You would need a TV-card to capture from VHS to computer. They aren't that expensive really. Could buy a Pinnacle PCTV Rave or something for just like £31.

I have begun to try this a tid bit. Any hint, glitch, tips would be nice. Also creative critisism is warmly welcomed since thats what makes runs better. :) I have made a quick test of the first level including the boss. Any thoughts about it? http://highness.no-ip.com/mysticdefender/MysticDefender(REV01)(JUE)-byHighness.gmv I know some bits where I could make it nicer looking, but I used only one state for this run as it was a test. For example I need to shoot to charge the power meter. Before the carterpillar mini-boss I could have started to charge right after killing the last enemy. I also noticed that the power bar wont charge when I'm walking. But if I jump it will continue to charge. Not sure if walking or jump is a faster way to move. I think jumping is slower, but could prove more effective in some places. At the boss I should probably try to move further to the right since it will be faster to walk out from the screen that way. Please post as much comments as possible in a creative way. That would make this run go faster to make, and some more stylish things in the game. My goal so far is just to keep on moving forward and never stop. Thats just a basic goal of course. :D Cheers!

If you ask me it can be rather important to see the re-record count. It's also fun when you encounter those movies with loads of re-records. You will then know that the person made the movie has tried loads and loads of diffrent things to speed things up. Woulden't it be possible to implant re-record count to the GIR extension?

Damn that was kewl. Hehe.. Try watching that with the european version of the game (i accidently did that first). I started to wonder when you stood stil for a while and the moogled your self. Haha. Also.. In the eurpean version the characters didn't die. So there must be alot of diffrence between the two.

About speedrun progress, I have to redo everything again since I discovered that it's faster to make Vick and Wedge runnig away from battle than killing them. I hope having everyone for Whelk battle will allow me to kill it before it hides.
Erm.. Is it faster to play without Vick and Wedge? Seems confusing. Would Terra alone be mightier than if she had those two with her?

Ventuz - "Can't" when it comes to computers is a funny word. You're supposed to be disabled to install stuff on it. But it's always a matter of knowledge. BWAHAHA! The computer admins at three of my past schools always banned my account. But what does it help when you've got every other students logins etc? There are so many holes etc you could get things running. Ah well. Maby we shoulden't talk about that. Think the rules mentioned something about it's illegal to discuss that sort of things in here. So let's just move on with the topic. I guess I'll have to wait for 30 more mins and let you come home to your sweet good'ol computah! :D

Sounds great. Are we talking about getting home at X-mas from college or do you have a computer in a dorm somewhere? =)

That would be an awesome glitch to use. Could you tell us more specificly about this glitch? Can you show us perhaps? Make a small video of it. Still though it won't be that much of a prime target to level the characters. They will deal more damage to enemy though. But it just takes to much time to level up. But with that glitch it might be a good thing?

It is a rule here not to use a hacked rom. Check the submission rules page. Sorry.

I can agree that it is a bit boring. But it is the most effective way in winning the Royal rumble. Where the rules is simple, just toss all of the opponents out of the ring. :) Maby I should make a run for a brawl instead, where the goal is to force the opponent into submission. Instant win when the life bar goes out. Hehe.

Well.. Get three people to play then. It would eleminate the other two characters to get stuck. :) And what I mean is that you can level up your magic at the bosses. Since frequent use of magic will pay off sooner or later. You will just need to use the faery walnut alot. It would take too long to level all magics needed. The girl woulden't really need to level her magics. The only one she really needs is perhaps undine's cure. Those sabre spells would come in handy at bosses though. But for sure you woulden't need to level them since that would be a waste of time. In speed runs you will need to find alternative solutions to problems, right? It would probably be hard as hell to finish this game at low levels. I know for sure that having gnome up a couple of levels would kill that moving wall in the ruins very quick. I don't even think it beginns to move if you train that spell as far as you can at that moment. Still though you would need to find other solutions.

Could any one please take this game up again? Also.. I don't think you would need to level up that much. Levels will come as you go through the game. When you need magic levels you will use that in battle instead of weapons. But always keep on moving forward. Otherwise this game would be very boring. Also, since you won't be taking so many hits due to re-recording and stuff, you woulden't need to buy armour until later in the game. I don't think armour is giving you more than defence in this game. So you woulden't have any other stats affected by it. Furthermore I think you gain some XP from bosses. I remember gaining levels from them atleast. Not sure that it will be sufficent, hehe.. I more or less know that for a fact. But running a game includes astonishing moves and taking risks and pulling stuff off you woulden't be doing if playing normally. I think this would be a very nice run. But it do for sure require ALOT of planning. Really hoping that someone will pick this up. Don't forget to read the guides and glitch faqs and what ever you can come up with. :) Just keep in mind, never stop to level up since that would be hell of a boring thing to do.
