Thanks for the updated encode, very much appreciated. I suggest a screenshot like this: Showing how the characters can stand still on very steep windows. I might post more screenshot suggestions later, I will non-minor edit this post if I do so you are notified and I don't spam the board with too many posts. edit (more screenshot suggestions): Going around UFOs and enemy troops, killing people with... a fork Pig and chicken?

This has got to be one of the worst games I've ever seen. The music is... just horrible. And it's unrealistic. A Lamborghini can't run at 320 miles per hour. 320 kilometres per hour, maybe. But miles per hour, no. The first part of the movie was... meh. But the last 4 races are just amazing and hilarious. It is enough for me to cast a yes vote, this is the proof that even obscure, boring, bad games can be brought to shine if TAS'd correctly.

Thanks! Now that was a clear explanation even I could understand.

The TAS is excellent and this encode deserves a yes vote by its own, so I'd vote yes twice if I could. And... I hate Final Fantasy so this shows how much this TAS is great.

I like what I see. I'm going to yes this as soon as it hits the workbench. Sorry if I ask you again something that was already explained, what are the pauses in ARZ2 for? I read in the previous pages it's because of the boss timing but the explanation isn't very clear. Since I think there can be other confused viewers (especially when this hits the workbench), would you be kind enough to clarify again?

Thanks for the encode, Highness (and thanks for uploading it, Feos). I'll go ahead and cast a yes vote, but I sure hope the sync issues can be resolved.

I really can't get it to sync, no matter how many times I load and reload the movie. I'd love to watch this, because I like Metal Slug. This shouldn't matter unless the emulator is doing it very wrong, but what audio/video settings are you using? It would be ridiculous if different audio/video settings can affect the playback.

I can't get it to sync. I tried 003c and 005, and I tried to load and reload the rom, but it always desyncs in the first level (near frame 4600) when the 5 helicopters arrive (and you should destroy the first one). The helicopter doesn't get destroyed, and the players go to the right of the screen. Also question why aren't you playing it at level 8 difficulty? You can change it via service mode (F2).

As usual here is an optimised version of the chosen screenshot: Please, tell me if I should stop doing this or if you're actually appreciating my help.

Glad to see you used the screenshot I suggested. Here is a version (of the clean one) which was run through PNGOUT:

I think you should, at least, try, to redo everything.

I voted no because this is not Super Mario Bros 2. Runs of this should only be done on the Japanese original.
DITTO! What the hell is this, anyway? Another crappy mario hack??
Use these links to educate yourself on the Super Mario Bros 2 / Doki Doki Panic / The Lost Levels: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_Bros._2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doki_Doki_Panic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_Bros.:_The_Lost_Levels Basically, this is a Mario-themed version of Doki Doki Panic, and it is the official Super Mario Bros 2 outside from Japan. Because, the Japanese Super Mario Bros 2 was thought to be too hard for non-Japanese people. They later released it to America and Europe as "The Lost Levels" in Super Mario All-Stars.

Thanks for the encode, Nahoc. I made two screenshot suggestions from the Youtube encode: (of course they need to be remade properly if someone likes them) As for the run, great improvements to the last one. And I loved the last one. So I love this one even more. Yes vote.

If you're doing a 100% run I would include the secret levels too. Otherwise it will be a 90% run.

I, too, think this should be in a separate category. It is a low% of sort?

Mister Epic: you're right about the first screenshot, somehow it manages to use 370 colors, even though the SNES should be capable of only 256 at the same time, this run is so glitched, it makes the SNES do things it shouldn't be able to do. By the way: 21789 -> 19846 bytes 6992 -> 6913 bytes 7278 -> 7258 bytes :)

This run is so amazing, I can't even list all the awesome moments, there are too many. On the contrary, I think there are way less than 40 boring seconds out of 40 awesome minutes. Now, have a couple of screenshot suggestions: Yes they're taken from the encode so the frame number is not accurate (the pause doesn't work very well), I didn't feel like downloading this rom just for this, though if someone will take raw screenshot I will gladly optimise them.

"Coinless-Cannonless-Capless". It is a definite goal, different enough from the 0-, 1-, 16-, 70-, 120-stars runs. I think it deserves publication along with the 0-stars and the 120-stars runs. 16 and 70 are arbitrary instead. But hey it's just an opinion, and it should not discussed here, but here. Off-topic posts do nothing good, and I am sorry I already posted one.

I am one of the biggest SM64 fans out there, I think SM64 will never get enough love, I like to see as many SM64 runs as possible, and this one is no exception, it looks very optimised and entertaining. However, despite all of these good motivations, I still think we should be objective and that this category is arbitrary nowadays. Sure there are other games with even more arbitrary categories, but somewhere in the guidelines it says that one error done in the past shouldn't be ground to redo the same error in the future. For the same reason I think a 70 stars run should be rejected, and focus only on the 0-stars and 120-stars, AND possibly the CCC run since it has a completely different goal. But 16-stars, 70-stars, 42-stars (isn't 42 the answer to everything?) are arbitrary categories which should not exist. Voting meh.

Speaking of ROM, in which area are you when you collect the 144 coins? I just want to be sure, because maybe you are in the ROM area and you try to collect a block which is marked as a coin, trying and retrying to turn it from "coin" to "collected coin", and failing because the block can't be overwritten. Either way, as I did with the other submission, I cast a gigantic YES vote because this is amazing, even though it might not be possible on a real Game Boy. I'd test it on my real Game Boy, but I'm not sure which version of the game I have, and I never managed to perform the pipe glitch anyway.
