When the game works properly, we'll have to think up strategy for the minimalist run. It'd be a lot like Super Mario 64: which bananas are the fastest to acquire and are there any glitches that skip portions of the game? I've heard tell of one that allows Chunky to access the inside of Fairy Island, an area exclusive to Tiny... not that I see any use in that.

I just watched the run, it was pretty amazing, but I have one question: Why's the name Mark?
That's the default name though TAS Pokecustoms demand that names be only one digit long usually.

Awesome! And you're getting all the Chaos Emeralds too! One question though, are you sure you couldn't enter the Ring at the end of Sunset Hill Zone Act 2 a little less awkwardly?
Well I did it that way because I personally thought it made him look like he was moving too fast... oh well...
What I meant was, couldn't you enter the Ring a little earlier?

No silly, the *real* Super Mario Bros 2 :P ...at least I think that's what was meant ;)
Yes, that's what I meant. And this new trick needs to be used on the warpless runs as well.

I'll be darned if this new trick isn't applicable to Super Mario Bros. 2.

Tut tut. What's the difference between this and the published Donkey Kong run (besides the obvious)? I mean, why should this not get published when the original is?

In the recently posted Aladdin (SEGA) run, the TASer purposefully flew into the rocks in the lava level in order lose lives to exit it more quickly. There is a similar segment in this game; the part where Mickey rides on carts in the Mad Doctor level. Perhaps losing lives (first by getting hit by one of the buzzsaws when you have no fingers left then by either falling into the goo or missing the next cart) would be quicker than traversing that part of the level the normal way.

What're these? Is it possible? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7a1M6U2jCc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8smyDY4qfsg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bygHLiktMRA Is this person really tool-assisting and recording a SEGA CD game!? If so... I demand (politely) a full run of this game this instant!

Very good though I have to wonder if the second boss is optimized enough since you didn't hit it at a steady pace. And what about spin dashing? Is it really slower in this game?

It's nice to see a boss you always had trouble with getting its buttocks (?) kicked.

Glad someone else is in favor of a 100% run. I've been trying to jog my memory as to the locations of the Chaos Emeralds (and in doing so, have been cursing the developers for the ludicrous placement of the Emerald in Zone 2).
I uh, er, um, third the vote! After all, this person's already seconded it. Don't forget a YouTube version please!

Thanks! One question; is anybody going to try an all-Chaos-Emeralds run?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpXNCX8lqbw Good news: It beats the game (technically) with no stars. Bad news: It does it with GameShark codes. Still, that trick that got that person into the second Bowser area might work without codes...

A pity you couldn't find enough improvements to make it 22 minutes and 22 seconds. Oh well.

This is a TAS site. You should NEVER say 'never.' EDIT: Oops. Fixed mis-attributed quote.

I am of the opinion that the true Final Boss will make this run worth it.

Hmmm... How about a run that collects all six Chaos Rings, is not glitchy or both?
