Aw, it got rejected! I had hoped that spinning them would make it good enough to be accepted, but I guess not. Oh well. Thank you all for watching, and if you did not enjoy it then I hope you at least enjoyed our submission text!

The best average records are 2.45, 9.21, and 42.01, respectively. The times in our submission text are the fastest single records, which is what OmnipotentEntity was trying to tell you. However, the 2x2x2 cube we solved would be rescrambled if it turned up in an official competition, so comparing those times might be pointless.

The 4x4x4 cube could almost certainly be solved faster, but finding a better solution is impractical because of how many combinations there are. Someone might write a better program someday, but FiveStage444 is the best we could find for now. (Incidentally, the solution it gave us was actually 73 moves, and I shortened it to 71. It also gives up to eight unique solutions for the same cube depending on its orientation. It even says that it is not likely to give the most optimal solution right in the instructions!) If the game generates cubes by applying a list of moves, you could just reverse those moves to solve them much faster. But neither of us know how to do that, and for all we know the game might just have a list of pre-scrambled cubes that it chooses from.

Only thing is that I bet I could find a youtube video of someone solving a rubix cube faster than this TAS was able to show.
Only if they tool-assisted just one of the cubes or spent a lot of in-game time luck-manipulating a better set because all three of the solves in this movie are faster than the unassisted world records. I should probably go add the times to the submission text, huh?

Nope! The one I know of is Rubik's World, which I was keeping a secret until today. But another game that uses them is another reason to record them!

I also vote no. Kumquat should have spent at least three more hours looking for faster cubes.

I actually made a thread about the DS's firmware settings a few weeks ago, but no one has responded so far. And when I asked adelikat before that, he told me to make a thread, so... But yes, there is at least one DS game with an RNG that is affected by your name, comment, and language, and there are several that do things on your birthday. I think we should be allowed to change them however we like (within the system's limitations, of course), and they should be recorded in the movie file.

On the DS, you have the option of entering your name, a short comment, your favorite color, and your birthday, and you can choose which language to use. As far as I know, they are properly implemented in DeSmuME (under Config -> Firmware Settings), but they are not recorded in the .dsm when you make a movie. There is at least one game where the RNG is affected by them, so they need to be recorded in the movie file. (Which game it is is a surprise, but I will give you a hint: colors play an important role.)

I vote for alden because Umbreon is not Breloom, and also because his name starts with a lowercase letter. PS Dragon-types are immune to Sarcasm-type attacks. You obviously watched the animé instead of actually playing the games!

Do you mean this video, which demonstrates passing through walls in Super Mario World?

I am glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I had to shoot all of those enemies to avoid being hit. There was also an enemy that I could have used arrows against instead of my sword (the blue...thing in my way between the second and third statues), but I always had bad luck in the later rooms when I used arrows. There are only five towers, but you have to do a few things between each of them. I am really not sure how long it will take. And I might have to stop at some point to grind for experience or gold, but I really hope not. The King actually gets turned into stone and stays that way for most of the game, so he will not be sending me on very many silly quests. Of course, everyone else still can...

Here. (YouTube.) A few notes: •The name "TAS   " is slower than "AAAAAA" by 87 frames. •Each sword swing can only hit one enemy. •Holding any direction when you attack with a sword will result in a faster attack (you only stop moving for 6 frames). •Holding any direction while hitting an enemy with your sword will give you a 25% Strength bonus (rounded down). •I avoided damage boosting if it would cause the low-health beeping to start. •Moving to another area seems to be the only way to manipulate random encounters and enemy positions in areas and rooms without enemies. •Items I bought:   •Wings (x6): These let you fly back to any town you have visted. I think I will need ten in total.   •Hyperspeed1: Increases your movement speed in battles and towers (by 50%, I think).   •Flash Ball: Lets you escape a tower or cave.   •Dirk: A sword that adds 13 Strength.   •30 Arrows: While no one was looking, Kumquat bought thirty arrows. She bought 30 arrows. That is as many as three tens! And they are terribly weak.

I added annotations to my Tails' Sky Patrol video on YouTube. (I think I may have added a few too many...) How do I make subtitles that can be used with the videos downloaded from this site?

How about "This is the sentence which you must repeat."

Words.
A valid answer, but I doubt "someone with the intelligence and naïveté of a computer" – the intended recipient of the question, according to Swedishmartin – would respond like that. I think they would parse "What am I saying?" as a request for what I am saying, and what I am saying is "What am I saying?" Also, "Metal Gear?"

