If I had a D'oh! for every time someone called me Nitrogenesis I'd be Aglar.

I tried this game out to TAS. I'm beating the published movie by nearly 140 frames. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1649215942/COIWPI1.mmv That's the first 3 levels. I hope you like it.

Not gonna work on this game right now, but I figured I'd share a WIP. It's 14 frames ahead of [1528] Vboy Virtual Boy Wario Land by adelikat in 18:39.56 when it stops. It can probably be improved further if you only collect 1 coin instead of 2 like me. http://www.mediafire.com/?57bah4dp43cfkze I think barge-jump is faster to use then barge. So yeah, just throwing this out there if someone wants to improve the current run.

I rated Solomon's Key by agwawaf a 3/3 because I didn't see much TASy moves and the game was very boring. Then later agwawaf rated my Normy TAS the exact same. What's the deal with that? Is he angry at me for not liking his movie? I don't think it's a coincedence. Sonikkustar rated the Mario multigame run a 3/7 because he doesn't like multiruns. So agwawaf goes and votes Sonic 2 a 3/7.

Looks like a nice game. The jumps probably could be optimized a bit more but this looks acceptable. Yes

Even though this run is clearly very unoptimized, I really enjoyed it thanks to the instant weapon switching. If someone could hack that into the NES games I would be so happy. I think someone here started doing that but never finished.
There are some MM5 hacks that have wepon switching, like Rockman 5: Wily's Dream Space, so it's definitely possible.

It is my fault because I have forgot to put a 512kb encode up. Sorry

I think you should publish this now and I will add the encodes to the archive later.

Question, did you check to see wether it's faster or slower to go diagonal? From the looks of it, your y-speed remains the same, but it doesn't hurt to make sure.
Never hurts to check :P No, there is no difference, if what I checked is correct.

I didn't find it, this person did! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fs06h5YhG0A It is a realtime speedrun and I just wanted to know what it would like TASed. And this site needs more pirate games :P Thanks for the yes vote.

Link to video :P Would this be submittable if I polished it up more? We have a pirate game on the site already. Edit: Scrimpy told me to submit an improved version, so I did.

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7D22D05CE09BFA41 This is a playlist of all the longplays I've done for longplays.org. These ones were encoded by me and uploaded by cubex55 (which is actually just the moderators from longplays.org, heh) however you can download the raw mkv's on the main site and on archive.org for better quality and full FPS :P Some longplays of mine are still waiting to be approved though.

I just longplayed this game and got the urge to try TASing it, because when I watch the published run I see a lot of improvements, well it is from 2005 :P * Around frame 40170 nitsuja shoots a guard, but doesn't get rid of the corpse. The friendly alien will only run when the corpse is gone so you should shoot the corpse so you can reach the cover faster. * In the room at frame 44702, nitsuja pulls the lever and then heads down the chute. You can actually skip pulling the lever because you can quickly make a shield and then kill the guard that would be there. I'm not sure if this would save time. *Sometimes when nitsuja has to wait, he jumps around and doesn't kill the guards that come into the room until later (Around Frame 37995). Maybe killing the guards early could reduce lag. *When Lester is trapped in the cage with the alien (frame 7636) you can just hold Left+Right and that might cause the cage to fall faster, I don't know. (EDIT: It doesn't :P) *Around frame 29900, when the guard picks Lester up, nitsuja just seems to mash the "A" button. Perhaps maybe a frame precise "A" button press could do a faster kick. *I don't understand the hesitation to kill the guard at frame 43264. *The movement could be probably better optimized. That's all the improvements I could think of for now. Maybe when I TAS the game, I'd find more...

Can someon link me to a version of snes9x that syncs with this movie? I'm trying to get it to play and not having much luck.
I got it to sync with 1.43 v10 if I unchecked "Volume Envelope Height Reading" in the movie playback popup.
