Sounds resonable if you ask me. Password in this case should be allowed. I don't quite see that as cheating since the first round only seems like a trial or something.

Sad. /me pokes some one to re-write the rules a bit. Seriously though. This would be one of those special cases where it should be allowed to do something like that. Since it's pretty boring watching a run twice just to get to the real ending. Supposed that nothing else changes during the levels though?

Would it be possible to convert VMV to FMV or FCM?

Well.. You could start a new movie when you have completed the first round of it. I could find that acceptable. Because then you would only need to watch one round of it and still get to see the second ending right?

Is it a compressin issue? Try compress it as something else. Like rar or something.

You don't get an error or something saying what's causing it more specificly?

If you need to die quickly you can do that in the beginning by getting run over by one of those harvesters or what ever they are. :D This also works in the level after the dam. Dying = easy. But wonder if you would earn so much time doing it.

I'd vote for re-recorded.

I love to see when a game get breaked down like this to be abused at most. That shows some skills and planning for sure. :) As much as I want you to rush through the game so it will be completed I still want you to take your time to plan as much as possible and discover more useful stuff etc. :)

I'm beginning to think that this game might be possible to run within the 5min limmit. I'm in the middle of level 3 and it has only taken one and a half minut so far. There are 8 levels total.

Yeah. I have seen it checked as well when using a quick key for it. But I didn't think it caused any harm. As far as I can tell it hasn't done anything to my run. But then again, I'm not sure if I recorded while using the quick keys or if I simply clicked the option. I will stay away from it while recording though. Hurry up with that NBA Jam movie. I played that alot with my brother many years ago.

I have only had one desync problem while watching some one elses run. And that was because the person had fiddled with the config file. I use the default config besides the controls. Oh. I have had desync with my own movies. But that was only because I accidently used wrong save state to play from.

Ah. There we go. I am pretty satisfied about it. Boss 2 takes ~14.95 to complete after some better work on it.

Just started on boss 2. The test shows 18 seconds. But I will improve this one way or another. I think I could do atleast sub 15.

*phew* I have just completed the second level, about to beat the boss. This took about 2 hours. Level 2 is a damn pain in the butt to complete. I also found out some very interesting way of manipulation. Something that was very hard to pull off, which I didn't bother since I found other ways around the problems, is that if you jump just one frame before the character lands he will begin the next jump. How ever, monster that should spawn when he touches the ground doesn't spawn. For example, those enemies that get's out from pipes in level 2. I'm not 100% sure of this, but it did seem like it a couple of times. Anyways.. For those interested in seeing the progress so far I add this link to download the gmv file. Enjoy. And as always. Critisism is appreciated as long as it is creative. http://highness.no-ip.com/mysticdefender/Mystic_Defender_(REV_01)_(JUE)(SecondLevel).gmv

Well.. Basicly I don't change anything in the config besides the ABC and start buttons. All works smooth and fine for me. I have only seen a couple of desyncs in very few games so this ain't a common problem for me. Try using the default settings. Thats the only advice I can give I suppose.

After finishing the first boss the new version is 6 seconds faster. Working more intense to cut the time down. Future work will be slowed down a bit more since I will have to plan the rout a bit better. Up coming levels contain semi-mazes where I don't wanna get lost etc while recording. So I will check through the levels better before continuing. Cheers!

Well.. 500 gold ain't that much if you reiceive 400 gold from killing the first boss over and over again. But I don't know how well balanced that would be. Compare the time getting the ammount of gold VS the time you gain by taking more damage and using more magic. How much more would you gain if you had an extra pair of wing boots? Would it be worth gathering gold for an extra pair?

Well.. I think we all have seen the back tracking alot latley. Enough to get bored by it. I can't really make up my own mind if I wanna see the Up+A or if I wanna see the whole back track. I think since this is a "new" genre in this game, 1-item-run. I think it would be more fair to use the back tracking. How ever, if you're lazy some day you'd rather see people use the quickest possible alternative, which in this case would be Up+A. Perhaps you guys should put up two diffrent runs on this?

I clicked the YES button because I generally think this is a good speed run. I played it some when I was a kid too and I never menaged to complete the game. How ever.. Ain't it possible to use more magic etc? And those wing boots. Is it possible to use it more? I think you could improve alot by using the wing boots more frequent as possible. As mana is an issue you would have to refill more. Thus you can take more damage perhaps to decrease the time taken to complete the game. But as I said in the beginning. A good speed run that deserves getting published. Cheers mate! Keep em' coming.
