The TAS desynced because I loaded a savestate I made before changing some stuff in the .dtm through a hex editor, and I didn't realize it apparently. For the Chapter 6 skip: In Chapter 8 after Riddle Tower, there is a room where you need to Spring Jump and enter a loading zone to the right. There are also spikes in that room. You can do a Ms. Mowzz glitch and double jump out of it to get on the seam. From here you can get underneath the spikes and the second set of spikes. Basically we need a way to get higher so we can Mowzz glitch while getting hit by the spikes. You can actually jump while activating her, but it's not high enough for the spikes' hitbox to affect Mario.

Just finished the TAS! It will be streamed live on http://twitch.tv/almolicious early to mid July! Exact date TBD. We are also on the verge of a Chapter 6 skip. More info + video tomorrow. EDIT: TAS actually desynced, so I will have to spend quite some time redoing the end.

Stryder7x just found a wrong warp in Paper Mario using Upgrade Storage Glitch, notorious for its random and odd effects after performing the glitch. One performance of the glitch just resulted in a wrong warp to a cutscene that occurs after Chapter 5. The game crashes during a cutscene transition afterwards though, possibly because the game becomes confused as to what it's supposed to load next. Link to video

You can't superslide on doors because the loading zone takes you into the next room like always.

1. It's slower. 2. I haven't looked into other versions. 3. What the heck do you mean? 4. I can't skip to chapter 7 because tube chest wouldn't be open. So I've reached chapter 5 in the TAS. I'm making progress fast, and after hex editing most of the run back, I expect this to be done in a few weeks. Expect encodes and a stream to be ready mid July.

I don't think I'll be posting WIPs, since the only changes from the previous run will essentially be the tricks I mentioned before. I'll probably upload an optimized Yoshi Skip though.

I'm currently at the 100 Jabbi fight working on getting better RNG.

Update time! I have a faster Hooktail battle strategy that saved a few seconds, and I incorporated a respawn glitch after the Shadow Sirens fight in Chapter 2. (The other oob trick did not save time.) I'm now working on Chapter 2 over 4 seconds ahead, but there's a problem. My old TAS keeps desyncing in the first trip through the bubble room because I lose 5/11 punies. I don't know why it keeps happening, nor how I was able to sync it last time. I've tried using both the 4.0.2 vanilla and A/v sync versions with no success. I could either go on without a reference to my old TAS or wait for someone to figure out what I'm doing wrong or give me a savestate at the end of the room. This also makes me afraid of the possibility of having a desync like this occur again for a judge or encoder.

Thank you for researching all those scenarios! I tried spring jumping and encountering the Z-Yux On Sublevel 2 in X-Naut Fortress in front of the elevator, but for some reason when I respawn, the game shifts my position to the right and resets the Z position to the center of the hallway.

Cronikeys said she will be coming back to testing in this game, though she has to deal with IRL stuff. There may very well be new tricks later!

Actually I'm 99% sure Mario falls back down if he enters a battle after spring jumping. With the double jump glitch though, his Y position is frozen mid-battle.

Sure Anty-Lemon! I need to see if I can fix a few graphical issues that appear in the newest version, but I will make sure I use the latest dev version. Partner attacks are cancelled when you spring jump, so it won't work. The partners towards you when you start winding up a spring. I'll be working on a quick TAS to see exactly how much this saves. If it saves 16 minutes, I can get sub 4 hours. If not, I will most likely wait for another trick before starting... We'll see.

I apologize for any mistakes in writing this; it's almost 2am. Welp, using a new trick that allows Mario to jump after leaving a battle, we can now cross the gap in the sewers by the Chapter 4 pipe. The set-up: Using Koops below the two platforms, keeping him there, guiding a Spinia towards him, and jumping onto the bottles in the back left between the platforms Then you must Spin Jump and release Koops so he hits the Spinia as Mario begins to Spin Jump. Spin jumping right before entering the battle allows Mario to jump for one frame after leaving the battle. Doing so at the right height allows Mario to gain enough height to make it to the left side. Since we can do this, Yoshi is no longer required to reach Chapter 4. This means that the chapter 3 route: Bookcase Jump, Macho Grubba, Chapter 4! Also, you get Yoshi back after defeating Doopliss, so not much time will be lost from walking with Mario instead or riding Yoshi. How much time does this save? It's an estimate of 10 minutes, but we're not really sure yet. RTA viable? Maybe??? It's pretty difficult and time-consuming. TL;DR - We can skip Yoshi = basically no more chapter 3

Sub 1:30 will definitely happen when emulation improves in the future, but I do want to work on All Cards as well. We'll see :P

I used the hammer and jumped on every loading zone mainly for entertainment purposes.

I've seen someone run it in the past, but I forget their name. I highly doubt it was anywhere close to an optimal route though.

I apologize for not submitting yet. I've been spending some time on some special encoded with commentary and overlay + subtitles. It'll all be ready by Friday! :D EDIT: And about 100% it's kinda hard to define, and it would be very long and boring because of Chuck Quizmo quizzes and recipes.
