User movie #64671414647153475 4:29 IGT is slower than [1354] SNES Super Puyo Puyo 2 by pirohiko in 03:34.72 at 1:58 IGT. Differences being Special Rule, no offsetting, chain limiter of 2, 0 sec. margin time. I like the arcade-y sound of the Mega Drive. Sound to type A for uninterrupted music.

DS emulation controls are configured improperly. Windows does NOT have a Return key. It's Enter. We shouldn't have to plug a Mac keyboard into a PC.

SubNESHawk renders subframes and it looks like it's moving at half speed. You can set the speed to 200% for it to go the normal speed. Also, you should have a monitor with a 120 Hz refresh rate (100 Hz refresh rate for PAL games) to see all the frames. Alternatively you can use Vsync throttle and set the refresh rate to 2x the refresh rate a standard TV can produce.

The menu shortcut key crashes the emulator. It's supposed to open the right-click menu. It's located to the left of the right Ctrl key on the keyboard.

Since now we can have 4 games running at the same time, how about doing a co-op diploma for all 4 versions. Of course it'll all be in Japanese since only 3 versions were localized overseas. The Japanese versions are incompatible with the overseas versions. On the 3DS versions, they added region locking in the communications so the Japanese 3DSes can't communicate with the overseas 3DSes specifically to these versions of Pokemon.

Oh well, my tun wasn't as great anyway... At least I showed a menu glitch. It took me 7 years of occasional attempts as it was hard to luck manipulate.

I did a TAS on normal, but it only got to 70 million points. I could get a 16-chain but I have to be mindful of my placements.

The European version was used to create the TAS. The TAS syncs on the Japanese version as well.

Getting to Carbuncle in the Harahara course on very hard with 4 fevers or less is quite the challenge. The first 4 opponents can be done without entering fever mode. Accord is tough even if you enter fever mode. Wrong colored Puyo stack with massive garbage incoming in fever mode is a death sentence. Dammit Accord, you destroyed my run.

This game and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine are both the same game of Puyo Puyo with different re-skins.

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche are pretty much the same game with different names. The MAME version of Puyo Puyo has voices not in the Mega Drive port.

I'm no expert, but if we can port the tools to Hawk we'd use that emulator. But I'm gonna agree with you guys and stick with Gens for the time being. (We just can't copypasta the script)

Should we use BizHawk instead of Gens to TAS Sonic the Hedgehog games? BizHawk is better than Gens when it comes to emulation of Genesis/Mega Drive games. BizHawk uses the GenesisPlus core. BizHawk > Gens BizHawk is preferred over Gens. Should we use BizHawk for Sonic the Hedgehog game TASes? Or should we stick with Gens which is inferior?

Don't forget peripherals like a Taito Paddle, a Guitar Grip, a Rumble Pak, a Memory Expansion Pak, a Bluetooth Keyboard, and compatible GBA games. We could have SaveRAM for GBA and DS be independent so that we don't use up excess storage.

DeSmuME will soon become obsolete when DSHawk becomes more preferred in the next release of BizHawk (maybe 2.4.1?)

This game has version differences. The PAL version has level introductions. The PAL version has a giant snake boss whereas other versions you fight a horde of snakes. The PAL version runs 5/6 speed of the JPN version. The NA version runs about 1/2 slower than the JPN version. The PAL version has falling rocks in the elevators. The PAL version has more enemy types. If we were to TAS the PAL version it would have to put in a separate category. There'd be 2 categories: PAL and NTSC.

The Arcade version runs on the Sega's ST-V hardware. The Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation versions have CD audio and mostly different voices. The Nintendo 64 version is what we're discussing here. It doesn't have the same CD audio quality, but it takes advantage of the Nintendo 64's sound hardware to be comparable to the Arcade original. Story: Satan has conjured a spell to make the sun bigger and burn brighter. Resulting in Arle and Schezo feeling the sweltering heat. Draco doesn't mind the heat so she wears a bathing suit. There are three stories to tackle. Easy: Draco's Holiday: As Draco Centauros, blaze your way through three easy opponents. Medium: Arle's Adventure: As Arle Nadja, work your way through 13 opponents in order to put an end to Satan's evil plot. Hard: Schezo's Counterattack: As Schezo Wegey, work your way through 8 tough opponents in order to break Satan's spell. Arle and Schezo join up for a Puyo Puyo battle where the winner takes on Satan in order to restore peace to the island. In a TAS, play Schezo's story on the Master difficulty. I use the N64 'cause there no loading screens like in the Arcade. There's no voices during pre-battle cutscenes just like in the Arcade. To start a TAS, play this movie to fix the uninitialized SaveRAM as a workaround related to the SaveRAM bug in the emulator. After movie is finished playing and all data is erased to show the correct values, record from SaveRAM. Go to options, set difficulty to Master and turn off cutscenes, then choose your story.

I did a TAS of the GBA version. I used the European version to do the TAS. The TAS syncs with the Japanese version also. I'm not interested in TASing the GameCube and DS versions due to my disability.
