I say go on as it is without using death as a shortcut and then when you've gone through and made notes on how you can improve, you can set out and improve it big time. I'm sure there's many a purist who'd love a clean run and many others who'd look forward to a faster death run. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin [Who's in the former]

More More More! But a few things... on the way into the tournament... did I hear you run into the door before you opened it? Could you not have avoided those herbs during the tourney? And that one long ass trip to get into the town from the cave in Chapter 1... there was no faster way of luck manipulation? That made me go... "WTF?! JUST GO INTO THE TOWN DAMNIT!" And in regards to that extra set of Wyvern wings, they may help in Chapter 5? I mean some of the moves now may just help save frames there... Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

What's the goal of the game? I just tried it for 2 minues and I ended up in a room, opened a desk and found a gun which I couldn't get. I didn't bother that much though. At first look (those 2 minutes) it didn't looked like a very entertaining game unfortunately. Maybe it's getting better later on. It reminded me a bit of Terror on Elm Street, atleast how the graphics.
It's one helluva boring game... a LOT of backtracking involved... I mean you have to exit and re-enter rooms from the hall for the items to be respawned, and it's an essential thing at points. You have to go back and forth in the mansion to get to different points and warpzones... well unless you use death as a shortcut... with there only being 1 life, I don't really approve of it... but it may make it easier.. It's interesting... but.. I dunno.. it could be seen as boring... Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

To Mr. Kelly R. Flewin: Is this extra step you're talking about picking up the PENCIL and using it on the MEMO? Because you left that part out in your speed guide.
Yep ;) I left it out for a reason.. primarily because you DON'T need the pencil :) My guide on Gamefaqs is as flawless as possible now. There'a also a way to exit the stall in such a manner with a click, that you can also click again and you hit the mirror. Not sure if it'd be faster for you, but it did work well for me when I tried. 14 seconds of improvement without changing the route? Amazing.
True, but there's the one extra step being taken in both routes. I've told Walkerboh about it for when he redoes his version, but I mean some of these cursor movements... never woulda thunk of them. I still wonder if the bathroom stall could not be done a mite bit faster with slightly different cursor placement, but then again I could be wrong too. I still give this a yes vote though, because it IS faster. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

4. If you keep pressing buttons at the end of the game you notice i get 45 more gold medals to my total. So that would equal my grand total of medals to be over 100.
You also ended your movie too early as well... I wish I had actually thought to have added that point, but no biggie.
Track and Field is basically the same as this game but I get to kick the computers ass.
Actually, you can do exactly that in T&F when racing the computer, Mind you, Street Challenge takes that a bit more literally.
If you havent played the game before then dont diss me on my speedrun. There are plenty of games that do not make sense and this game is one of the best for NES. If you think you can do better then time yourself.
On the contrary, I've played this game A LOT. I made no such attempt to "DISS" your run as you would put it, I merely stated my opinon why I felt this would be better put as more of a Play-Around rather then a Speedrun. It's not whether I feel I can do better or not, I simply expressed my feelings in an honest manner and you've chosen to take them out of context and in a manner of brashness to which they were not intended. I'm sorry you felt otherwise, but it does not change my thoughts. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I dunno... I honestly think it's impressive in some aspects... but there's a lot lacking... I mean the Thwomping of the PC rocks and all... but noticing how many medals are missed out from doing it... [like the one at the end of the very first race]... and the fact you have to WAIT for the PC to mess up on their turn in the golfing events... and yet again all those medals missed out on.... and why Crash for every event? A bit of variety there woulda been cool there too.. even if he seems to be the best suited. It's fast, I'll grant you that... but a game like this is HONESTLY best left as a Play-around attempt rather then a pure TAS. Sorry :( Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Hmmm... well I'm questioning this run a lot and not going to vote atm, lest I presume too much... but it's wanting to be a NO vote for a lot of reasons... Mleh because it's a bit of an improvement though.. My reasoning? 1. PAL timing? Why not NTSC timing... this is not a PAL game version. 2. 36 Re-Records???? Wayyyy too few... 3. You make a lot of very IMPRECISE movements, stops, stalls and jitters. In some cases the little dances are amusing and don't waste time.. but in a lot of cases, since the goal is perfection, in the same case a lot of these moves are imperfection. You should be able to do a stop on a dime, turn, flip the bean, carry on. 4. Ketchup bean use is not bad.. not bad at all, and has its moments where it works well. 5. Very VERY Slow bean selection. In the other movie it was lightning fast. Now I must admit, for a casual gamer, it's cool to note the different beans as they go by, but that entire process can be sped up a HECK of a lot and others will declare this on the same point. 6. The movie could be ended faster... but.. I give you sincere credit because you admitted in the channel this was an unintentional mistake and it's an easy one to make, so that makes it a Mleh bordering on Yes. I do sincerely feel you got the right idea here and it shows! You've got some great potential, but like any artist, you should freely use all that is provided unto you. I highly recommend trying this again but... 1. Use WAYYY more RE-Records... aim for insane perfection! It is possible.. the re-records ensure of it. 2. Try slowing the emulation down as slow as you can bear, if not at the very least use frame advance for absolute perfection to the very pixel. 3. Figure out how many frames would be saved from a long shot toss of a bean to a close up bean.. [like if you're running at the Blob, is it faster to lob the bean as you're approaching or stand close up and flip it] 4. Use NTSC timing ^^ 5. Realize that you can end the movie the instant that last bean is tossed. [I think this is the place and my apologies if I am in error] This will shave off even more time ^^ I only hope these meager suggestions can be of a help to you and only aid in to encouraging as opposed to discouraging. I know you can improve this even more! :) Now go get 'em tiger! Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

