Can any of these improvements be applied to the Knuckles-All-Emeralds run?

Sorry for double posting again, but I have to post this new link: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/885877548/King%27s%20Quest%20V%20TAS%20WIP%20BZero.fcm I realized that I didn't have to pick up the silver coin now, as I'm going back to town later on and I'm also passing by the bakery (where I use the silver coin) after the second trip to town. This will save me some time, since I don't have to leave and reenter town like in the last attempt. It will also look better. Anyway, I started all over again, but I used the old video as a frame-by-frame guide, so it didn't take that long to do. Whereas I had used 1945 re-recordings at this point in the first WIP I uploaded, I have now only used 228. For all three attempts together, I've used 2727 re-recordings, though.
Would it be troublesome to make a no-emulator-required WIP?

I started a test run of this game, but the problem is that every level of a dungeon is determined from the beginning. Once I manipulate Level 1, all the other levels are set.
And what Pokémon did you choose? It's, of course, a significant choice.

I don't know why, but the run desyncs horribly over here (Gentoo Linux, dega-1.14a). alden, could you post your ROM's md5sum, please?
Shiny, make sure you use Sonic The Hedgehog (U) (V1.0) [!]
Thank you!

Does Knuckles transform into Super Knuckles in this game? If not, I don't see much point in this but oh well.

And this one will take dedication like nothing else. The final runtime could very well be over 3-5 hours, although I haven't looked into any of the tricks.
That didn't stop people from making a 100% run of Super Mario 64 AND THEN obsoleting it...though, granted, you need to only collect 120 stars, not 201 golden bananas. Uh, what exactly nabs you the extra ending movie, the one with the cast trying out for another game?

Just try not to move the character around too much, please? I'm interested in this too but watching even ordinary speed runs of the series makes me motion sick...

Yep, there's already a thread. But I support KQV too! (And mouse support is not in DOSBox yet I believe :( )
Drat! That's the last time I rely on the search engine then. Now, how to merge the two...? And I've also heard that DOSBox has desync issues.

Once again, because the original is unavailable seeing as it is on DOS, a port will have to do. Tis basically a graphic adventure which we have a few of already. There's points to be had by doing stuff and getting the maximum (159 out of 158 if you set the bowl down on the table before filling it up) number is not essential, it might do for a 100% run. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/sms/code/588090.html I not sure if this information is correct as I'm more familiar with the DOS version but if it is, I'd sure like to know how these harder modes are different from the original.

I apologize if there's already a topic on this wonderful game. For those of you not in the know, this is a graphic adventure: a lot like Deja Vu except you actually control the visible protagonist via selecting commands and/or items and using them on the environment; that and the fact the hero's a king in search of his missing family instead of a hardened detective seeking to clear his name. Like the previous game in the series, there are points out of a certain number to be collected by doing things. There's no prize for getting the maximum number of points but it could do for another video if the fastest run doesn't have nearly as many points...kinda like with the big difference between the fastest Super Mario 64 run and the 120 stars Super Mario 64 run. Too bad there's no DOS emulator that has rerecording because, not only is the DOS version the original, it also is of significantly better quality (and has voice acting too!)...

I wonder how much longer a run that collects the emeralds would be than a run that doesn't. Too bad they wouldn't grant you access to anything extra. Yoohoo! Alden, where did you go?

How problematic. Even though I did download FFDShow, I still can't watch the Paper Mario WIP without the music eventually not matching the action on screen... Say, is that what desyncing is? I hear about it but nobody ever explains it.

Hmmm... Apparently, it is now possible to record videos using DOSBox: http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Recording_Video The question is, can we now do TASes? Come to think of it, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive TASes were done without a lot of the now essential implements in the early days, were they not? If it's possible... Show me the Gobliiins series, the WarCraft series and the Settlers series!

Here is my current progress on paper mario (m64 file):http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1344075107/Paper%20Mario%20TAS.m64 Sorry there is no avi file, it was too big to fit on anysite lol. It cuts off at the end because i needed to hit the heart box so i could kill the gomba's, and when trying to rerecord over it it kept freezing so i gave up on it for today. Should be a good enough to give you an idea of what its at so far. Also open to suggestions Note: im proud to announce this has been played with frame advance almost the whole movie (a first for me)! A few parts were not using frame advance, but was at 20% speed (only about 5% of the movie).
You could try cutting the AVI file into smaller parts so they would all fit.

I could upload an avi on rapid share if you'd like...the file is too long and too big to fit on youtube.

I don't see why we shouldn't allow a video of a run that flickers a lot...unless it causes seizures. Otherwise, it couldn't be worse than The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask; the fairy regularly became a different colour and that whole flashback sequence with Zelda was whited out.
