wow, that movement seems fun... Might get this just to try it out

WOW now that is a WIP!!! Stopped by to share a link. A runner over at SDA came across something that allowed 2-2 to end early. He said he has not really spent all too much time on recreating it, but thought it might be able to be looked into. http://www.twitch.tv/rggibson/b/305564819 Also, is that type of movement doable in real time?
