This is my first WIP of S3&K: Maximum Rings. I don't get the ring boxes in the run becauase I wouldn't really count them as "rings". There are certain rings that can't be collected; so I only get the ones that are possible. Link to video

There is little to no point for making an entire new thread just for a hack. Feel free to post it in the Sonic Hacks thread.

any chance of this being optimized further? assuming above is true, the following levels fit in the 24-30 timeframe: Aquatic Ruin 2 - 0:27::16 Hill Top 1 - 0:24::25 Oil Ocean 2 - 0:29::20 so sonic could either wait at the start/end of each level
That just kills the entertainment value. Whether it is faster (In real time) or not.

And just like that, Romulo showed me another way to improve the previous run. Behold, the 2 second improvement of HTZ 2. Link to video

Hello, this is mine and Qwerty's run on HTZ act 2. It is in 47 seconds. I presume this is still improvable. :) Link to video

Hello, I've found another improvement for this run. This is on HT 2. I shaved about 5 seconds off with a new route. This is still improvable. Here it is: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/661526921/s2k-htz_noring.gmv

Great improvements on all those levels, just one thing I'd like to ask: It would be faster to keep hitting the HTZ boss by jumping from one of the walls to the sides and grab the wall again?
Not a bad idea, I suggest we should take that idea into consideration.

Wow, this topic is more popular than I expected... Anyways, I found a way to shave off about 10 frames in CPZ 1. Even though I haven't changed barely anything, the fact still remains that it is an improvement. Here it is: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1137525851/S2K%20no-ring%20new%20WIP.gmv

OK, I just wanted to let yall know that I can't really improve CPZ 2, let alone tie the record. So if somebody can do CPZ 2 again, please do so. I will post the new GMV when I have the time.

I just improved CPZ 1 by a few frames. I will not release the GMV file yet because I am currently also optimizing the second act.

@MarzoJr you said " is already heavily frowned upon in the hacking scene" you mean I have to stop Tasing sonic 3 & knuckles master edition 2?
You don't have to stop, but don't count on TASvideos.org to accept your submission. The hack isn't that great after all due to it being discontinued.

Link to video Another run. Since this is just a level speedrun and not part of the whole game, this speedrun isn't useful for the full game TAS. Because there was a glitch found by Nineko about 5-7 years ago that can entirely skip act 2.

Link to video Here is my run on AIZ 2 w/ Tails. There are some mistakes that can be fixed, and this also has the checkpoint trick.

Qwerty and I are starting a new TAS. It's a ringless run with Knuckles. Here is the first WIP, it is short, but contains some creative tactics. Link to video

Funny. I was literally thinking yesterday (What if someone did a warpless run on NSMB on DS?) Wow, that was the most unexpected. Definite yes vote.

Link to video Since Sonic Classic Heroes has been recently updated, I decided to do a TAS for that version.

Yes, but have you considered of trying some Amy and Tails? Just because you did a comparison of the full game TAS doesn't mean that the time tables are the same with amy and tails. Just saying.

There's always SprintGod's old TAS. While it wasn't made with the latest tools it's still quite high-quality. Alas it does use the "look down, then jump up" zip technique, but most of the levels are still played normally.
Yes but those levels could be improved. Especially after all of these years, we've discovered new routes.

Even though there are a ton of S3&K TAS' out there already, I think that a "no zip" run would be pleasant to see. Considering there is one for sonic 1 (which was amazing)
