Erm... That's an odd game, and like you said paul_t it wasn't very much of a TAS to watch either. :) How could Sega even license that crap? Haha. Crappy game, but made me smile at least. Cheers.

I'd still love to see Dune to be done. Perhaps I will get around to make it some day. Damn I hate being busy. I hardly have time for even watching a TAS now days. :(

If you would want to, I could make you an account on one of my boxes. * It has KDE installed * You will have shell access, with access to install new software * Accessible via VNC, or any other remote desktop program that you want to install. * The computer is online 24/7 * It's connection to the internet is 100/10 Mbit, hundred down, ten up. Specs of the computer: CPU: P4 2.4 Ghz RAM: 512Mb (I'm thinking of upgrading) Sound card: Creative Labs SB Audigy Graphics; Nvidia GeForce3 Ti 200 HDD: 2x40Gb, 1x300Gb Installed OS: Kubuntu 8.04.1 (Yeah, I'm a slacker right now). Just drop me an email, or private message if you have more questions, or if you want me to hook you up with an account.

WOW! What the hell did just happen? Awesome break of this game. Extreamly impressive. Thanks for the entertainment. An easy YES-vote.

Wow! I had almost forgot that I made a run at this game. Nice to see it improved. It would have been on my todo list, but I haven't been very active the last year or two. I suspect I will vote YES after watching the movie, without a doubt. Cheers mate! Edit: I have watched the improvement now, and I'm om on the clear like I was b efore watching. This run is well worth a YES-vote. :)

Well, sure, whipping and throwing holy water requires extra processing so it makes sense that it would lag more. However, there are three situations where the author does that: ― When killing an enemy: Reducing enemies reduces lag. ― When manipulating the coordinates for a subsequent falling-through-floor trick. Not really avoidable. ― When trying to lengthen the jump: I guess this makes the movie marginally faster where it occurs. I don't remember seeing it being used in laggy situations.
What I also thought about is that Simon is not actually moving his limbs while jumping, and thus reduces lag, right? Is Simon moving faster while walking or jumping, or is it equal perhaps? If it's at least equal (maby not true in all scenarios depending on lag reduction) it would be favourable to jump a lot when encountering lag, just to reduce it.

Not sure if it's just my imagination, but is the lag reduced when Simon is jumping without whipping or throwing holy water? At least that is what it looks like at some places. Especially when there are more than one skeleton on the screen at once. Anyhow, this was an awesome run. A couple of new glitches, bugs and route changes. I'm impressed. Cheers! A Yes from me.

An impressive achievement, though a little hard on the eyes and ears. Would it be possible (at the emulator or .avi level) to pull a trick like Bisqwit did with klmz's SMB1 run and have different music playing with the sound effects intact? If it were, it would be nice to have an .avi with only 1 game's music output (or even MegaMan X's), with the sound fx from all. I've gathered that there are people on this site who are intimately familiar with at least the early MM's source code, so maybe ROM hacks to disable music in 5 of the 6 wouldn't be too hard? Just a random thought...
Would it not be better to manually encode separate audio tracks that the viewer can select/choose upon watching the video? Much like a DVD which can be dubbed into different languages, and audio commentary? It's quite some work to get it done, but then you can at least have all 6 games on the screen, but only sound from the one you are watching.

I improved the previous one I had posted. :) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/915210173/RedBrinstar_Fallv2.smv By using this trick, you can save more 23 frames than Cpadolf's run, probably.
That was very cool! Cheers mate!

I think you should submit this run, even though it most likley won't get published. I used a frameskip throughout the entire movie, and even then it was kinda dull and boring. The interesting bits are: Avoiding all enemies Running from bosses Not gaining any XP at all Wonder if there is a way to break sub 60min? Cheers for this stuff though. It's a great game to play. Not as fun to watch though. Damn they made it slow paced. Thanks for making this run!

OMG! Yeah. This needed to have a face lift. :) I've thought alot about the improvements before. But as usual I never get around to make them my self. Of course this is a clear yes-vote. The published movie should be with Rev00. I really like the nudity in the end. Haha. Also like the dying part. Funny.

Ohhh yes! Long time since I actually wrote something on this site. It's time again though. I have tried my self once to make a run out of this. But I never bothered getting started. I did play around some with it, but never accomplished something this stylish. This game is seriously a bitch. Good to know for others is that if you idle and kill something, especially in the first level, a new enemy will spawn almost instantly. Therefor one must be constantly moving more or less. I played this game as a kid very much. I love what you've done with it. The controllers totally SUCK in this game. Wonder which is worse, Gods or Terminator? Clear YES-vote from my side. Hope this goes to publication. I gladly make the encode my self. ;) Cheers for this.

save states? Load a save state instead of watch the movie from the beginning. You can also resume recording from a save state by picking that option.

Sorry. Forgot to write earlier. This is a clear yes-vote. However... Wouldn't it be possible to reduce lag quite a lot in some places? Instead of jumping over enemies you could kill some of them to save a couple of more frames? Generally this was very nice planned and executed. Hope to see more of your videos in the future. Cheers!

I did start on a test run long ago. But due to desyncs I stopped. Some stuff that might be helpful is to use the equipments as items. Some of them can cast magic. Not sure how powerful it was. Haven't played the game for some time now. Someone should really make a hack of this game to allow faster movements of the characters. It's just so boring to watch them walk. Takes for ever. I wish you the best of luck with this game. I will watch it later on and give you some comments about it. Edit: I have now watched the run. Thank god for fast forward! :D The run desyncs at the Neifirst battle. It's kind of impressive so far. I hope it will be a good final gmv. Also, it would be awesome if you could provide a savestate that brings you right in front of Neifirst so I don't have to fast forward everything again. I forgot to make one my self. :) Cheers so far!

Hehe. Funny this... I loved when you did the fatality with Jax when the feet sprayed blood. Is it possible to do a double fatality against each other, instead of babality? That would be wicked. Cheers for this. Yes-vote.

I'm not to fond of save/reset either. Even though it's faster it will be boring to see that option over and over again. Would drive me nuts. If you're aiming for pure speed without entertainment, then by all means go by it. But please release an entertaining version first. :)

Hmm... What version of Snes9x are you guys using, and what settings in it? Is WIP checked, up and down, etcetera? Also.. I suppose you are running windows? I don't know how to extract the video from that. Sorry.

According to the MM2 Wiki page: "Quick Man is vulnerable to Crash Bomber; however, it's best to hit him directly, which can be difficult. A miss causes Mega Man to have to avoid Quickman's attacks, since he cannot fire again until the Crash Bomb detonates, which will kill Quickman in one hit if he's on top of it." I have no idea if this is true, or if it would even save time, but it's out there.
Well. I believe that I once did manage to get Quick Man to run into an exploding Crash Bomb, but because this is indeed so incredibly rare to do, I'm not sure whether I really did manage to get this done, or whether I just think I did. Regardless, since you've got a massive amount of Mega Man 2 TASing experience by now, it should be quite easy to check, right?
In such occations, would it be possible through assembly to cripple quick mans movement?
