I certainly understand the frustration as I would also enjoy seeing this played back on console, however I will not consider console-verification within a judgement unless either adelikat or DarkKobold instruct me otherwise. Therefore, the reason it wasn't mentioned in the judgement is that it isn't relevant to the judgement. HappyLee has submitted a careful and difficult piece of work and I didn't want to include inconsequential trivia within the acceptance to question the legitimacy of his accomplishment. As things stand, we TAS to emulators, not to consoles. The movie file is only required to sync on an approved emulator, the fact that it may also happen to sync on real hardware is a pleasing curiosity and nothing more.

The votes on this one are pretty positive, but the reception in the thread is rather mixed. Some more opinions on this would be great so if you watched this can you please post your opinion. Thanks!

Wow, a new WIP. What a fantastic excuse to watch this awesome run from the beginning once more! Excellent work as usual. Good to see that the redo is finished. It should do wonders for your motivation to finally be tasing new material. Keep it up guys!

While X2poet's output was impressive I am voting for Aglar as he had the best quality v quantity ratio in my opinion. Aglar is the best TASer currently working and is overdue for this award. P.S. I share p4wn3r's lament. Candidates for this award really should be selected by nomination.

Wow so many great candidates this year. I think that SMB2U and Majora's Mask are head and shoulders above the rest, which is a shame on Sonic 2 and Cave Story as they could have easily won this award outright any other year.

As with all Sonic runs this aims for fastest in-game time. I only mentioned the real time improvements as a curiosity.

Very much so. The run is pretty close to completion, but I have put in on hold while I finish up something else. Expect in a few weeks.

Loved it. Yes vote. My favourite parts were: The seasonal "HoHoHo" dialogue when you checked the Onett glitch point. The terrified rendition the game gives of "Because I love You" after all the glitching is done.

While I enjoyed the run, it takes a good thirty minutes for it to really kick into action which may be too long for the new viewer that isn't familiar with the game. Still, it certainly had memorable moments, so consider this a 'meh' as to its star suitability.

I think you should keep this here and let people vote on it. I'm not a judge but it seems that the reception for this movie is good so I hope it will be published.
I disagree. The votes and the comments tell different stories here. While the votes are somewhat positive, this run has received poorer feedback in the thread than one would desire for a published run. The feedback suggests that many, if not most, viewers found this game too boring. Therefore, TimmyAkmed, if you honestly believe that you can improve the entertainment value of this run it would be wise to do so and cancel this submission (though it should be noted that I am not familiar with this game and so I cannot comment on whether a pacifist goal would be more entertaining (or entertaining enough, for that matter)). Also, you mentioned that you have "found some tricks." If these happen to be time saving tricks then, yes, you should definitely cancel and submit a new run.

I look forward to following this. To be honest I'm most interested in seeing which obscure tracks do well before Mega Man and Castlevania start placing. It was cool to see level 2 of Bad Dudes today, I was playing through this game a few days ago and found the music to be pretty weak with the exeption of this awesome track

Every time I read anti-TAS sentiment I am always reminded of this for some reason... Link to video

I had not attempted to watch the run before I posted so I did not see the rom version used. khv-user, all runs submitted to the site must use the (U) [!] rom unless there is a very good reason not to do so. I'm not quite sure what the difference is you are reffering to, but I shall, of course, look at both roms before reaching a decision (though a preliminary glance suggests that they are very similar).

As there have only been four votes on this and not much discussion on the substance of this run itself I'm going to give this another couple of days. Hopefully this should give time for an encode and a few more votes and comments. Speak now or forever hold your peace...

Nice to see that this is still being improved. 1 frame is quite a feat for this game now. Good work!

Very awesome run. I hadn't watched Spezzafer's run in ages or played through the game in ~2 years so it was great to refamiliarise myself with some of the later levels. An incredible debut run, hopefully we will see more TASes from you in the future. I voted yes yesterday, but I thought I may as well drop in and say some nice things.

Wow, with three players, tough optimsation and a bottomless pit of tricks I thought I'd never get to see a good run of this game. I'll watch this when I find the time.

This run seems to be very poorly done, which is a shame is this is one of my favourite platformers on the SFC. I haven't tested these out yet, but some thoughts: - You spam the start and Y button at the beginning. Why not skip the intros with frame precision? - Why do you run instead of sliding? One would intuitively think that sliding would be faster (though I could be wrong). - I can visibly see the robot boss' invincibility end for a few frames before you hit him. - You have the same problem against the slime boss, plus the platforming starts to look quite ropey by this point (a few parts where you stall for a few frames) - The angel level looks really rough. If you are using the ledges to jump from you should be grabbing the edge perfectly, you seem to hover over them for longer than you need to. I'll watch the rest later.
