Thanks for the input guys! dwangoAC - I'll check out the cec features of XBMC if something can be used perhaps. True - The original remote control that ships with the TV (or at least with mine) is AA59-00581A if thats what you mean. If you mean the control from the RaspberryPI it is just the HDMI output I use. Nothing between that and the TV. The case is that I want as many features as possible available through my RaspberryPI via SSH (preferably). When you said it was not supported to control the internal volume of the TV via HDMI I based it on this, which I might have misunderstood: "System Audio Control allows the volume of an AV receiver, integrated amplifier or pre-amplifier to be controlled using any remote control from a suitably equipped device(s) in the system". I thought that the integrated amplifier suggested the one in the TV. The power control through cec is already fixed. I can turn the TV on/off and switch HDMI source without problems. How possibly do I connect to the TV via IP? Did not portscan or check connections on it yet. I only know that I can use Samsung's app for my smart phone in order to control it fully. Yet I don't want to reach into my pocket every time I want to control the TV when I already have my hands on the keyboard. What an unnecessary movement of the arm when the hands are perfectly comfy as they are at the keyboard. ;) EX-Link looks a bit interesting. Just need to solder a cable (unless it is possible to buy them from somewhere) and then figure out how to control the TV via that. I've been thinking of an IR-blaster as well, but right now I want to see where I can get without using it.

Hey folks, I'm trying to poke around my RaspberryPI which is connected to a Samsung UE46ES6305U TV by HDMI. The RaspberryPI is installed with Xbian and libcec. What I'm trying to do is to use the RaspberryPI to control the TV as much as possible. Right now for example I can use the cec-client to turn the TV on and off by evoking the commands
echo 'on 0' | cec-client -s
echo 'standby 0' | cec-client -s
or to switch between the HDMI sources by
echo "tx 4F 82 10 00" | cec-client -s
echo "tx 4F 82 20 00" | cec-client -s
echo "tx 4F 82 30 00" | cec-client -s
What I have been unsuccessful about is the ability to change between other AV sources, such as SCART and component for example. Also I've tried to change the volume up and down without luck. Did not get mute to work either. I've tried the cec-o-matic site but did not manage to have anything working from those codes, probably because I did something wrong by my self. Could you guys give a hint (or full solution) on how to get on track with getting more control through cec? For example vol+ / vol-, change between other sources, left, right, up, down, enter, menu etc. If possible I would like most functions from my normal remote control to be working through cec-client. Thanks!

Haha! What can I say? That was crazy and cool at the same time. Here's another yes-vote.

I'm throwing in a yes. I can't say that entertainment value was on top, so it's a weak yes. Vault material perhaps. I think the dialogues ruins the enjoyment level a bit since they take for ever before they close down. In general it's a good execution of this game though. Not sure how to add in more entertainment.

Well... Earlier I did not even think about movie support, but it is a natural thing to do of course to implement that as a fully fledged feature with recordable capabilities.

Secret of mana can enter/disconnect players by pressing select or start button if I remember correctly. But the textbox tricks I don't know of.

As Wonder Boy in monsterland was just submitted I started to read some hints etc for the game. Turns out that there is a money bug/glitch/cheat which invloves starting the console without controller 2 connected and after getting the first sword, connect controller 2 and press start 73 times. I would like to verify that, but there is no way in BizHawk where I can disconnect/re-connect the controllers to give it a try. Would it be possible to get this feature implemented? Taken from GameFAQ's (http://www.gamefaqs.com/sms/563500-wonder-boy-in-monster-land/faqs/2927): "Extra Gold: Plug in control pad two after you get your sword from the fortune teller in scene one. Control pad gives you access to the pause button. Each time you hit the pause button 73 times you will receive 45 pieces of gold." Thanks!

I'm casting a yes vote. Been following all the WIP's so far. As for optimizing the game I think that no game ever submitted to be a 100% pre-optimized with no further improvments to be found. Money bags, coins and items can probably be problematic because you can't grab them on the first frames they appear I, so at some places, especially the boss rooms they tend to spread out a great deal first. Looking forward to publication. Cheers!

Watched it now. Looking pretty solid. What became of the idea of using thunder for the last boss? Did it not save time at all? Right now the only place in the game where it gets a bit dull is the last boss. And seeing that you stand around waiting for timing a lot there it would be great with thunder. If extra money is needed for thunder you can easily aquire this from the blue knight, meduza, or the pig boss.

Sorry. Voting no on this. Un-optimized, sprite hack, and adding the spin dash to Sonic 1 does not really entertain me much.

Just found something weird while fooling around with the R/L glitch for passing through the floor. When you begin a new game and directly use it on at the tree to the left of where you spawn, there is a hidden gold coins when falling through the floor. Not sure about the game in general, but at least in this spot I have gotten various ammounts of gold depending on what frame I decide to start to float through the floor. The ranges I've gooten in a very small test period is 1 - 4 gold. Maybe this applies to all hidden gold coins, I don't know. But at least it seems to be possible to manipulate it. Maybe you can spawn other items or ammounts of gold this way? To replicate, reset the game, walk to the left, jump and use L+R to fall through the floor. This will spawn the gold coin. Loop through the floor again and you will grab it. Edit: Also your updated run so far looks very solid and tight. Very nice. Keep it up!

Truly an amazing TAS. I can't even begin to imagine how complex and annoying it must be to make it. I loved how you took care of idle time, such as spelling LOL with peasants for example. The way you dodged enemies and made them target a dummy while the others were beating the enemy to a bloody pulp. Much fun. Hope to see more in the future! Thanks for making it.

I can confirm that the sound is awkward using Bizhawk 1.4.1 with the UE [!] rom. Did not try it with a different emulator yet, but I can't recall to have had any troubles the past years. Also, hi AngerFist. :)

Wow! 300 frames just from that? Not bad at all. Yeah. Try to manipulate enemies, after you have enough gold of course, to drop thunder. It would make a great addition against the last boss, since when you're not able to strike him with the sword you can still deal a good ammount of damage to it.

Thunder would make a great addition to the sword then by the sound of it. Can you also get thunder from random enemy drops, or do you have to buy it or defeat that level 8 boss to get it?

Thank you for making an attempt at this game. Looking forward to the final results. Also have you considered to use any power-ups such as bombs or tornados etc? Maybe they could save time against the last boss for example unless you can hit it with the sword?

Two more things I wonderd about is: 1. In the vertical room when you jump between two blocks making them go upwards. Would it be possible to use the L+R technique to get jammed into the wal and jump up the entire vertical shaft instead of bouncing between the platforms? (Starts at frame ~33000) 2. The final boss, is it possible to hit it when it extends his neck in order to make its flame attack? If it is possible it would seem that you are missing a lot of oportunities to make an attack against it. Both the green dragon, and the mecha version of it.
