Alright! And how about an all-points run too?

I wonder if someone could use these new tricks on a long run of this game: you know, when you make Wario wake up immediately?

I'm wondering if a run of FFIV Advance would be any different. It does go back to the regular (hardtype) version, and saving might be quicker. (Did it have quicksave or was that just FFVA?)
Yes, it does have quicksave.

Come on, kirbymuncher, have mercy on us! Where did you go? On a side note, I wonder if the fossilized Pokemon will get sent to your PC automatically when you receive them?

Here's something to help get this TAS run off the ground...assuming that the game will work right with the emulator now: http://speeddemosarchive.com/PokemonSnap.html

You should try working on the second game next...or maybe even do a run on the third game. (They all use the same engine, right?)

Looks like we need someone to apply this trick to the other Super Metroid runs (shudder)...

I guess we'll just have to wait until someone adds rerecording to a DOS emulator.

Starting a level on a staircase should be faster by a couple frames, but I'm not sure, that's just what I think it would be. Why don't you run it?
Oh, I forgot to mention; you can change how fast you're walking (still slower than running). I don't have the time, patience or know-how.

Which would be faster? Starting a level on the staircase, then selecting 'Ground' and 'Proceed' or starting a level right next to the staircase, walking one step on top of it, having the menu automatically come up, then selecting 'Proceed'? Hmmm, I hope someone does a run of this soon...

Anyone for a glitchless run?
Pika PIKA! But, more seriously, I don't think it would be different enough to warrant a new run. The only difference that would be noticeable, to me, would be the god damned rat running around complaining he isn't used first all the time... and Team Rocket sucking balls constantly.
Okay, how about a catch-all-Pokémon run? ...Whoops! This run DOES catch 'all' 151 Pokémon (and 1)! But seriously...

You need room in your party to get Lapras, so don't bother talking to the guy in Silph Co. for one.
No, you don't. You did in the original Red and Blue versions but in the FireRed and LeafGreen versions, Lapras will automatically get sent to your PC.

Let's see how different a FireRed/LeafGreen run would be compared to the originals... Ways the run would be faster: You get the Running Shoes after you defeat Brock and, even after you acquire the Bicycle, they'll still come in handy, as you can use them in places no bike can go, like Silph Co. and the Pokémon Mansion. You give Tea that you receive from a lady on the first floor of the Celadon Mansion to the thirsty guard instead of Fresh Water, Soda Pop or Lemonade you buy on the roof of the Celadon Department Store. More text fits onscreen at a time. Ways the run would be slower: I really don't think the Poké Doll will work this time with the ghost of Marowak, which means you'll have to go kick Team Rocket's butts at the Game Corner. No glitches that give you super-powerful Pokémon this time.

There are at least two different endings. This movie gets a bad ending, because all the secondary goals were dismissed.
Maybe you could also make a run that gets the best ending. If there's a big enough difference, perhaps both will get published.

Since this is the original version, if a TAS was made, would it replace the Super Mario Bros. 2 run the same way that Wonder Boy video replaced the one for Adventure Island?

WIP without need of emulator, please! ...I hope that annoying glitch with the emulator that elongated some sounds has been fixed.

Any chance of a run of this game being done without this glitch?

The problem with trading from another game is that you would either need a predefined save (which would put a run doing so into the same category as the New Game+ run for Chrono Trigger) or you'd need to play the second game from the beginning too, which (from what I can work out) would defeat the point.
The second game doesn't have to be recorded (I hope) so I don't think it would count toward the time.

This has probably been brought up before but I'm not searching through 39 pages to check... Is it possible to trade Pokémon between games with VirtualBoy? Because if it is, you could possibly raise and trade a Pokémon that knows Cut to the main game that's being recorded after Misty has been defeated so that you could simply cut down that tree at the south end of the city without having to go to Bill's place to move that policeman out of your way. You also don't have to go to SS Anne to get the HM for Cut. There's probably other ideas for other HMs too...

To get back on topic... Can any of these improvements be applied to the Knuckles-All-Emeralds run?
