Why do people even post processing videos? All it does is delay the processing in my experience. It still isn’t done.
I was leaving and I felt I should post the URL because I expected it to finish soon. But... something went wrong I guess. Never happened to me before.

Hang on, I only managed to beat my previous run by a few ypixels, but it wasn't enough to save a frame. So yeah -> http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/24001942948721664 final version. Encode (processing): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BVKT2KgIU0

Hang on friends this submission is BAD as fuck. I improved it by 11 frames. I'll try improving it again, because this game deserves to have a tightly optimized TAS, but here's a new version: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/24001942948721664 I'll let you know when I finish a new one friends.

Looks good to me. Is Kurabupengin still interested in improving?

It's faster. The difference in entertainment isn't big. So I'd say it's Moon-worthy.

I don't think 80 frames of tradeoffs is what made the pivotal difference.

I'm fairly sure it was revealed the "wall glitch" was just Game Genie, and the author of the "wall glitch" TAS is known to digitally manipulate and edit his TASes before uploading (he's never released an input file), so don't lose sleep over it.

How much of arkiandruski's run remains in this TAS?

Oh yeah. It seems obvious to the TASer what's going on but I guess I forgot about everyone else. Basically when I stop in the fridge at the beginning, I get a salami. This is basically ALF's attack in the cave, and the attack animation depends on how long you press the button. So since it's fastest to just tap the button for one frame only, it renders the animation to basically nothing, and makes it looks like ALF isn't attacking them at all. (Why they jitter around like mad after you hit them I have no idea.)

Technically, we've had it for over 5 years with DOS and JPC-rr, but this is still an exciting expansion for the library of TASable games. We can start up an Apple II wishlist thread now!
According to adelikat every game on the AppleII is bad for TASing. Ultimate Challenge: get an AppleII run to Moons.

Yeah I think the first improvements come from the bookshelf fight where Diman lost a few frames. I thought there was improvements to be found in the thriller dance sequence by killing the enemies faster, but I later discovered its a set timer. No use there.

I've tried TASing this game before but it puts me to sleep. How much frames have you saved over Diman's published run? When I tried I think I got around 40-something frames before the sewer level where I just threw my hands up and declared defeat.

Sans the first, those don't seem particularly vicious.

I looked over the movie. It is very well done. Certainly better than my recent attempts that incorporate this warp glitch. So congrats to Kyman for that. I think there are still some lag frames that can be removed, though. Here is a bk2 that saves 1 frame in the Hall of Stairs: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/23293493663472062 This bk2 is just something quick i threw together, don't expect TASing perfection from it.

This is true. But I haven't had much TASing time lately so I don't mind this submission I'll look into this later.

Dimon: What are you talking about? For me, the description is only one or two paragraphs, and it loads fine on my mobile device. (Also, an encode has recently been added.)
The first revision of the submission text had a formatting error that stretched the entire text onto one line, therefore making the page super wide.

It's not an emulation error, the game is programmed to accept 2P start input, and it works on a toploader last time i checked. Think of it as a left+right thing.

voting No because I discovered the P2 pause trick and it's only mentioned in sonikkustar's subtitles and nowhere else! and because of that I have nothing interesting to talk about to women at bars. shameless self-promotion anyway I have no strong opinion on exposure getting co author credit but I do agree with derakon that the way spikestuff went about this doesn't sit fully well with me.
