hmm, I could have played a song of double time at the beginning than it would have been 4 pm a TAS would arrive at 2:30 am or something then, what would be perfect :) I've recorded CT to GB, Zora Mask, Wrong Warp, Ikana to Swamp, Swamp to Palace, Palace, Palace to Temple and ended it at the bow I'll upload it tomorrow, if you want me too

I'm just testing the new route and it's 10 pm, when I arrive at the ranch....

I doubt the Beaver races will come out faster, but you're welcome to try. They're slower than the extra trip to Pinnacle Rock, though, and I'd bet they're slower than the Ranch, too. Yeah, we probably wont bother with the Zora Cape Owl statue. Too much of a detour, as mentioned.
compared to my non-TAS run, I was about 25 seconds slower with beavers compared to the ranch bottle :( what's the 6th bottle of majora's mask we didn't mention yet?

I tested dampe's bottle already and made a video about it and it was faster than ranch the bottle. the problem is, that dampe's bottle is only faster if we combinate it with ikana access, but we wouldn't have the hookshot at this point, so no dampe's bottle the beavers bottle seems to be a great idea I'll time it soon woha, a lot of testings left for us.....

Very nice. This would require no explosives at all. In this case you probably wouldn't activate the Zora owl however, as it would be to much of a detour, which reduces the time-gain a little, as you will have to make the way from the observatory to the zoras once more, once you are going to the water tempel...
what has to be timed next is, what of those 2 routes are faster: - observatory to turtle owl and back to fountain - observatory to fountain and later in the run obersavtory to turtle owl because of petrie's new trick, the second one should be faster now ;)

nice, petrie I'll make a non-TAS speed test soon the time differences for both methods should be always pretty much the same for the routes wheter it's tool-assisted or not oh, and we're going to use my inverted stone tower skip now, I think. should save about a minute or something I know, even more boring hovers, but our aim is to get the best time in the end ;)

You forgot to think about one thing when we would go to the GB fountain, we wouldn't have the hookshot, what forces to hover and bomb long jump ;) I'll have a look on how many explosives we need there

ZFG mentioned, that there are enemys to the left and right of the sun block in the mirror room, that drop bombs, so we could use it did anybody try ESS after recoil flip yet? all you need for ESS is speed, so it should work

I've just discovered a nice way to get OoB in stone tower hopefully it will lead to gomess fight skip edit: that oob is in the room, where the giant's maks chest is. unfortunately, it's on the wrong side of the room :( edit2: ok, I've found a sweet way let's see how much explosives requieres it requieres. probably too much, because stone tower requieres a lot already expect video soon

Yeah, it seems to be pretty much a route, that is close to its limits we have now nearly every realistic sequence break discovered! skipping zora mask or any temple is very, very, very unlikely ;) the only thing I could imagine would gomess fight. I discovered a ST boss key skip, but it requires way too much explosives :/ I'll work on that tomorrow. what I could also imagine, would be a few new wrong warp things. I figured out, that the two ranch buildings are on the same map. really useless, but I want to now every placement of every building! maybe we'll find a way to wrong warp to the twinrova magic store or to the goron shop. let's see

I have to say, the grave access was one of the more WTF moments I've seen in a Zelda TAS. Very nice. :)
you mean my video? that was no TAS :D I used a save stat for the hovering into the grave, because I didn't know how to really do it, when I entered the graveyard. I had just a theory ;) and I used another one before the battle against the poe, beause it was my first battle against him and I wanted to figure out a nice strategy edit: ok, we have to drop the idea of getting dampe's bottle. we wouldn't have the hookshot at this point, because we have to visit pirate's fortress with 2 bottles. we would have to warp away after getting the bottle, but then it wouldn't be faster anymore, I think

the whole thing is combinated with ikana access, so have to compare everything like this: way to ranch + aliens + ikana access vs. my whole video the loading zone is pretty small, but it should be no problem, I think ;)

I had a idea to imrpove our any% route. Here's a video about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCgB7LIQOgA my idea is to get dampe's bottle on the final day to skip the ranch bottle. by hovering you can get into the grave without captain's had with about 12-14 bombchus. maybe a TAS can do it with 10 or something As this speed test was non-TAS I compared it to my MM speed run. I was about 20 seconds faster with dampe's bottle, althout I used no goron mask. of course, most of the time I lost, because I had no goron mask, I saved with superslides again, but goron rolling is still faster in many places ;) getting dampe's bottle is really really boring, so we should still get the ranch bottle. buying 10 extra chus will cost most of the saved time again, but dampe's bottle should be still about 10 seconds faster or something

You could always use PJ64 which has levatation cheats.
I always use levitation, but I wasn't able find any other rooms in a lot of buildings, what is weird. nintendo wouldn't make a map for every building did somebody test already if you can pull of a ESS with a recoil flip?

