Just for fun, I gave myself unlimited Gil and proceed to buy/synthesize 99 of each items. I was not even done with it and already crossed the 60 millions Gil spent. Now let's say that in average with proper luck a TASed game of Chocobo Hot and Cold would give us 50 000 Gils per 50 seconds (counting time between games). So earning 60 millions would take 16 hours 45 minutes.... Not only nobody would ever watch 17 hours of Chocobo Hot and Cold, but I'm not going through 300 hours of TASing only this... I might be crazy but not that much :p So yeap, just confirming that I'm not going to go for 99 of each items.

Thanks ! So I liked the movie, so I'm voting yes, however I'm slightly disappointed by the lack of playaround while waiting for the clock tower to open. I feel like much more could have been done instead of just not moving in front.

Stupid question, but is it somehow possible to bring a grey P-Switch through a pipe and have it still act like a Grey P-Switch instead of a blue one ?

If you watched the previous one, there's no need to watch this one. I'm basically just doing commentaries as people asked for them but the movie has been sitting on my Desktop for ages. The differences are minor. I did the mining mini-game and the find the right Nero brother in Alexandria. Corrected the mistake in Disc 3 when Zidane wakes up that saves 8 seconds. Slightly different strategies against bosses (using Quina Add Status to put them to Sleep which saves a lot of time). Fighting Optional Bosses way later when we're stronger. Using Friendly Yan to grind AP. Used Save and Load manipulation for Tetra Master RNG. This brought down the number of games to 108 for a perfect deck instead of 184 ! And reached Perfect Stats for the Ogre and Gargant Card which were wrong. I decided against 99 of each item as that's what prevented me from finishing the last TAS. It would involve a lot of Chocobo Hot N Cold as it's the fastest way to make money (and is required for 99 Protect Ring). Considering it takes me around 15 minutes to TAS one game and I would need a couple hundreds you can see why. But I could still go for it if somebody is motivated to write a good bot doing it by itself.

You probably realized it since you later said it worked, but you also don't want to use a fish in slot 7 since this is the slot the Reznor must take in order to it to function properly.
Yes, this part I knew, but thank you anyway :)

Thanks ! I tried that and it also didn't work, but now that I knew this, I figured it out. It's because I needed to spit out the fish with the Down button pressed too and not just X/Y.

Hello everybody. Can somebody help me figure out how to do the spawn Reznor glitch ? I have Yoshi in slot 6 P-Switch in slot 8 2 horizontal fishes in slot 9 and 7 in water. I do the double-tongue glitch, once on the P-switch, and catch-cancel the Fish in slot 7 with the second. So I think that now the fish is stunned right ? But when I spit it out, nothing happens, no Reznor, it's just the fish flopping around. I've seen a video performing it in this exact level so I know it's possible. What am I missing here ? Thanks.

Funnily enough, I was searching for a TAS of this game last week. And now it's here ! I've been really impressed by the result. It's obvious a lot of research and work have been put in this movie. And Oxide Station was like WTF is going on :) It's a huge YES vote from me, and thanks a lot for having done this !

Am still looking for any info on what to do. Lol I just realized I linked to Majora's Mask for the first code... Whoops! Still, the PJ64 codes for OoT don't work or rather they work but not correctly, it makes you always levitate instead of only when holding L. Edit: looks like only 811DAA90 40CB code works while the D01C84B5 0020 code is what is unsupported and that is what ties the behaviour to the L button.
A gameshark code starting with D means it's a condition. It means "When the value of 801C84B5 is 0020 then do the code underneath" which is write the value 40CB to 811DAA90. If you want this to work you will have to write a Lua script. EDIT :
Language: lua

while true do if mainmemory.readbyte(0x01C84B5)==0x20 then mainmemory.write_u16_le(0x01DAA90,0xCB40); end; emu.frameadvance(); end;
Note that 0x20 is the value of L being pressed but you can change this value if you want another button

I don't have time to make a big answer now but yeah, while true do .... emu.frameadvance() end is just use for the script to be always active. You use it only once in the main file. If you just want to add lines inside a script, you don't want to add them again.

Hmm. I tried playing SFA3 with the script I wrote. If I declare the variable "a" at the begining like this :
Language: lua

t = {10,21,30,31}; a=0; while true do curr = memory.readbyte(0xFF8502); for i=1,4 do if curr == t[i] then a=i; end; end; if memory.readword(0xFF8060)==1 then memory.writebyte(0xFF8502,t[(a%4)+1]); end; emu.frameadvance(); end;
This script alone works as expected with no error. So I don't know really. Maybe if you post the whole code ?

Try this maybe :
Language: lua

t = {10,21,30,31}; while true do curr = memory.readbyte(0xFF8502); for i=1,4 do if curr == t[i] then a=i; end; end; if memory.readword(0xFF8060)==1 then memory.writebyte(0xFF8502,t[(a%4)+1]); end; emu.frameadvance(); end;

You can just use "while".
Language: lua

if memory.readbyte(0xFF000A)~=0 then while memory.readbyte(0xFF000A)~=0 do emu.frameadvance(); end; while memory.readbyte(0xFF000A)==0 do emu.frameadvance(); end; function(); end;
Haven't tested but I think it should work.

Hmmm, I'm not familiar with Dolphin but if you always replay the same movie from Power-On, you should have the same result everytime I think. So your issue is most likely a desync problem.

Thank you for your response. I don't mean to submit anything, it was just for my own TASing purpose. I just wanted to know if it was worth going through the trouble of downloading softwares and installing Linux on my old machine. It may be easy, but all this process seems (maybe wrongly) complicated to me.

This is gonna be stupid questions, but, a lot of things go way above my head. With LibTAS, you can only TAS games that are available in Linux version, right ? Because a game is available on Steam, doesn't mean you can TAS it ? I just read about something called Proton that would allow Windows games to be played on Linux. Can we use this to TAS Windows games with LibTAS ?
