The only real issue is people rating their own movies multiple times. I caught a user who created three accounts and gave each of his own movies 10/10.

Well, we can go with other numbers too. $2 a month for 5GB or something.

I looked over some pricing strategies out there. Things are getting a lot cheaper these days, but not cheap enough. Is anyone interested in a subscription account which offers access to fast full length full quality videos? We could setup our own YouTube or Archive.org like site which doesn't have a time length or file size length, and wouldn't re-encode videos on us, and also offer high speeds. We just need to pay for it. Say $5 a month, and you'd be allowed to stream (or download) 20GB of video? Anyone interested?

Wow, about time. Now if only Bisqwit was alive and well to see this, he'd be quite impressed. Or perhaps he'd be angry, who knows with him. Maybe this TAS doesn't complete the game, because we don't see the ending if you know what I mean. Great job guys!

Most of those are probably case differences, or ": " vs. " - ". Then there is stuff like "Wario Land 2" vs. "Wario Land II".
In such cases, we should try to follow the convention as printed on the game's box. Game box images are generally found on Wikipedia for the game in question. Although I would deviate if the box is covered in so much art that you can't make heads or tails out of the proper name. Also beware that for some games, the name of the system or series is in the corner of the box, which led some to mistakenly conclude it as part of the name. Edit: As you can see, it's "Wario Land II".

No idea how to call this glitch. Due to reasons unknown (and lack of memory watch does not help), the game randomly gives the player a random powerup. The player can receive any of the following: a silver or gold keys or both, the rapid fire powerup or the triple laser shots. I have a savestate (please request it from me through a personal message on either forums or IRC) where you need to shoot a few more times before the game randomly gives you both keys (or not at all if you do not shoot). If anyone can figure how to get those consistently, please let me know. The laser shots are the best, but anything works. Getting keys means less sidetracking and thus a faster time. At current state, it's too incosistent to be put to practical use.
I'm thinking that after you get certain powerups, if you overflow some sort of keypress buffer, it awards you some other item too. I can do it consistently for turning a banana into a feelgood. I imagine other situations work too, just not sure which.

If you only have version 1.0 as I did, download this: ftp://ftp.3drealms.com/patches/hp11rpt.zip

7-Zip on ultra/maximum is generally pretty good. It all depends on the files though. If you want to see something really crazy, you can compress a 1GB file of all zeros down to a couple of bytes with bzip2. But that's just a special case.

You see, some Chinese TASer and I have discussed about that, turns out that 64.8% of us think that it's impossible to get the maximum score(9999950, that is, with 7 digits).
And why would that be? Last I checked, you keep your score through second quest (or was that only later ports of the game?). That being the case, you just do a full run through a couple times. I for one would also like to see TASs of SMB second quest.

I felt the exact same way too, but back then, it was just Morimoto and Bisqwit with a grand total of 8 or so movies to choose from.

You have to put yourself in my shoes guys. The games from the snes era represent a very nostalgic and enjoyable time for me. Growing up, I would have never dreamed we'd have the technology in computers, that would allow us to achieve some of the things we have today in gaming software.
Hey, I grew up with a rotary phone. Cordless phones were downright amazing. Cell phones are unfathomable.

It's mind boggling. Snes era games are some of my favorite. Don't get me wrong the new 3D stuff this gen is cool too, but nothing beats the golden era of old school 2D console and arcade gaming.
You're not the only one. I can't even enjoy any 3D games.

I mentioned this site on the ZBoard when it was invented. Then there were all those TASVideos commits I made. You looked at every commit to pester me about msys, but skipped all the video stuff? Well, glad you're enjoying another one of my projects. Although I doubt I'll be adding msys support to the site any time soon.