I'm playing a little bit around with the wrong warp glitch at the moment. all I could find yet was a way to do wrong warp with the zora rooms: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSOFrr6e_bQ very useless trick ;) there are a lot of buildings I was able to get Out of Bounds, but I wasn't able to find any other rooms, that were on the same map. I really doubt, that nintendo made a new map for every building, so there should be other places for wrong warp for sure. has somebody a debug rom to see if there are any potential places to use wrong warp or is somebody keen on helping me with it?

I know, but it would be definately worth if we find a way to reach the pond early and if it isn't possible to get past the bridge without ISG mega flip

So if you manage to skip the scarecrow that should save almost 2 minutes assuming you can get a bug from somewhere relatively close to the path you're taking. Where would this be? Is there one in the Kakariko cave that you're jumping in to reset cuccoo's? (Can unfortunately not check myself at this moment).
There is, but we don't have a bottle at that point. There are some under a rock behind the Skulltula house, though, which should be just as good. BTW, if we skip the scarecrow's song, do we also skip the Hookshot?
I found this in the process of trying to skip Hover Boots completely for a low% run a while ago. This would allow us to skip hookshot completely, if we find a way to reach the fishing pond early: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XBguR514Kg&feature=channel_page if somebody cares, the hover boots are skipable now for low%. It became the most interesting category because of all the new tricks, so it would be really cool, if somebody started a low% TAS. a real time run with hover boots skip is pretty much a TAS only because of all the ultra hard tricks. however, somebody has to test, if we can reach the bridge without infinitive sword ;) if it doesn't work, we could use this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2cag5dzkv0&feature=related simply activate ISG with deku stick on B ;) did somebody try forwards mega flip yet in order to see, if link grab ledges while backflipping?

hmm, I've discovered a boss key skip for every temple: stone tower requieres way too much explosives (60). snowhead boss key skip requieres only 18 explosives, but remember all the explosives we need to climb the temple. woodfall boss key skip skips the gecko fight and needs only 23 explosives. petrie made a new route with wrong warp to snowhead and goron mask skip already! Have you seen it yet?

Finally, it has been done! Now we can skip every switch of the Great Bay Temple :D Expect video soon ;) to get to the place, where we get OoB + for the boss key skip I needed about 38 explosives and I did it non-tas, so this should be definately useful :) edit: the video had no sound :/ here's the new one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tzr7LpBdtJY

I was only able to get OoB with the green pipe yet. unfortunately, those ones are on the other side of the place, where the boss room is :( another way would be to preload the main room (I found a nice way to do it) and then go to the room in front of the boss room and do the boss key skip. would be TAS only, because everything is dark, when the area is preloaded

my idea was actually to try skipping all switches, but if i'm right, we need to activate the red switches to get to the room, where the boss door is, so we have to still activate all of them we should try to figure out a way to skip all thosw switches

one week ago there was no boss key skip for MM, now I've discovered one for every temple! great bay temple boss key skip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_VZnC1JqCc I'm not very fimilar with the great bay temple, so I can't say if we can skip some switches etc. with. should be faster than getting the key for sure, because it doesn't requier that much explosives, so why not use it? I used 15 bombchus and 5 bombs and did it non-tas. a tas should be able to get the number of explosives down to 15 or something, because my Bombchu Hovers to get OoB weren't the best

Snowhead Temple Boss Key Skip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYYG_WmT860 it's way harder to get OoB with ISG activated than it maybe looks like ;) requieres probably too many explosives for any% and game time, but maybe we can use it in 100%, if we're allowed to skip the Boss Key. It's not really clear, wheter we have to get big key, compass and map or not ;) nice route petrie :) what does double time mean and are you sure, that we would reach the ranch at the right time?
