Neofix - Perhaps you could program a PHP thingie to make the chart instead. Because almost every web browser can handle PHP!

I think those numbers are a bit off. But yeah. Perhaps sabres could be an alternative.

Ah! You could also check the first page of that thread you posted about genesis editors FODA! My brother made a PHP parser just for watching keypresses. It's avalible here http://133an.sytes.net/~laban/gens/gens.php

I didn't see that this has been replied to. So I'm doing that now. That comdlg32.ocx is very easy to find by google. But I really thought that I included it in my rar file.

I use about the same style as you do Neofix. And I think there will be no other way to do it. Unless you can hardcode breakpoints in the GMV/Rom. But that woulden't be good if you ask me. In a modified version of Gens that my friend made you can set breakpoints for specific frames. So if you decide you wanna compare where V1 of your run is compared to V2, you can tip in a break at 1000 frames for example. Then you can fast forward to that point and see the diffrence. It would be really awesome to have some sort of compare system like you said. One idea would be (as we talked about before I beleive, in the gens thread) to have two windows in the emulator side by side where you can load two diffrent movies, and still have that breakpoint function. Instead of just launching two instances of gens.

Didn't know that. But still I'd like the feature in the emu. :D

I'd like this feature to easily create a series of pictures or an entire gif animation if possible. The user should be able to set the "screen shot every n frames", for example if I only want to capture every other frame instead of all frames. Personally I mostly want each frame to auto screen shoot. I think this is a very good complement to the avi dump feature. For example when I want to show a new trick in a game I don't want to be bothered with captureing an entire avi file and re-encode it. I know it's not that much hazzle. But I'm lazy, and a feature to get more lazy is nicer if you ask me. :)

Just checked spezzafer's new work. Damn good material! I hope that you do it fast enough so that you can submit that soon, because if you ask me, that is submittable material!

Hmm.. Maby magic doesn't need to be leveled at a certein point? But after one get's dryad the regular levels can be reached very quickly and thus perhaps get greater advantage towards enemies and bosses, especially the mana beast?

Taliz - Have you tried to output your video using any other codec besides Xvid? Maby you are trying to use 2-pass 2nd pass, and perhaps you haven't ran the first pass yet? Besides, thats no good idea to do within the emulator anyways. Try to output the avi to some raw format of AVI, then use virtualDub to encode it with 2 passes xvid or what ever your choice is.

After renaming debugview.dll to debugview.dll.disabled it worked fine. Then I shutdown my computer and today when I was going to play the same movie it didn't work. So I had to rename debugview.dll.disabled back to debugview.dll. Then launch the emulator. Didn't work. Then again rename the dll to disabled. Then re-launch the emulator. That time it worked. Do I need to do this every single time?

*applauds* I finaly got my emulator to work properly thanks to nitsuja. I forgot that one could rename that dll file. :) The run was amazing. Very much cool tricks. A ninja Mario for sure. I think that in a 120 star run will see alot of these tricks. And I have to agree that the Bowser levels were the best indeed.

I got a rom loading error when loading Maza's movie, even though I use the same rom stated. Very weird. It says that Maza recorded with Super Mario 64 (U) (!) while my rom is Super Mario 64. Even though Mupen tells me my version is the same as Maza's. Yet his movie plays fine. BTW! Where can I get Jabo's DirectSound 1.6?

Yes. I have checked the raw input data. Hmm.. Maby I have done something wrong? I only got Maza's video to play fine. What about the other videos circulating this thread? Are those working for you guys? Didn't notice nitsujas post above, so here comes the edit: I'm running Linux Slackware 10.2 with Wine 20050930 on a P4 2.4GHZ with 512Mb ram, Nvidia Geforce 3 Ti200, Creative Soundblaster Live (something). I'm trying to play some of the movies that were posted in this thread. Yes everything matches up in both sides. I tried to explain "Nothing happends" as much as possible. Logo shows and then it's the Mario head. It zooms out and then nothing more happends (that I'm aware of.)

Ok. I've gotten this emulator to play the games alright. But still the problem with controllers occur. And when I try to replay a movie it doesn't work. It looks like something happends though. Can't explain what though. :(

If this game is going to be made I strongly think it would be a 3 player one. Perhaps 1 player controlls 3 players? =D Damn that would take time to make. If so I also think that hit and runs can be made without slowing down. Sort of like drive by's. One player could attack an enemy and then hit select or start to "release" that character, while some other player starts to run. The now computerized character will start to run as well right? There for you can gain xp without loosing much speed.

Wonder if he could have landed more hits the regular way, instead of charging his weapon at the mana beast? If it would inflict more damage etc etc...

Ok.. He miss a BIG time saver in the underground palace (Segment 5, just a little sub 13minutes). There is a ledge to the left which he can jump up on if he charges some weapon a tiny bit. EDIT: I have finished watching the entire movie. I'm somewhat confused. He uses very strange magic, which probably costs him alot of time. But why didn't he use lucent beam at Thanatos?

I got some thoughts this far (I've only watched up to 29minutes of segment 3 of the SDA run) that is really concerning me. I will post some more thoughts later. 1. At the rolling spike boss the witch releases upon you he uses candy and chocolate instead of remedy. Which of the three is faster, remedy vs candy and chocolate? Not using flame magic with the girl, I don't see the point. Move in on the enemy to use "air-born" spells such as fireballs and sylphid's flying discs faster. Didn't skip the password in the South Town. This can be avoided by running behind the trees (between the wall and the trees)

There are already other techniques that weren't used in the movie? Woah, that game really is getting more broken day by day.
Yeah.. There are some really nifty techniques that are demonstrated in the topic found at: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=260&start=520 Check the other pages in that thread for other videos.
