Didn't watch it. Voted no. I don't consider the game beaten when only 1 cup is played. EDIT: I realize the question asks "Did you like watching this movie" but in the end it still just means "Do you think this should be published".

I say weak because some of the things just dont seem frame perfect
I admit that not everything in my movie is frame perfect, but not many of my errors should be easily visible. Anyway, I quickly went over my movie and took snapshots of the biggest improvements: (In my movie I first bump the block, then go through. It should be possible to just go through the first time) This would be an especially big timesaver, but I just couldn't get this to work when I was making the movie I don't know if this is possible Anyway, I've been trying to get people to improve my movie for a long time now, so I hope you're up to the task.

I'd be very interested to hear your suggestions. I don't really know what you mean by 'really weak' but I do know of some improvements, the biggest one being better Hammer Bros. manipulation (and use of scrolling borders to skip them). I would be very glad to see someone try to improve my run. EDIT: Oh, and there are some major shortcuts I missed (because I thought them impossible). I started a v2 myself a while back but the file was destroyed in a hard drive crash. If all the shortcuts I think I missed can be used and all the Hammer Bros. in world 6 can be skipped, I expect that there is several minutes worth of improvement in my run. EDIT#2: The notes I made for v2 can be found here: http://tasvideos.org/Kyrsimys/MarioAdventure.html

I am glad the rules were changed to favor the (U) versions of ROMs. Even though the rule is still a bit loose and not as absolute as I'd like and most people will still probably ignore the part about posting at the forums, it's still better than what it used to be.

What the hell? Do you really think it makes a difference that you write a couple extra sentences in your submission text and improve the movie by a few seconds? This is still a no.

It's a 20-minute movie. He said he made it in 20 minutes.

This site is NOT for pure speedruns. This site is for emulator runs that ABUSE SAVE-STATES and SLOWDOWN in order to create the PERFECT playthrough. Read the http://tasvideos.org/WhyAndHow.html and http://tasvideos.org/FAQ.html. If you wish to make pure speedruns without slowdown or saves, go to www.speeddemosarchive.com

I say publish this one and establish a rule that all future movies must use the (U) version. I prefer (U) versions in general, so that's just me. Should you choose to reject this, the rules must be altered because as JXQ has stated, this submission does meet the conditions given for a version change at the rules page. Kinda feels like screwing JXQ & CB over, though. I don't think having two almost identical movies published at the same time just because of very minor version changes is a good idea. As has been said, it would set a bad precedent and create further chaos and disagreement.

This argument is stupid, the only reason that we're even having this debate is because Phil just doesn't want his friend's TAS obsoleted and is acting like a big baby. I usually like how you are direct and straight to the point, Phil, but it's really getting old and annoying that you can never admit that someone has obsoleted your (or Genisto's) movie. Defending every single run you or Genisto ever made is just not cool when someone's clearly beaten your time. As for the version debate, can we PRETTY PLEASE FINALLY get an absolute rule about which version to use? Is it really so hard? How about this for a rule: Always use the (U) ROM if available. When trying to obsolete a movie, use the same ROM as the previous author. If you wish to use a different ROM, discuss the change with Bisqwit BEFOREHAND. Inability to do so WILL result in immediate rejection (this should of course be actually enforced). EDIT: Haha, ciderprojekt.

Wow, a lot of discussion about my nickname. Bisqwit is correct, the 'r' sound is not supposed to be an approximant but a trill (like every 'r' in Finnish) and the 'y' sound simply does not exist in English. I can see how English-speakers might pronounce my name as "christmas" because there really is no other sensible way to quickly pronounce it in English. In Finnish the name is quite easy and straightforward to pronounce. For information about the 'y' sound, see wikipedia articles for Significance in the IPA and Close front rounded vowel. For a sound sample, click here.

DK64_MASTER: I think you misunderstood. This thread is about rating published movies, not about voting on submissions. I think that ratings should be public. If you're not willing to stand by the ratings you give, you shouldn't be rating anything.

How did you come to this conclusion?
A quick search on YouTube under "funny stunts" shows that of the top 20 results, at least half of them have over 3,000 views. One even has over 750,000 views.
You misunderstood me a bit, my point wasn't that idiotic stunts aren't popular, it was that they don't make me feel any more secure in any way. And I don't quite sign your claim about escapism, I just really enjoy watching stupid people getting hurt. Looking forward to your next article.

How did you come to this conclusion? I wouldn't say that the reason I laugh at Jackass-stunts is that it makes me feel more secure. I just enjoy watching people hurt themselves.

I have to agree, pure awesome moozooh. I'm glad the version was changed to the one that most people are familiar with. Watching later.

Why not just list the submissions and published movies of the player? For example Submissions: 5 Published: 5 Neutral, short, informative. Right?

How are the controls in redesign any more imprecise than in the original? It's been a while since I played redesign but I can't remember anything different in the controls other than the added gravity. The only thing I disliked in redesign was the morph ball crappiness. IBJing was way too hard and the bomb counter was really annoying, just like it was in Prime.

If you hated it, why don't you vote no? Voting according to your feelings helps the community; not voting because you don't want to vote no just hurts the community.

My guess is that if you did a mockball you'd be out of the room way before the explosion. Besides, Samus would still lose her momentum when uncurling, it would just happen a bit later.

Well then, I'll clear it up for you. It's actually "begs the question" and the way in which you used it made no sense whatsoever. To educate yourself further, read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Begging_the_question

It's too bad I don't have my very first version of the MM6 TAS any more. It would probably be hilarious (in a sad way) to watch it now. My second version is of course available here. The first version was over a minute slower than that first published version. Both versions were done on Famtasia WITHOUT the 60fps patch (it had been released about 2 weeks earlier but I had not updated my Famtasia) meaning that only 1/3 of the frames accepted input, which was quite painful. Of course there was no frame advance or such gadgets back then. If anyone still has my first version, feel free to post it here. It was finished on the 1st of May 2004 and never distributed widely (Microstorage didn't exist!), so I doubt anyone still has it.
