Megaman 1. Definitely. I don't think I've ever managed to beat Wily.

I'm pretty sure Bit and Byte aren't *completely* random. Sooner or later, the game forces you to fight them. Always.

Well, you can't get the dragon punch unless you have all the other items.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it impossible to charge anything besides the X-buster if you don't have the upgrade? EDIT: Something I'm going to point out. Is it really faster to kill Byte? If you finished him off with the X-buster, you wouldn't have to wait for him to finish exploding.

I've decided to instead make the movie with the E.TRANSFER first, rather than going without it. I had no idea of the amount of power the Remote Mine has, and I don't want to find myself lacking in ammo. Also, assuming I have enough bolts by then, the split-off will most likely be after the 6th robot master(Magic Man), rather than before the gateway to King.

16 You think the average might be a little higher than first predicted?

I don't think I'll be done with this time attack as fast as I thought I'd be. It has been taking me way more time to get through Burner Man's level than I originally thought(real time, not game time), and I don't think Pirate Man's level is going to be any simpler. As far as upgrades go, the quick charge would not be worth it. Any normal enemy can be killed very quickly without charging, and the bosses have an invincibility period of around 120 frames...the same amount of frames it takes to charge the buster normally. The auto charge wouldn't be useful either. The E.TRANSFER(damage you take will turn into weapon energy) might have it's uses, but I usually avoid taking damage unless it's faster, so it wouldn't help too much. Out of all the upgrades Rockman can get, the only one I would consider would be the Generator(weapons require less energy to fire). Once I get to King's levels, I'll probably split off and make 2 seperate movies: one with Generator, one without. See which one ends up faster. No doubt, I'll do the one without it first, although if I find that I'm not lacking in energy at all, I'll probably not make the movie with the generator. EDIT: I've finally finished with Burner Man's level. Ice Wall was used a whole lot. However, I was not able to manipulate luck in my favor. As far as I can tell, item drops from enemies are based purely on time, and it takes way too much time to change from one item to another as far as I could tell. On the bright side, the level has tons of weapon-refilling items around, and I grabbed the most convenient one. And the movie makes Burner Man look really easy.

Gigafrost has been working on a MM7 time attack. It looks very neat at the moment.

I don't plan on buying any upgrades. I don't think it's worth it. In the gateway to King, I don't have to pick up the giant bolts that appear do I? If not, it further shoots down the possibility of buying upgrades.

Phantoon keeps his eye closed for way too long when you use Super Missiles. It's probably not worth it.

It can, but then if you're fighting something that has a whole lot of health but no invincibility, it will kill it really fast...especially when while the wall is forming, you auto-fire the rock buster. There's another reason I like the Ice wall so much: It's a platform.

I'm sure that even at my slowest, it can't possibly take an entire month. Unless I ditch the run entirely, but I don't think that's likely. ;) Expect a lot of usage of Ice Wall in my movie. It deals a heck of alot of damage when I use it in combination with an auto-firing rock buster.

The temporary invinicibility isn't too long, so yes charged buster isn't really worth it. I managed to get past the snow man. I'm pretty pleased with how the fight turned out. I've still been working, and I have just the last room before I fight Cold Man.

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to make a no-hit time attack. But from what I've experimented with, getting hit seems to be faster when done properly. I like using the temporary invincibility to get across spikes. :) I'm about to fight the snowman sub-boss in Cold Man's level, and it's rather complicated. The snowman has temporary invincibility after getting hit, and without a health bar, it'll be hard to tell if a given hit deals damage or not. I could always use the flashing as a clue...

I've just figured out the problem. The server is on a linux machine and I didn't capitalize the link correctly. http://www.kraftfam.org/~dtk/Rockman.zip

As for the being unable to download part, our internet connection has been real crappy in the past few days, but I'll put the movie file in a ZIP and see if that does anything. http://www.kraftfam.org/~dtk/rockman.zip Try both links again. Hopefully it will work.

I've finally finished with the museum after getting off my lazy butt. If anybody wants to see what I have so far, you can download the current movie file at http://www.kraftfam.org/~dtk/rockman.smv . Any comments? EDIT: I'm fixing the boss fight. It can be done way faster than that. EDIT2: I've finished improving the boss fight. It is now 15 frames faster than it was before. :)

I haven't put it up anywhere. Giga just happens to be my oldest brother. I'll put up an incomplete version once I'm done with the museum.

While watching the movie you have recorded, loading a state will resume recording from that state... If you don't have a good save state, then you can make one while it's recording and then load it, and it'll resume from there.

I'm going to play through SM (I know all the tricks etc. and my personal best in speed without emu is 43 mins :) so it'll be really fun). EDIT: God damnit, I forgot that my keyboard is totally ****ed up and I can't press more than three keys or whatever. Do I need a new keyboard to fix that? i.e. I can't sprint, hold forward, and jump. *sigh*
I have the same problem. Usually if I need more keys pressed down than my computer can handle, I'll set some of the keys to the same button. Works well when recording frame-by-frame.

I see potential de-synching if that is the case. Whatever the case, I won't be collecting the CDs in my Time Attack, and will instead just go straight for Wily. If anyone is interested in progress...I'm in the middle of the lava room in the museum...I'm rather a bit slow at moving it forward, and it certainly doesn't help(or maybe it does, since it makes a faster video) that I've scrapped the run twice in order to make sure the earlier rooms in the museum were faster. EDIT: Oh yes, and I know someone else that is currently Time Attacking as Forte, so chances are I won't make a run as him.

Yeah. I'm making a Time Attack of this. I have no idea whether Rock or Forte can go through the game faster, but I'd rather play as Rock. Although it would be neat if the website hosted 2 different time attacks of the game: one for Rock, one for Forte. I have done a bit of thinking about which Robot Master to fight first, but I am constantly thinking that Cold Man is the best to start with, and then go Burner Man, Pirate Man, Ground Man, Tengu Man, Magic Man, Astro man, and end with Dynamo Man.

I'm a bit confused. Is it possible to resume recording a movie? And if so, how?
