I'm confident I can make it have a CRC32 of 0x42 as well. In fact, this movie does have a CRC32 of 0x42.

H.264 does require a signifigant amount of more processing power than say XviD. If you do have a really slow computer, that would be a problem.

It might be a greater display of mastery, but would bore some... If each multigame movie stuck to one genre or series, it should be fully enjoyable by anyone who is a fan of the series. A key point in this genre if you need to reverse directions, it's integral that the game offers pause points here and there. Doing a Megaman game is quite good because every powerup aquirement causes a small pause.

~260KB, of course this is limitied by my download rate. I'm told at work when we download updated OS CDs, they come at several MB a second.

Perhaps, but I'm sure most of us would rather see a quad Megaman run, than a quad run with only 3 Megaman games and something totally different. DeHackEd is also a Megaman fan, so it's his decision, and he probably will do Megaman only. BTW, is now a bad time to suggest all 5 of the Megaman platform games for the SNES?

I'm wondering why nobody's made an FCEU version that has a 'secure' mode that does heavy CRC checking, disallows ANY ROM modification, encrypts the input movie to prevent tampering, and that stores data about the emulated NES in the movie (for example, PAL/NTSC, CPU speed), disallows frame advance/slowdown, and makes the movie completely incompatible with the FCEu that we use. That way, it would help ensure that the video output is legitimate and that it was not tampered with in any way, else the movie won't even play. Require it to output a dialog or 10 seconds of video stating the parameters of the movie, to make sure that everything is in order. Perhaps, if an emulator could be secured fairly well against using input movies with hacked ROMs, then places like SDA and TG might begin to allow only those specific emulators, as long as they could tell with near 100% certainty that the run is fully legitimate.
After much study and comtemplation over the various problems, I came up with a format which would be impossible to tamper. No hex editing, no ROM hacking, no adding rerecord or slowdown to the emulator, no conversion from another format, etc... But regardless of how much I or someone else does in that area, what prevents them from running the emulator in an emulator and add save states and whatever to the parent emulator? The fact that DOS Box already exists and has patches out there for the needed features, or that some Linux kernels allow save stating, doesn't help us any.

I did a semi-serious TAS of this game during my C++ class over the course of a few days
In class you should be learning not playing games, and this is a programming class and no less than C++, what were you thinking? Then again in one of my recent C++ classes, I saw a student playing Super Bomberman 2 in Snes9x and it was a funny moment...

No point in cursing VBA, it's impossible to tell if something was editing or not, you need to see it with your own eyes.

What Truncated said. Regarding different size, I'm already working on Maze Master 2 which has larger puzzles, and I think I'm going to add locked doors and keys too.

I made a game, it's available here: http://nsrt.edgeemu.com/maze-master/ http://nach.tasvideos.org/maze-master/ Play in web browser. You can view the source too and try to find glitches if you want. The score represents how fast you beat each level, so the higher total score you get in the end, the faster you did it. My record so far is 12200, which means I did it spending 280 time units in levels (each time unit is almost a second). Here's how my Bombsweeper clone works: Use the arrow keys to manouver, enter when a big message covers the screen, D if you want to Die on purpose. You can walk as long as there is no wall in your way, if there is, you're allowed to push the wall as long as it won't bump into another one. However walls along the perimeter can't be pushed. Your objective is to reach the exit in each level. I don't think Konqueror supports key events, so you can't use that browser, otherwise I think it should work. Also asside from speed, how many of you can even beat the game let alone fast? ;) Post scores and level you managed to get up to.

Latest Debian packages of Bit Torrent haven't been working for me. However getting v4 from official site, or installing Debian packages for Bit Tornade works good.

Well watch this and calculate it: http://nsrt.edgeemu.com/mm3-wily2.rar You can optimize that of course with rerecording and all, but don't you think it's signifigantly faster if you much more often have a clear shot and don't have to run around so much?

Wait, so what's the glitch in this video? Just standing on the other side so the bouncy balls don't get in your way as much?
The glitch is I find a time when you can slide right through him, since you normally get hurt when touching him. And yes, now the cannon balls don't get in your way half as much, and you always have a pretty clear shot without getting hit yourself, no need to run back and forth.

If anyone wants to do this game, I found a glitch to allow you to beat Wily 2 a lot faster. http://nsrt.edgeemu.com/mm3-glitch.rar