I think Any% would be the best choice for a low-glitch run. 100% would take too long and Low% would just be Any% without Speed Boots or Sonic. The route for Any% with the goal "Does not change Tails's position while the Remote Robot is in use" is something like this:
    1: Poloy Forest
•Collect Red Chaos Emerald. •Defeat the boss and collect Remote Robot. •Complete the area then immediately re-enter it. •Collect Speed Boots •Leave.
    2: Volcanic Tunnel
•Collect Remote Bomb. •Collect Green Chaos Emerald. •Complete the area.
    3: Polly Mt. 1
•Complete the area and collect Purple Chaos Emerald.
4: Tails' House / Lake Rocky
•Equip nothing and immediately go to Lake Rocky. •Follow the path to Cavern Island.
    5: Cavern Island
•Collect Mine. •Collect Napalm Bomb. •Defeat the boss, collect Anti-Air Missile, and leave.
6*: Tails' House / Poloy Forest
•Equip Napalm Bomb over either Regular Bomb or Remote Bomb and go to Poloy Forest. •Follow the path to Caron Forest.
    7*: Caron Forest
      •Collect Sonic. •Leave the area.
8: Tails' House / Lake Rocky
•Equip Sonic over Speed Boots for Tails, and Vulcan Gun, Anti-Air Missile, and Mine for his submarine. •Go to Lake Rocky and follow the path to Green Island.
    9: Green Island
•Collect Extra Speed. •Leave the area.
10: Tails' House / Lake Rocky
•Equip Extra Speed and go to Lake Rocky. •Follow the path to Lake Crystal.
    11: Lake Crystal / Polly Mt. 2
•Go through Lake Crystal to Polly Mt. 2. •Collect Large Bomb. •Leave the area.
    12: Tails' House / Polly Mt. 1
•Equip Large Bomb over Napalm Bomb and go to Polly Mt. 1. •Collect Rocket Booter. •Leave the area.
13: Tails' House / Lake Rocky
•Equip Rocket Booter over Extra Speed and go to Lake Rocky. •Follow the path to Coco Island.
14: Coco Island / Battle Fortress
•Complete these areas and the game!
*I am not completely sure if collecting Sonic saves time, but I think it will.
(I would not be surprised if it winds up being slower than glitched 100%.)

Surprise! (YouTube!) I improved Poloy Forest by 105 frames, but I got a little lazy halfway through Polly Mt.1 because I have to start over from Volcanic Tunnel to add a time saver I missed. I decided to rush through it so all of you can see something now instead of something only a few seconds faster a week from now. Also, I changed the ROM's name because the GoodGG name is wrong. Is that okay?

Yes, but I want it to be a surprise. And you just ruined it I hate you. In other news, I think I found Bag of Magic Food's "jump into a corner and warp out of the level" glitch, but I have no idea why it happens.

  • Fissure (Ray) (Range scales with casting time): Affected hexes are turned into holes and players cannot stand on them. (Players already on an affected hex must choose an adjacent hex to jump to. If they cannot...I guess they fall and die? That seems too powerful. Maybe they take damage and have to spend a turn climbing out?)
  • Pitfall (Ball) (1 turn = 1 hex, 3 turns = 7 hexes, and 6 turns = 19 hexes.): Affected hexes are turned into holes.
  • Leech (Any within range): Steal health from one player. (Range is equal to the number of turns it was charged.)
  • Mirror (Player): Mimics the last spell played by the target player. (You get to choose a new target and how long to charge it. Mirror itself does not have a casting time.)
  • Barrier (Player) (Lasts one turn for every three turns it was charged.): Neither you nor the space you are on can be affected by spells.
  • Float (Player) (Lasts one turn for every turn it was charged.): You are unaffected by the effects of abnormal hexes and spells that target the ground. (Barrier will no longer protect the hex you are on.)
  • Stone Shoes (Player) (Lasts one turn for every two turns it was charged.): You cannot move except by the effects of Teleport or Blink.
  • Amnesia (Player): Choose one of the cards in the target's hand and remove it from play. Return it to their hand after a number of turns has passed equal to the number of turns this spell was charged.
  • Time Stop (All) (Lasts one turn for every two turns it was charged.): The casting timers for every spell currently being charged no longer decrement each turn.
"All" affects every applicable target. For Wall's direction, you could just rotate the card when you play it. Have you decided what the size of the field will be?

I agree that each mode should be a separate submission. In addition to nico's example, I would like to know what will happen if Baxter submits his TAS and I later submit a Touch Tower TAS (assuming he does not change his mind and include Touch Tower in his).

I believe it is actually a screenshot from an NES without a game inserted. Edit: Or with an improperly inserted game, or the ROM that mimics the effect.
