Aesthetic is subjective. Is the game fun to watch?

I think people are more tolerant of boring runs if they have played the game and can appreciate all the details. Less known games have to offer a lot more to the viewer simply because the viewer doesn't know what it looks like normally.

I don't think you should finish it. I'm sure it's perfectly played but it's very boring to watch with all those loooong (for a TAS) fixed delays.

I think that has been a stock feature since R-Type. Not sure how long the timeout was.

I know the original R-Type didn't have any barriers like that, maybe changing games is necessary to fulfill that goal?

Hm, is there some arbitrary limit to when your "walk on water" boots work? You walk over large stretches of water but later you use a bridge instead of going over the river next to it.

Use a video editor and splice the avis for the game runs together.

I think "press aim diagonally up" is just a fancy term for "push R"

Tub: You mention the X-Ray Scope. Has that item become important somehow or can it still be skipped for a TAS?

Does the crystal flash stop time? I suppose triggering it before the beam hits wouldn't do anything?

Does it have any possible sequence breaks or is it as linear as Metroid Fusion?

Boco: It just sounded like you had to redo the space station sequence each time you died.

I'm no good at knowing what's optimal and even I could spot big flaws in it. Often when using a megabomb you don't use your momentum properly and take too long to turn around, usually you stop because of some hazard right when the MB runs out (and I have that feeling that it wouldn't have run out if you had moved more optimal). I've also seen you jump into a pit accidentally, wasting time, in one of the later levels. Attempting to punch and repeatedly missing enemies. Failed jump attempts because you e.g. hadn't cleared the ceiling yet. Taking damage on the final boss for no obvious reason. Overall I think the game is a big problem as well, it's just so sloppily made and slow that even a perfect TAS wouldn't look very interesting.

It's not necessary to explain your vote but if your vote was motivated by reasons not already listed in the thread it would be a big help for everyone (especially the submitter) if those reasons were explained.

Ah, so you need an upgrade for walljumping. Maybe he could, I dunno, TELL YOU about that? Also the solution was to run through an unmarked wall. Clever. Expect the user to guess what you had on your mind and give him clues that he's supposed to do something completely different. Not that I'm going to continue, I hate walljumps in Metroid games so I'm not going to play a hack that requires them regularly. As for TASability, is there any form of sequence breaking possible?

I hate how the increased gravity forces you to constantly dash if you want to make any jump. The number of shots needed for even the smallest enemies is insane, the hack has devolved the game to Metroid levels. And I'm stuck because I can't walljump properly. Can't even manage a single jump in this hack.

I do think the length was at fault as well. There are long stretches of uninteresting walking at Kiwi speed and even longer stretches of sloooooooooooow swimming underwater.

Oh, yes, Wacky Sports... I could never beat Baseball because I didn't know how you aim the ball and now my cart is missing. Wouldn't make for an interesting run, though.

Bag: Yes because the previous version was unbearably long. Also the previous run lacked the floor/wall glitch and the flying IIRC.

Wait, is that the same as the PS2 game of the same name that's currently sold in stores?
