Is it possible to keep save data over multiple recordings? I need to keep it as unlock videos for a future run that uses the 100% bonuses.

So since there's like, 4 TAS' total for this game I decided to start running it. This game is open to exploits and possibilities, it's incredible. The one issue with the EO version is that you can't abuse Roll Cancels. But that's mitigate by the fact that you're TASing so it's not necessary. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/30883677340696873 Link to video http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/30819387883045936 Link to video

Caught it when it was uploaded but never noticed it was on the forums. Great stuff! Here's a WIP of a run I'm making. For some reason userfiles won't accept it. Link to video

Obviously what I thought was fairly optimized turns out it wasn't. I actually spent a good amount of time on this but obviously I missed some things. This was actually my third time making it and I thought I had figured it out but Spike shows that there's obviously more work to do. I'm going to go ahead and get this cancelled and post an updated version later.

Well, I figured it out. Opening the game menu causes the desyncs, which means I have to play on the normal difficulty.

Found the title amusing enough to give the game a shot. Very old school game in the vein of Karate and Yei Aire Kung Fu. Has a couple of good movement tricks for easy optimization. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/28679700759914001 Also, it features the single greatest boos ever: JOHNATHAN - THE FLOATING PAIR OF BRIGHT PURPLE SWEAT PANTS!

The greatest game you've never played. In short, it's a budget title released in Europe and bootlegged to some parts of the US and Asia. The GBA version seems a bit better due to the fact the music is varied a bit more and there isn't any loading times. Current wip: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/28641926819386188 Link to video

You must have pulled off some black magic just to get the damn game to work properly in FBA. I'm not very familiar with KOF but this was a good watch, but I feel like there were some things that could have been done to improve the TAS as a whole.

I don't want to be the constant looming negativity in this thread but I need to say by watching your TASing technique, and the fact that your latest WIP (which is 30 minutes of gameplay) took you a day to make and only used 1277 re-records, that I call tell you that this TAS is not up to the standards of this website and will most likely not be accepted upon submission, if that is your expectation. Your aiming during the game is constantly jerking around, showing that you are not optimizing your inputs very well, and your pathing angles (which are paramount in any game) are sometimes wide and not thought-out. At 10:52 in your first WIP you even begin to briefly turn to the right to go down a hall but then change your mind and turn left which shows your are not planning ahead and are leaving in mistakes, which TASes are intended to be void of. The overall feel I get of the TAS so far is that of a good playthrough with above average aiming, but not an optimized or well-planned speedrun. I'm not telling you that you should give up on the TAS, but if your goal is to submit to this site you may want to chalk it up as good practice for a more optimized product later.
It's not for submission, it's just to get material out there.

So are you having problems only with certain games? I literally have the same problem with Super Street Fighter II Turbo, generally desyncs when playback the file but according to my tests and what was already said in the support this may be caused by game choice or by the emulator. In my case as example the problem was the game choice, SSF2X doesn't work fully because some characters desyncs than other, my conclusions was both for emulator and game. But I would suggest what I've already said on Youtube comment and putting the compatibility on the fba.exe to winxp sp3 or win7, seriously this solve some problems with FBA in some games while I was having some troubles trying some certain games to work. *edit: I'd suggest to try running and doing some movie tests on another FBA versions to take more knowledge of what are happening.
Glad to see you came over from the YT comments. Put it into xp sp3 mode and doesn't really make a difference other than sometimes states load a bit faster. Replaying with other versions doesn't seem to matter either. Maybe I'm just super unlucky.

I don't intend to. I just used it to make sure that Dolphin wouldn't fuck up on me again after talking to some of the IRC guys.

Nothing about that looked TAS'd but this also has nothing to do with the main gameplay... so let us see what you've got by TASing the story. I would look into the Timesplitters speedrunning community, specifically the forum on Speedrun.com to get advice on all the best strats. "JangBang" seems to be the best current player: http://www.speedrun.com/ts3#Hard_Anypc , perhaps try contacting him and studying his latest runs.
Trust me if you play the cat racing minigame you'll understand just how TAS'd that really is. Worst driving in any game ever. Also, I'll look into it, thank you for the link! I am going for a no skips run though, as most single player runs abuse major map skips. (Skipping Deer Haunter and most of 1994 for example)

So now that I've gotten Dolphin to work I've decided to revisit one of my favorite games of all time. It's a fairly linear game, with plenty of action and tons of weird challenges with varied gameplay to mess around with. As a proof of concept I went ahead and recorded the "Pussy Racing" challenges before going through the main game. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/28156728977999833 Link to video

Right, well obviously you guys dislike the sound glitch. I figured that due to the frame saves and the smoother gameplay it would be preferred but obviously I was wrong. I'll make sure to not repeat the same mistake down the road.

But that means it isn't a speed/entertainment tradeoff. It is the correct choice for aiming for fastest time. What speed/entertainment tradeoffs are there?
The fact that there's no music would be the most obvious. That and on the final race I deliberately wreck and run across the finish line to in rather than race properly. edit: Went ahead and removed / cleaned up some of the desc info at the advice of some of the IRC guys.
