I guess I lost my old college email address and can't get into my old account (Morrison) but great work on the new TAS. New tech looks really optimized. GG! [Mod edit: account restored!]

It hasn't been noted here yet, but there's an alternate set up to get past Kraid's door that should be an improvement in the any% tas https://www.twitch.tv/chx42/clip/SpotlessHandsomeNeanderthalCmonBruh basically, you can abuse the way the game is loading the rooms. get stuck in the blue door offscreen above the camera. shoot door, morph and roll left (frame perfect left press) the game will load kraid's entryway during the fall and you can slide past without the bug boost. Hacker/randomizer maker MetalMachine put out a lua script that helps visualize offscreen rooms in NEStroid, and that's pretty much how this skip was discovered. There's more info in the NEStroid speedrun discord, and the link to that should be on speedrun dot com's nes metroid page. ps: i didn't work on 100% after all :D --retrogaming2084/Josh

Great job on the new Castlevania TAS challenger!! It's amazing that after all these years, there are new tricks to be found. Appreciate the submission comments too, I wasn't exactly sure what was going on with the new tricks. Happy holidays, y'all

Anyone working on 100% or have plans to start it? I'm dabbling now. No hard commitments. Got about 6 frames saved going into the first blue column. Been speedrunning this game lately and figured the 100% category could use an update on the site.

Haven't watched the whole thing yet, but nice job with the axe! I was wondering when my run /w Phil would be challenged. Cheers--Josh

What do you exactly mean with full rupees, full bombs? Having 16 bombs, 255 rupees in any point of the run or finishing the game with 16 bombs, 255 rupees? I'm not sure this will work with rupees, but it's way to arbitrary.
I'm trying to say those things are arbitrary, and I like the run as is.

I'm sad that this run got cancelled. Of course I have some personal bias about NES Legend of Zelda, but: The luck manipulation and combat was very precise, and it was fun to watch. A great deal of effort was put into this run. I like this variant/ruleset since it shows many rooms and areas that the other runs do not, and it's not too long and drawn out. I feel a run where all keys, bottles, full rupees, full bombs, big shield, white sword, etc. need to be obtained would make the run too long, too redundant and would overstay its welcome. I would rather have seen this run published as a 'full inventory run' or name it as everyone sees fit, and then the debate could continue regarding goals and improvement and what categories or rule-sets would obsolete this tas.

10th enemy has the bomb. Also, congrats on obsoleting the old CV IV. I was afraid it was never gonna get obsoleted! Going to watch it tomorrow.

Finally got a chance to watch the run now that I'm back from vacation. Your updated route looks fantastic. As far as the technical aspect of the run, the movements and attacks look spot on. Only one question/comment about the holy water: If memory serves, the holy water doesn't halve the bosses HP value; holy water doubles sub-weapon damage to bosses. Why grab it on LEVEL 4 blob fight? I'm too lazy to re-teach myself all the openMSX commands and test it real quick, but I thought I tried this once in the past.

Looking forward to watching this. Congrats on finishing it in a timely manner! Sadly I cannot watch it at the moment. Will add comment later.

I didn't have time to watch the whole movie yet, but the run looks very good from what I saw. Love this game. The precision looks excellent! I cringe every time the mudokons barely make it under a meat grinder or just miss a bullet.

I just played through MoG the other day. Should be a very rich game for TASing. There are many options to explore such as route, items, resource management, luck manipulation, and taking damage to save time. Should be a good challenge! Let me know if I can help.

Note to everyone who plans to encode: I don't want to see Link moving OVER the doors in the dungeons. The encode of the current Swordless TAS has it, and that looks awful. config > videos... > uncheck "allow more than 8 sprites per scanline"
Agreed. The TAS looks solid! Well played.

My favorites are Lolita, Tropic of Cancer, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. I started to read Pale Fire, now that you mention it, Mukki. I never finished it though.

The run looks very good. I also really like this game. Hats off! Too bad Maria is so broken in this game. Will there be a Richter run from you guys? :)
