Well.. Then I must be in bad luck, because this problem occurs with all games I try via FBA. :(

Waku Waku 7? That is a nice fighting game. It that suitable for TAS?Mortal Combat and Street Fighters are both famous fighting game in USA.So there is no doubt to accept these games. But Waku Waku 7,I don't think I can TAS well. I have a p1 file to get the rom that can using BONUS KUN and FINAL BOSS. I am not familiar with that game,I know SNK's The King Of Fighters,Samurai Spirit,Fatal Fury. PS Guity Gears,铁拳,and many other similar fighting games. And these games are popular in China.
Might give it a go for Bloodstorm otherwise. Seems pretty cool, and it has fatalities as well, which are pretty gory. Nice TAS btw. Another YES from me.

I'm having huge problem with this emulator as well. Using fba-rr-v005a and it crashes every time I try to save or load a state. The state gets saved, and if I am lucky, the next time I start the emulator the state is loadable. I've tried to put the file into compatible mode with XP SP3, as I'm natively running Win7 X64. Both works equally horrible though. Any chance of getting a fix for this? I can provide more information upon request of course, if there's something you want me to test etc. Cheers.

Was just playing the game for fun, and I've never seen it before. Stumbled upon a fun little glitch which makes object disappear. Not sure if this is well known, but it should be since it is very easy to pull off even in real speed. I'll attach a video demonstrating what I'm talking about. The game might be slightly fun to see a TAS of, though I don't think I will make it. Here's the movie: http://133an.sytes.net/highness/tas/diggerma.fbm Sorry for not encoding it to avi, but FBA did not let me. Crashing every time I tried. Cheers.

Ok. So we've found a good apartment, and we're settled. Time to do some work now. Edit: So. The ball is in movement now. I restarted from hi-rise building to optimize buying the energy, instead of doing it once more later. Turns out that this was not all in vein. Somehow, even though I burn more frames by buying more energy, I save 30 frames from a shortcut I did not think of before. :) Motivation is essential to make me progress further, and I love those small boosts. I now reach the eye worm at 28606 frames. I so want to show you guys this run. I think it will be a masterpiece for this game. Cheers

Why the rush? I mean. I have a real life to attend as well. And I don't always feel like TAS:ing when I'm in front of the computer. Five years might be a bit extreme, but rather late than never, right? Casual, when I'm in the mood, and when I find the time. Thats how I work.

I'll give this a YES-vote. Using continues has been used before in my opinion, such as in Zelda 1 for example, (the reset to save time is a type of continue). Reset can also be used in several other games in various ways. I think this run is legit as a TAS. Cheers.

Whats wrong with the run taking 2 years to make? I have been working on and off on my Ghostbusters run for the past 5 years now. :D Hope that you make an awesome TAS. Good luck.

Watch a thing at www.cinemassacre.com today. Not sure that this community have any use for it, because the published run already clears the area much faster. But maybe we can use it to our advantage anyhow? http://www.cinemassacre.com/2011/02/15/dr-wilys-castle-tricks/ Videos shows some glitches for Mega Man 1, and Mega Man 2. Cheers.

Easy yes-vote. To me some of the stuff were jaw-dropping. Indeed a very cool run. Thanks for making it!

I was entertained from start to end. Very entertaining run. I also think that we could use this in a separate category somehow. Maybe to be placed in hacks/demos/other category in worst case? Cheers to a great TAS!

I was just elaborating on the idea. I am very much not sure about the actual facts. :)

Could. Wonder if the RAM-address for speed is relevant to every character, or if the values is based on the top-speed of that character? I mean for example that the address might show 127 when Tommy has a top speed of 200, while it shows 127 while being at top speed with Slash who only reach 180 units of speed, or if it would show the actual speed of the characters, ie both Tommy and Slash would have a speed unit of 200 when the value of the address is 127? No clue, but it would be nice to investigate. Cheers.

Ok. I managed to watch it now. Wonder if we can push even more tricks into each lap, or is that impossible with Tommy being worse at doing tricks? Not sure about the dynamics in each character, do they matter a lot? Pretty cool that you managed to pull off Tommys' special and score 400g for those jumps. Did not think that it was possible this early in the game. Glad I'm wrong. :)

Did have no chance to check the videos out yesterday. Internet connection at home was down for the entire day. Guess the ISP in Peru had some issues. Furthermore there is too much concrete in the house, so IF I'm lucky, I get connection at one or two spots in the house. Thinking of buying a repeater and put it in some strategic spot. I'll try to watch the videos later if possible. Please keep me/us updated on the progress and findings meanwhile. :) Cheers

Cool. I will check the movie when I get home today. Hehe.. Think we could make another 22g in the first level? I think it poses impossible, but to get as close as possible would be preferrable. Otherwise we'll sure get it after level 2.

In my point test video I avoid those pans throughout the entire run. So it seems to me that it can be avoided indefinately. Is there a separate speed address for being airborn? Not sure about the fans if they can be gotten while being in first place. Never reflected upon that. Is being in first place always faster? To me it seems that if you are in first place, there is no problem for the others to catch up with you, no matter how fast you're going. Maybe this is a wrong assumption? Is it always optimal to go with the alpine level 3 board throghout the game, or is it smart to go for some other board in the various levels? When playing in realtime this is in fact easier imo. Not sure about the result in a TAS though. You would need to take very sharp turns, which hampers speed with the alpine boards, while with the other boards, you can do it smoother and thus prevail speed. Testing has to be done. :)

Thanks Wyster. That will come in handy for a full TAS of this game. I was fiddling some more with the game yesterday. Seems fairly easy to manipulate the compeditors weapon throwing. Especially for the items such as those pans that comes down from the sky. I just took a slightly different turn to avoid them being thrown. Not sure how the mechanics works. But at least its a step in the right direction. Internet connection at home is very bad at the moment, so updates from me will be scarce. Keep in touch.

Hmm... Shows what I know. :D Found a file which has the ending .st. Could that be it maybe? Why doesn't the emulator bake the snapshot into the movie file? Would have been nice. Uploading the snapshot right now, but it will take forever. My connection is VERY crappy since I moved. I'll post as soon as the upload is finished. Edit: Wow! The upload went very smooth I must say. OK. So the state can be downloaded from here Just unpack it and rename the file. I was a bit to eager before I uploaded it I guess. Hope it works for you guys. Tell me otherwise and I'll try to correct it ASAP. Cheers.

I did not really start from a snapshot. It's more like "record from now" I think? Doesn't it work for you? Works fine for me without having any snapshots.

OK. So I made a small test where I try to scrape together enough money to buy the second alpine board. This is a rough sketch more or less just to show that it's possible to make it with good margin. Note that this movie does not start from reset because I was a bit to lazy for that. So far I have not really delved into a lot of things concerning this game. Stuff that would be good to know is what the other players have for weapons and items. Would also be good to see what is actually in the baloons that gives you wepaons and items. You can download the movie from http://133an.sytes.net/highness/tas/snowboard_kids-point_test_finished-by_highness.m64 Cheers

Can't you end the movie a bit earlier? I mean.. As soon as you land the last hit on the final boss, you could stop the movie. However, this version of the movie is good for the encoders I suppose? The outcome of the movie won't change though.