That would be faster, but he wasn't going for fastest time. There's not much point in a speedrun on a game that has a fixed time limit. He's going for highest score, which is why it's so boring. By the time it's 400-0, it clearly isn't a challenge. It doesn't take any skill to make a run like this, which is why sports games generally aren't suited to this kind of movie.
Well actually, it's absolutely incredible to do a run of this magnitude, score wise... believe me.. the game is RIGGED to cheat if you start winning... but this illustrates that it's not quite AS rigged, but the randomness is extreme, so it comes off as rigged. Sadly though, I must agree that it gets too boring too quick. Perhaps a 4P game where you use a myriad of secret codes and hidden characters and kept it close... that could be truly entertaining.. Sweert Jeebus! This doesn't have a star yet?! Alone for the speed... doubly for the Ghost House Pwnage... And the hell? I mean... the entire flight in the Boo Battle was mindblowing... if that could be done on a real console... wow... Improvements are noticable... the P-Switch jump alone in Castle #1 was worth the price of admission... Can't stop raving... DEFINITE YES! Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I'm watching and I'm VERY impressed! I didn't even know you could do a turn around jump so fast, and believe me, this will definitely make things wayyy better in a speedrun. The Boss fights.. HOLY CRAP! I mean I never knew you could get so in close and tight like that and still survive! Extremely speedy and efficient killing! You turn the absolutely CLUNKY movements of Batman into something amazing.. I mean the jumps are all well executed and some look almost impossible with how narrowly you avoid things. Excellent weapons use make kills that are needed very quick and painless and you eliminate a ton of lag. You manipulate the enemy hit time flawlessly and use it to your advantage in ways I never knew could be done... Best part? Where you make Joker's final henchman your bitch in no time flat. Batman? BatRobot is more like it... this is a definite Yet vote! Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Could you so kindly explain how to perform this glitch in both instances... the jumping up into and up the wall and the falling into the floor glitch..? I'm especially curious about the falling glitch ^^ Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

HOLY ^%&##$! YOU BROKE SUPER PITFALL! Can someone give this a Star because this one's skyhigh and heaven sent! Level 8 is the boss level with the gigantic baby running around, crushing whoever comes in his way. So, for my concern. There is the usual 10 victims in this stage which I intend to save, however, when the baby is killed he will transform into a regular baby which can be saved. This means that there are 11 victims in this level and if I save it I will lose a fearsome 2 seconds or something due to the bonus I'll receive afterwards.
Well, you're going to HAVE to save all the Cheerleaders on.. I think it's Level 12.. and that triggers a bonus level, iirc... and you get a bonus for rescuing all 10 Cheerleaders as well.. sooo ;) Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Hmmm I dunno how to vote quite yet.. it's interesting to say the least! But there's a few things that stuck out as... bad/odd... 1. In Corneria at the BEGINNING of the game, you walk up to exit the town and wait for a guard to have to move... was there not a way to delay the exitting of the shop a few frames so the guard wouldn't be there and hence save you a second or 2? 2. In the swamp cave... why did you grab the Iron Armor? I mean the Short Sword makes sense to do more damage... but wouldn't it have been faster to simply manipulate damage taken then grab the armor? I mean if it makes that huge of a difference, at least the one in the Corneria Castle was 2 steps over from the TNT. 3. I have the same question as TheAxeMan in regards to the Sea Shrine... and unorthodox is putting it lightly, the way you roamed around the exit, then exited then went outside the town, back in, then out again... did that save a heck of a lot of time..? 4. I also have to admit, TheAxeMan's comment on the House instead of an Inn in Corneria is something on my mind as well. 5. Heck, TheAxeMan's comments about the Earth Floor in the TOFR... I must admit to desiring to echo those as well. OTHER then that, it was a cool movie! I mean until I seen this... I never knew you could walk up to Chaos, pull down your pants, moon him, give him the finger.. and when he even remotely twitches, use the Bane Sword and toast him with one shot... THAT was slightly less cool then the Kraken fight which made me fall of my chair in laughter. :) Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Wow!! And may I say it again? WOW! This was WHOLLY impressive! I've never seen the final stages be navigated so fast... and the final fight with 1 bullet regenning... TOO COOL! It's also amusing how you beat 4-6 1 game second faster then 3-1, despite more enemies and lasers after you ^^ Slick movements, FANTASTIC enemy usage, not a single shot wasted even when it looked like one may have... and some of those moves made this look like some kinda Martial Arts movie! [Crouching Panther, Rolling Thunder] [snicker] This DEFINITELY gets a YES vote from me! Thanks for doing this FODA, and showing us how it's done. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

