I improved the published run by 85 frames. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/953464597/tas-youngindianajonesnes.fm2 Most is because of optimization. I found a better way to climb ladders too, and the bosses are quicker. This is a fun post.

Actually, I like this one better, no offense to Swordless, of course. I feel like this one shows off more interesting tricks. But I can see why it will be obsoleted, we have the all dungeons run.

Voting meh, due to starting off interesting and looking well done, but it got old too quick. There just didn't seem to be any variety.

It felt a little sluggish compared to the other fighting game runs, but it was pretty good when I got into it. Voting yes.

Normally i would say No, but thennI thought "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh defafsdafdsaer" so ill stick with yes. Actually, the run was pretty good. I agree that the cape flying was a bit boring, but hey, you gotta go as fast as possible. Yes vote.

that nico video wouldn't be accepted. The author uses passwords to save time.
I think it would be, because he only uses passwords the game has given him, i.e., he kills himself off, receives a password, and uses it.

I forgot to put around. but yeah I agree not clear-cut enough due to the bug.
Actually, this run was probably made on an older vba, because it doesn't sync on the new version. So the rr count is probably accurate.

Oh and excuse me for the high re-record count! I often use the Rewind function, and it adds +1 to the counter
No it doesn't, the latest version of VBA has a bug, when you load a state it adds 2 not because of rewinding.
Which version are you using? I tried the most recent version on the SVN and I do not have this bug.

So this run is only a work in progress? The workbench is intended only for complete submissions. WIPs are to be posted in the forums.
Yes, it seems to be if you look at the second last sentence paragraph. Also, why are you apologizing for a high rerecord count?

Super Metroid has a 3 minute unskippable cut scene at the beginning. It's fine.
THATS WHY I RATED ALL THE SM RUNS 0/0. well actually I've never seen an SM run in full, because I don't have an interest in Metroid games except the first.

Using a save-file simply to skip the intro cut-scene is not normally an acceptable reason to use the save-file. Save-file runs are normally only reserved for where there is a new mode of gameplay, either difficulty or a new map, and so I would say using a save-file in this case would be a mistake.
So you're saying to take the 10 minutes of an unskippable cut-scene.
Yeah, man, I agree! I also think we should use saves that are at the last boss, because, you know, the audience doesn't like to wait. What an absurd thought.

Ok, so it makes sense for Psycho Fox, Quartet, and Zanac, because they were submitted as .tas. But! [2066] SMS Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse by Tee-N-Tee in 12:48.54 and [2025] PCE Dragon Egg! by adelikat in 07:11.58 were submitted as .bkm, yet published as .tas. What's up with THAT, man? I thought people agreed that .bkm was the suitable extension, and then you go and publish .tas's.

I'm voting no. The run is clearly not very optimized.
*You mashed start to skip the intro. That was sloppy. *You abused Spawn's more powerful moves, even though the dash attack is faster and kills enemies anyway. *Some movements are clearly not frame precise, like the wall jumps. *At the end of some bosses when the Spawn icon is falling, you can use the flame uppercut to reach it much faster then a regular jump. *Sometimes, you waited in place for an enemy to walk toward you, then beat him up. You could've ran toward him and beat him up. That could've saved time. *Not related to the quality of the run, but your amount of rerecords seems pretty low for a 30 minute run.
To prove these theories, here is a WIP that saves nearly 10 seconds from the first level, simply from better precision. It still isn't very optimal, so you could beat it. This game would make an OK TAS because it has a decent amount of variety. I encourage you to redo, and make new posts for WIPs, instead of editing your first one, because people will not notice your post if you just edit.

I'm somewhat surprised you didn't notice there was a thread already: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1173 Also, here is another thread for the 32X version, which seems to be the preferred edition: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=215019
