This might be an intriguing game to do... It's kind of like Déjà Vu: A Nightmare Come True except slightly more graphic (quite a few dead bodies). ...And yet this version is a remake of a game of the same name released on the NES. ...And yet this has an English fan translation available. ...And yet fan translations are generally not allowed on this site. What to do, what to do...?

The sequel has an entirely different engine, and hasn't even been TASed yet. None of these improvements apply to the SNES spinoff, either.
... Then what is this, a pirated copy? http://tasvideos.org/315M.html

When was the last time someone attempted to improve the Gold and Silver run? One year ago? (hint, hint...)

Primo, how in the universe do you manage to finish your runs so darn fast? Do you have tons of free time or are you just obsessed?

This would mean having to fall back on Lick, which has a slow animation (55 frames slower than every time it's used). Gengar also cannot learn Bubblebeam or Water Gun, and the only other available TM at this point is Mega Punch, which also has a slow animation.
......Please tell me you didn't forget to turn off the battle animations at the very start. Or are some moves still slow than others based on the time it takes to describe it and the time it takes for the opponent's energy to deplete. Sorry if I sound stupid but I can't watch WIPs so I'm quite baffled.

How can you do anything BUT a 101% run? IIRC there is no real ending until you get all 101 bananas.
Uh...there are 200 Golden Bananas altogether in this game.

I wonder if it would be faster to put the Pokemon you don't use in the fights against the Elite Four in the PC so they wouldn't get registered into the Hall of Fame.

Okay, here's my plan for a speedrun on console. Most of it would also be applicable to a TAS, so I thought you all might want to see it. Any polite criticisms are welcome. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=26J8DNMC
Have you seen the unassisted run for this game at this website? http://speeddemosarchive.com/PaperMario.html

Great! Now can someone do a no-glitch run for both Juste and Maxim?

Oh. Boy, I feel stupid. And yet, I'll bet there's still improvements to found somewhere in this run. (singsong voice) Oh Nitsuja...!

The current run for this game has the Mushroom Hill Zone Acts 1 and 2 clocked at 57 seconds and 58 seconds respectively. Because they're done under 1 minute, you get 50000 bonus points. It takes 7-8 seconds for it to count down. Whenever a level is done over at least 1 minute (and under something minutes), you get 10000 bonus points instead. It takes only 1-2 seconds for it to count down. My point is, if someone were to wait a few seconds (although not make it obvious) and then complete the level the frame it turns 1 minute, you'll get an overall lower time as the difference between a 50000 point countdown and 10000 point countdown is quite big.

(Inhales Deeply) Why doesn't somebody do the Japanese and English versions of the SNES and GBA versions at the same time to see which one is faster?!

Great! Now the list of compatible video games for this emulator has to be expanded.

Is the region setting supposed to work for all games? For a while now I've been messing around with Tails' Adventures, which is a game that displays Japanese text when your Game Gear is set to Japan and English text when it isn't. But in Dega, it displays English text regardless of whether I check the Japan setting, while the setting actually worked when I tried it in Meka on the same ROM.
Tails Adventure?! Eeeeeyaaaaaaaahhooo!

That's the lowest I believe. I took advantage of every slope, and improved Nitusja's route by 54 frames which was already faster than mine.
We've heard that before!

Just remember... The NES version of Final Fantasy was used and accepted even though the GBA version gave you the ability to run.

Mario platform games... If there isn't a way to warp to the end normally, there's a way to warp to the end abnormally.

That hack is still in progress (or at least it should be, there are some bugs). I don't think it should be TASed until it's definatly complete :-)

Three possible scenarios for Sonic Advance, each that combined in several ways: 1. A no-glitch run. 2. A run using a character other then Sonic. 3. A run that collects all Chaos Emeralds and defeats the true final boss.

Are you going to attempt the oh-so-different SNES version when you're through with this?
