Because the fastest way of getting missiles is to blast away one boss. :) Edit: And missiles is needed for the last boss.

I'm getting an error while trying to run the latest gens_movie_9Z in wine. Any suggestions on this? The error message reads "Error with lpDD_Back->SetSurfaceDesc " This is the error output:

I tried to play around with the winecfg setting different types of emulation for the graphics hardware. Also tried to change the OS. But nothing seems to help. Please help me out so that I can get back to TAS:ing ASAP. :)

Sorry, a no boss/miniboss run. You have to get as many items as possible without killing any bosses or minibosses after the torizo that gives you the bombs.
Torizo can be skipped in the european version of the game.

You get stuck in a door then you do the X-Ray Climb which consists of constantly crouching and force standing (force standing is when you stop scanning while turning around). Once you go through 255 screens, you go 1 room to the right
Is this a true fact? If so, does it force you to the right room, even if it's locked, like when you have to kill all enemies in the room first to unlock the door?

Not really square one. We can at least make runs for now, and hope that an SMS-emu will be compatible with the vba movies. :D So far it's great entertainment, even though it won't be publishable.

I pended between 'meh' and 'no'. Landed on a 'meh'. This game is about splatter brains all over the place. Not run from all the action. The only time I enjoyed watching this run was when you were in those cable cars, when you actually killed something, besides the bosses. Not your fault. The run is impressive, but not appealing. Sorry.

I know that the work behind this run is very good in all ways. But to be honest I wasn't much entertained by the run it self. It is hard to keep track on what is going on, and the graphics of this game just makes the eyes bleed. The game is very fun to play indeed. But it's not fun at all to watch it for this long. I vote no. Sorry.

I feel like watch this run a couple of more times tonight. Sadly I won't. But I will throw in my star-yes-vote. :D

I have now tried the game for a couple of hours. Exploring around and stuff like that. I'm really glad to see this hack. I will try to finish it when I get more time. And I really hope to see a TAS of it.

I don't see keeping track on one more file being a problem really. :)

I thought of another funny thing. I always like to watch the keypresses in movies, but lately I've been falling back to watching the encoded .avi files. It came to mind that perhaps it would be possible to output the keypresses from the emu and use it as subtitles in the avi? So one can choose to load the keypress subtitles if they want. Not sure if it's a big job to make such output from the emu. Still would be cool though.

Unless I'm missing something, in terms of CDs, it only seems to support actual discs (No ISOs).
Well.. It could indirectly support ISOs by mounting them with daemon-tools (for windows), or with 'mount -t iso9660 -o loop <filename.iso> </mnt/isodrive>' in linux. (Yeah, I use a folder called isodrive in my computer, and not the /mnt/cdrom since I want to keep them appart). :)

It would be great to have a feature to ignore addresses that you don't want to view at all in the search menu. For example, if I'm searching for a value that differs from the past value, and I get a heap of values/addresses that does the same, I want to hide some of the addresses to suit my needs better. Preferrably by selecting multipple of them and choose hide. Also, the reset should still hide the hidden values/addresses, and an additional unhide button would be a must. :)

Me and my friend were puzzled about the equation in the Weird al Yankovic's video "White and nerdy". The equation can be found at wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_and_nerdy The "correct" (as they put it) equation should be the Dirac's Constant, but the theory of a friend of mine and me is that if this equation can be calculated at all, it's result will be 27, which happens to be a reccuring joke without any special logic throughout his videos, or something else which might be connected to our hero. Would be awesome if any of you guys/gals could give us the answer to this (if one can be given). :) Cheers!