I must sadly concur... nice attempt... but the second you let enemies escape... ... and as was from the last one... 65.... 65 RE-RECORDS?! Seriously... it's obvious you're trying... but you should really STOP submitting stuff UNTIL you have can take a step back, read what people are telling you and implement.. there's no real excuse for 65 Re-Records.. no matter HOW GOOD you are on a console. You want proof of how things SHOULD be done? Check out SprintGod's new movie.. pay attention to the sickening detail he put into it... a 45 minute movie... and he has 160,000+ re-records to make it absolutely PIXEL PERFECT. Not saying you need 160k for an Abadox run... but 65 isn't enough by a long shot... heck, even "I" learned my lesson after doing a Shinobi time attack. I had only 243 re-records or so... and reflecting on it now... I shoulda had a lot more, especially since 4 hours later, someone beat it by 44 seconds with far more precision and far more re-records to IMPROVE that precision. Can the run be improved...? Who knows.. maybe a second or 2 could be gleamed... but it beat my run by far [save for the Pogo-Ninja Mania ^^] because more time was employed and precision and perfection were a must. If you're wanting to keep going, I'd recommend making threads in the Nes section and allowing others to critique and offer advice on betterment BEFORE you submit... that way you stand a FAR BETTER chance of having it accepted. I'm not trying to be hard on purpose, but the writing's on the wall my friend, and you should really start reading it. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Holy crap how the hell could Konami make such a heinous error!! YOU MANIPULATED IT FLAWLESSLY! I nearly vomited from the speed and just imagining if it was IRL. And the odd lag? I'd hype it as selective bullet time ^^ I nearly beat this game once, and then my save file got corrupt.. this was vindication and damned fast at that! But now... is the Magician much different to that there may be a speedrun for Magician as well... or is it just different DSS cards, etc.? Definitely gets a plus vote from me ^^ Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

First time a 35 minute movie felt like it had been well over 2 hours long... I hate to say this but, the original Metroid was a lot more entertaining to watch, heck even Super Metroid was... Nintendo shouldn't have toyed with the formula. On the other hand, your toying around was cool... I had to do a double take when I thought I saw Kraid... what kinda joke was that? I mean can we say FASTEST Metroid Boss death ever?! I do wonder if you could've destroyed more pirates to prevent lag, but probably even preshooting would've created the same lag.. :( Otherwise, this wasn't bad at all. It gets a yes vote from me. K... there's some problems here.. and big ones at that... Strike #1 - It's already been done faster, as pointed out Strike #2 - You make jumps that are not even needed and waste time units and time in general with them. Strike #3 - You used Famtasia!! That's a HUGE Nono on many a field.... Already enough to strike out, but..... #4 - So FEW Re-Records! For something of this undertaking, I'd be expecting 20K large... not a hair over 1,000.... #5 - The mistakes alone man... #6 - Not even knowing what Rom!!! I mean seriously! That's a HUGE factor! If it's a hacked rom, that'd be an instant No go right there.. thankfully it DOES play with the PRG0 Rom. #7 - Untested Code Abuse.... what the heck is that supposed to be? You tried... but unfortunately... this is a No... My suggestions for improvement? #1. Use FCEU! You have Frame Advance to help and slowdown too! They're your friends #2. More re-records #3. Perfection or bust! We don't care if it takes 1 million re-records.. if it's Perfect, that's what matters! I hope this will be to your benefit and not disuade you from trying again. Mr. Kelly R. Flewin
