I have to second these. I also have to add [2435] SGB Mega Man V by Noxxa in 40:03.09 as one of my favorite TASs of the year. [2493] SNES The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse by Dooty in 14:57.57 and [2317] SNES Kaizo Mario World 3 by ISM, Mister in 17:11.23 were also interesting. All in all though I have to say the best were Jetpack, just look how much effort went into the first version: Wiki: GameResources/DOS/Jetpack, and Mega Man V as being extremely entertaining and well executed.

That'd be an unmanageable list. If there's a few newbies that really stood out to you that aren't mentioned by others, please enumerate them (and don't just paste the whole list).

I have to add numerics. He seems to have created one of our most beloved TASes ever.

I have to agree with Mothrayas. I'd also add that a superhuman amount of effort by multiple TASers went into Jetpack. Just take a look at Wiki: GameResources/DOS/Jetpack.

Just a quick question: what happens to the old run now it doesn't have a vaultable goal?
100% is vaultable. Main thing is though that 100% can be defined in many different ways in a Pokemon game. Another way to look at this is that the longer run is a normal playthough while this is glitched. I don't know what the best naming scheme / break up is, but it seems that one really should not be obsoleting the other. The vault accepts normal and 100% runs, it's just the naming isn't clear in this case, but it seems that vault run is one of them.

Nach: I have since reworked the detection, that piece of code is out-dated. But I appreciate your input. :)
I checked your Google Code repository, indeed, I see how you reworked it. Now you're checking for 5.1, but not for 5.2! This may be useful for you: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms724832%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

I noticed in the source code that you want a more secure way of finding the OS version due to the current one becoming wrong when running Hourglass in compatibility mode. This is a bit hackish but it should give better results: Get major and minor version numbers of svchost.exe in the System32 folder, at least on XP, XP 64bit, Vista, Win7 and Win8 the major and minor version number is the same as the OS. The reason to use the svchost.exe file is that no program ever need it (so it is not likely it will ever have a compatibility version) and it's a corner stone of Windows (so it is not likely to be removed in future versions of Windows) The GetFileVersion-function in the Windows API should do the trick. EDIT: I was bored, here's an untested function I threw together, it may contain a few errors but it should be close enough to the final implementation to be of help.
Language: C++

/* svchost.exe versions and their Windows counter parts: 5.2 = XP 6.0 = Vista 6.1 = Win7 6.2 = Win8 */ if(major == 5 && minor == 2) { return XP; } if(major == 6) { switch(minor) { case 0: { return VISTA; break; } case 1: { return WIN7; break; } case 2: { return WIN8; break; } default: { break; } } }
Windows XP is 5.1 AND 5.2. Which you get depends on a few criteria, but either is possible.

Last I checked, it was closed. Almost all the Neo-Geo source is closed. Only open ones I recall off hand are in FBA and MAME.
