I just watched my new SMB video again, and I noticed that I forgot to hit the coin block at the end of 8-3. Should I fix this and re-submit it to Bisqit or should I just leave it the way it is?

My original ideas for speed runs were SMB 1, 2, and 3, The Legend of Zelda, Mario Bros., and Donkey Kong.
Yesterday I finished making an SMB movie that's way faster than I originally thought possible. Genisto already made a new SMB2 speed run. In SMB3 my idea for new world 1 powerup strategy ended up not being faster than Genisto's. Sleepz already made a new Zelda speed run. That leaves two choices for my next speed run, Mario Bros. or Donkey Kong. Which one should I make? What should I try to do in the speed run. Should I beat the levels as fast as possible? Should I get as many points as possible? Should I ignore speed and points and just do fancy tricks? Should I do neither of those games and instead make a tricks video for SMB 1, 2, and 3, or LoZ?

Even if you recorded the whole thing with the 60 fps version, I don't think it would make a difference as long as you play it back in the normal version, because the fmvs are still the same. However, I'm not exactly an expert at this kind of stuff, so I could be wrong.

Blip, do you think you would be able to hack Famtasia in such a way that would let allow you to redo early parts of a video without having to redo the whole thing?

where will I get the heart refill before L5?
If you don't want to get hit by the Lynel, can't you just go around the other side of the lake, or is the river too wide to use the ladder to cross?

I finished my new Super Mario Bros. speed run, and it's a total of 123 frames faster than the previous version, and the video length is 5:06! I just want to watch the whole thing now, and later I'll send it to Bisqwit.

TSA watched the video and made some comments about it, so in case anyone's interested, here's his post, copied from the ZHQ forums. He kept saying "you" so he must have thought that I made the video even though I already said in an earlier post that Sleepz made it, but in the next post I said again that I wasn't the one who made it.

when is the fmv ready?
I'll try to finish it today, so the fmv should be ready later tonight. I'm just before the end of 8-3 now, trying to figure out a way to slow down to avoid the fireworks but still make it look cool.
Edit: I wonder if I could do a walljump on the stack of 2 blocks near the end. I think I'm gonna try that. That's the only way I can think of to make it look cool, but if someone has another idea, let me know.

damn.. do you have much spare time or what O_O finishing one speedrun for me would take days xD
Well, I should probably be doing homework now, but I'll work on the speed run anyway and I'll do my homework later. I don't mind going to bed late, I do it all the time and I'm used to it.

Sleepz, I have another question that I forgot to ask yesterday. I noticed you didn't blow the whistle an extra time, but when you warped to 3 after 1 or 1 after 3, you skipped passed 2. Do you know why that happened? I stopped the movie just before you blew the whistle and tried blowing it myself, and I just went to 2.

What's the point of encoding a video that will only be on the page for 1 day? I'll probably finish it today, and it will most likely be over a second faster than the previous version.

I'm also going to post about it on GameFAQs, but I'll wait until tomorrow for that. I'm so tired that I can't stay up one more minute, so I'm going to sleep now.

I'm done watching the video, and it was very good. Good fighting, good route and planning, and good key choices (except for that one that was my fault). It's probably very close to the fastest possible time. However, I do have two things I want to say.
I'm not sure because I was watching it at full speed so it was hard to tell, but I think you could have stopped recording a few frames sooner, so if that's the case you should fix it before you submit it.
As I said in the last paragraph, I was watching it at full speed so there's a good chance that I'm wrong, but it looked like the Ganon fight could have been slightly faster (maybe by a quarter of a second). I don't have time to try it out now since it's so late, but tomorrow I'll try redoing the Ganon fight to see if I can get a faster time.
Edit: do you think its good enough to be submitted?
Yeah, it's good enough, but make sure you stopped recording as soon as possible. It was hard to tell exactly at the speed I was watching, but it looked like it could have been stopped 3-6 frames sooner. As for my comment about the Ganon fight, don't worry about it. I don't even know for sure that it can be done faster, and if it can be, then only by a tiny amount, and even if I am able to improve it you'll always just be able to just submit it again.

This time I'm not commenting on any quarter second mistakes, but I just thought of a way that you could have saved about 2 seconds. After level 5 when you paused the game, you should have switched to the blue candle before pressing Up+A, and that way you wouldn't have needed to switch later.
Edit: So far nothing else that's more than a second. I noticed you didn't do Up+A after level 7. I assume you tested this already, so I'm curious, in that situation how much faster is walking down a screen than doing Up+A?

Thank you, now I'll start clicking the receive email button every 5 seconds and then I'll watch it.
Edit: This is strange, I still didn't get it. I thought emails don't usually take more than a few seconds to get sent.
Edit 2: Are you sure you got my email address right? I can't imagine why it's taking so long for me to receive it. I'll just wait a few more minutes and if I still don't get it I'll go to bed and check my email again tomorrow.
Edit 3: Never mind, I just received it.
