How do I apply the patch to the source code?

Is it hard to write a plugin or something that you can point and click coordinates with the mouse, and the actually travel will take part in the game? In a paused mode of the emulator you click the button where you want the mouse pointer to be the next frame or something?

Pizza tycoon!! :D Though you need a mouse for that. Ultima VIII would be cool too!

I also would like to add Action Supercross
Haha! Surprise that someone from Finland requested 'across'. :D I agree though. It would be awesome to see someone crunch the world records of that game. I did actually hold one of the world records for a level for a total of one hour or something silly like that. My minute of fame. Hehe. After that I more or less put down the game for a while. Started to play again when Elma hit the computer world. Actually played Elma last week. Funny game that. Edit: Add Dune 2 to the list! Dune the adventure game would be cool too. Just to see how fast it can be done. With a very optimized rout and stuff like that.

Woha! I thought it was included in the GoodGen library? Does the game have another title in Japan? Like an original title. Might be easier to search for that right? Edit: BTW. I reckon that someone on these forums has the original cartridge. I know I've seen it in a collection list of some sort. Perhaps we should dump that cartridge eh? =)

Couldn't the movie file contain information for the dosbox settings to change automatically when loading and playing the video file? Perhaps that could help a bit when it comes to configuring dosbox? Not just state that "You have the wrong settings", but to actually change them for you. Of course with a check box of some sort saying "Manually override movie settings", if you really think you could configure in some other way without desync.

Didn't phantasy star also release on the Genesis? I have slight memories of seeing that. Edit: Yeah, it's available to genesis.

Never expected to see this. I've seen a lot of weird stuff on the internet. And this belongs in the top 100 at least. I think... :) Slight warning goes out before you click the links below. You may dislike what you are about to see. You have been warned. http://www.b0g.org/wsnm/articles/Selfgrown+platearmor http://www.markallencam.com/?p=139

how about linux support for 3d acceleration? until that comes, i won't be able to do much with any of this. though, i'll greatly enjoy seeing psx runs.
Linux is already capable of 3d acceleration. I use it when I run beryl for example. For some demos about that, check youtube. http://youtube.com/results?search_query=beryl&search=Search On another notice. Shouldn't this thread get moved to "other emulator topics" instead of "other games" ?

Is there any way to force a dump of a game to match another dump?

Sure did. Can't remember seeing the discussion, though I didn't do any research before posting anyways. Cheers for the answer! :)

As me and a friend was playing this game, it suddenly hit me, though I don't know if it has been discussed before. In a 96 exit run, wouldn't it be faster to use a 2p run because of the walking times and stuff like that will be cut? Sure, the fade-out and fade-in switching between the two players will crave some time, but in the whole I suspect there are many seconds to be saved by using two players. What do you guys think?

Is there a flag or check in the PSX to tell wether a cutscene is playing or a title screen is showing? If so you could probably add some of that info for desync messages while playing right?

Unless someone answers this, you can always download the smv and look at the key press to find out about the timing. :)

Try to change the rendering in Gens. I recall that worked for me when I ran windows back in the days. :)

I love that this discussion is once again at the very top of all topics. Hopefully someone will dig into this and once again explore the games boundaries to provide us with yet another splendid TAS. :)
