it looks good, but i'm not gonna vote. dont' know enough about the game to make a sound judgement (other than that it's a terrible game to actually play)

well that's just the thing isn't it? The judges apparently decided from the get go that the only way this would be published is if it obsoleted the old one, an incredibally stupid restriction that was only put in place to not have this run. I wonder if they're so against the idea of rad racer runs, why the first one even made it, as this one is far more interesting than the RR1 run

You guys should just abandon the vote system and let the judges decide, as that's what you do anyway. Votes are obviously meaningless, this should have been published. And it IS a good argument that there are like 4 metroid runs (3 of them nearly identical) I honestly can't comprehend 4 metroid movies, 2 is enough. one that's 100% and one that's any percent. anything else is excessive. But people voted that they wanted it and they got it. They also voted that yes for this run, and it was killed rather quickly, despite that there are runs sitting on the workbench for months and months. "the general public" voted yes, and to have an insane condition like "we'll only publish it if people want it to obsolete a run of another game" is ridiculous. You basically set up a way that it could never be published (which is unfair, every run should have an equal chance) by putting an insane condition that it would only be published if it obsoletes another game's run. Of course people aren't going to go for that, which you most likely knew, so it gets rejected, despite being far newer than most runs on the workbench and most of the votes being yes. Since you guys admit that the votes don't matter as much as whether or not a judge likes the movie, why bother having votes?

voting yes, and it should NOT replace a run for another game. that's silly. "We should not have two of these published here" why? is there a valid reason why both games can't be put on? Is it a server issue? is someone going to complain? will having both runs cause you physical pain or mental anguish? obviously the other run was voted to publication, so now it should be obsoleted by something that's not an improvement but a totally different game? if you feel that strongly that there should only be one game in this series represented (and i can't see why) then why vote yes on this one?

meh, repetative. I would have liked to have seen more changing from character to character during the battles, you only did that like, once. if you do it fast enough it could certainly lead to some really cool/entertaining combos and the stage fatalities and secrets are a must

It's always funny when people vote no on a run that improves on the already published one. yes, of course.

not sure what you mean by improvement v9, my version says snes9x v1.43-dev if you could, get me a download link to the one you used. the first time i tried it desynched when you tried to do the kung lao fatality, the 2nd time it desynched during the reptile battle. after that it has you selecting sub zero instead of shang tsung

i'm sure it's more entertaining than watching olive collecting in battle of olympus or level building in crystalis.

well, level 5-2 is completed, but it comes at a price, i lost my re-record count. it reset to 7 about halfway through level 5-2 when i accidentally re-recorded over the entire thing and then used a save state to bring it all back. anyway level 5-2 is absolutely insane, as you'll see. this shit is virtually impossible to do in real time, it's virtually impossible even at 50% speed. If anyone questions why i use frame advance for a movie like this when slow speed might suffice, shit like this is the reason. (plus collision detection abuse) anyway the boss. another one that i kill faster than you'd think possible. he's invulnerable for quite a few frames even after the screen stops scrolling and he starts shooting you, unlike the eyeball/anus boss i didn't have to START shooting on the frame AFTER he becomes vulnerable, so i just had my first shot hit him on the first frame he can be hurt. http://www.crookedstep.com/abadox.fcm

I was working on my abadox tas when i went to watch it i accidentally clicked record instead of play. realizing i just lost it, and not wanting to go to the backup and lose all the work i just did, i used a save state to restore everything but it reset my re-record count to 7 is this a big deal? is there a way to restore it? or should i just redo the level that i was working on?

I haven't worked on this in a while, my mind's been on other stuff, but I'm going to finish it! I started work on it again yesterday and now have level 5-1 completed. Let it run for a few seconds after the movie ends and you'll see that I killed the boss so fast (he wasn't fully on the screen yet) that the game glitches and leaves part of his sprite (still shooting at me) on the screen. Pretty amusing. http://www.crookedstep.com/abadox.fcm
