One issue with this is that, while our runs are certainly cool (especially when run on a console) they don't really play out any differently to what you can see on the site.
The point is to expose TASVideos and TASs to those not familiar with it. It's not intended to be interesting for our regulars.

I noticed there were a few 4-player races this year and I was wondering for next year how possible it would be to do something like [871] NES Mega Man 3, 4, 5 & 6 by Baxter & AngerFist in 39:06.92 or perhaps [2636] NES Super Mario Bros., 2, The Lost Levels & 3 by agwawaf in 08:49.78 over four consoles? turning all 4 machines on at once wouldn't be too hard if they were all set to power on and then just powered on at the plug via a power strip or something.
Or have the bot send the reset signal to all 4 at the same time, even if they were turned on at different times. But I do definitely like the power strip idea if feasable.

And we're back to static. Next TAS block should begin in roughly 90 minutes from the time of this post.

Isn't the whole point of the Demonstration category to allow these types of movies if they are deemed entertaining enough? There are multiple movies in this category that were sub-optimal at publication. It would be a shame to hide these movies from the public because of such a triviality.
My movie did get over a thousand downloads already... I explained why I haven't submitted it. If there's massive demand to have it published, despite its flaws, I'll reconsider.

Why are the first 3 TASers here getting different votes when they all TAS'd the same games? (and slamo TAS'd one more game than the other two) For those who aren't aware, you're able to select multiple options when voting for awards.

OmegaPaladin is asking if a (presumably more optimized) newly done TAS of SMW-SMB1 would be publishable.
Citation needed. Even to your question, why do you need a newly done TAS of SMW-SMB1? As for more optimized, Ilari managed to sync HappyLee's latest run on it. However if you want to see that run, it's been on the site for a long time now.

Also, is there any technical explanation for the minor glitches in the SMB part?
During the second run, there was probably still some interference, but less of it, causing enough bits to be messed up to ruin the display, but not enough to make the entire thing crash.

Just out of interest, are the total control Tases from AG15 being submitted to the site any time soon?
See this post on the last page.
In addition to that, see this post too. Summary: These TASs were made for impressing AGDQ2015, not TASVideos. They focused on quick creation for playing back on an SNES with TASBot, not for quick completion and minimization. While there may be some demand for publication here of these TASs, TASVideos does not publish subpar TASs.

For example, I recall Masterjun mentioning that they tried doing SMW-SMB1 in 2014, but there was some memory(?) limitation on how much code could be pumped in. How was that overcome?
There was a limitation on how much code could be transferred at once. We overcame that by having an improved bot (from true) capable of higher transfer speeds, and using a better transmission algorithm. Also, with this new system, only a single multitap was used instead of two.

Are the SMW and Pokemon Red AGDQ TASes being submitted officially to the site this time around?
No. You can watch the SMW TASs from userfiles. You can read my description for why I'm not submitting it. As for Pokémon Red, the TAS turns the game into a notepad program where future input presses display the text on the page. The text can be anything, and can be scripted from any source able to produce button presses, including live feeds from IRC or elsewhere. There is no recording of that, nor is any such recording meaningful.

And it's back to normal. I'll switch back to static if load suddenly gets higher, and when we have AGDQ TAS block later in the week.

It didn't all need to succeed. The concept of "Pokemon plays twitch" to a chat room full of twitch users watching was all that was needed.
You wouldn't say that if you saw the rest. Further the last part was to knock the socks off our TASers specifically.

Whatever is decided in the end, staff members, please ensure the correct movies are tagged, meaning removed where it doesn't belong, or restored as needed, as awards eligibility depend upon it. This is time sensitive as we should be going into award voting at the end of the week.

Due to expected high load from AGDQ later today, the front page is currently static. Which means don't expect anything special from it. Other pages should work normally. So if you want something to work correctly (as it normally does), navigate elsewhere. We'll be returning to normal functionality after the big load later.

So Nach, how "obvious" does the luck manipulation have to be? Should it be obvious to any viewer who has played the game, or can it be something you really have to read the submission notes to understand?
It should be obvious to someone familiar with the game that luck is being manipulated like crazy. If you're not familiar with the game, and you can still tell it's being manipulated like crazy (like the dice are always double six), even better.
