I have been actually. If this TAS goes well then i will definitely consider that for my next project. Here is my progress so far -- -From reset to game 14s -from start point to 'out of toon' 6s

Sigh.....the Visual Boy Advance emulator emulates the GBA, however, like the console it can also be used to emulate Game Boy and Game Boy Colour games. If this emulator emulates the PS2 console, then surely it can also emulate PSX.

I know for a fact that one can skip the Garo's Mask
Well, Romani Ranch is very out of the way, i think. I personally would skip the bunny hood because the Goron Roll does the same job in (what i think is) a more impressive manner. Anyone that can utilise that runaway train scores point in my book.

As far as the PS2 being backwards compatible with PSone goes. Does this mean that we could TAS PSone games on this emulator (in the same sort of way that we TAS GBC games on the VBA). I'm estatic at the thought of TASing Metal Gear Solid. iv bin speed running it for years and with this i could perfect my technique.

I guess so. You need to go that way to get the Garo Mask which when playing normally you need to get itnto Ikana Canyon. Since i haven't been following this run i don't know if a way has been found to skip that yet, although i am very eager to see this run.

Yeah it was nice, but it ruined all the mystery behind FF7s ending. Did Holy choose to remove all humans? Did it spare them? It should have been left at that.

I know of one shortcut now. Timing your jump you can get into the Lion's head early, directly after the Mecha Rez battle. Before i even begin to do my proper TAS i hope to TAS each individual level to denote the fastest 33 and hopefully get some shortcuts. Some routes are obvoiusly faster than others so this might not take as long as i'm originally thinking.

Is the Backwart Moving so fast than the Bunny Hood ? Not for the amount of time it takes to get it isn't.

TASing in itself is to exploit ALL errors made by programmers and console programmers alike in attempt to get the fastest possible time. If CC is used in a TAS (and it is stated that this has been used) and a better result (faster time, more entertaining) is the outcome then there's absolutely nothing wrong with this method.

This thread died a week ago. I never begun this TAS and never really intended to and my question of whether it would entertain anyone was purely out of curiosity towards a game that i am interested in. Besides, i assumed that everyone would have realised that i had no further interest in this game by merely looking at my 'working on:' part of the profile. I asked a question and Kyrsimys answered it perfectly. Topic Closed.

If were going to talk about classics, why not Space Invaders? They don't get much more classic than that. I've never really played it well enough to see any sort of ending, but if there is one it'd be worth going for i think.

I always loved this game, yeah sure gex is annoying, but i think the levels are so diverse and downright interesting. I think given the right route this could be a very entertaining TAS. I'm currently going through what route would be fastest. (i.e what remotes to gain.) I haven't heard of any glitches to pass through gates or anything yet, but im open to info.

Right, i've TASed the start of the game. You can download the Zip file here: http://www.filefactory.com/file/498eba/ Basically it's the whole start thing and the first four holes of the Marion Club championship. You may notice that the shots will fall from the shy directly into the hole; this is not possible from the distance i am hitting from (the ball jumps back out, or rolls up the flag and back down into the hole wasting time) but it is optimal. I feel that this TAS may be a long haul. Watch this short movie; if it's uninteresting then i won't waste any more time on it, if it's good then i'll be more than happy to continue. Remember that this is the first 18 hole course of five, so tell me if this sort of play and style would be entertaining for that length of time.

Not that the name matters all too much. I tried the first level and i decided not to do this run for now. Basically because the game has only mode of jump (regardless of time holding down the button the character still jumps to the same gigantic height) i may go back, but i'm too busy looking at other games at the moment.

Haha, i phrased that badly. I meant if he realised that a certain rom was so bad that it was worth starting from scratch to find a more reliable one.

Quick question for Guanobowl (or anyone that can answer): You said you had massive desync problems, but did you use the same ROM throughout?

It was before. My input wont register at all if its on haha. In the FAQ it says desync can be a shaky rom, does that mean that if a movie made by that rom desyncs then it will EVERY time. Or is it possible to start over and have the run go fine using the same rom?

In my initial attempts at this run i always chose Kid, essentially because it's fastest to select him and so keeping the run completely optimal. I may look back at character selection as what you have suggested is interesting. I think Sherry may be a new option because of her straight, and also drive won't matter considerably because of power shots which should easily cover the marion club before i can upgrade her. I will never lose power shots either because the shots will be perfect each time thanks to slowdown :)

That's exactly what i think. This TAS, like you said, spanned four months and the rerecord count shows your dedication to a long project.

That was good, very well done. Most impressive i thought (although it was all very good) was the rerecord count. Clear yes vote and clearly a great amount of effort has gone in. Just out of curiosity how long would a project with a rerecord like that take? I mean, what was your start and finish date?

Yeah, i did that but the movie i made still desynced (it wasn't a full movie thank god) so i just deleted the ROM, however, the rom itself played well so im wondering if desyncing is by chance and so i could just download the rom again and persevere.

It would be very impressive, however, at the beggining of the game the players stats are poor and so the shots draw (they move a little to the right) which makes trying to get a hole-in-one on the three pars near impossible (extremely difficult even with slowdown).
