I can make a singe part encode instead of you, with some explanations and memory display. Can I try? (Although, I cannot upload longer movies on youtube, due to a Japanese cellphone carrier! So I would like to ask you to upload if the encode have finished)
You can definitely do that, and I would very much appreciate it. To be clear, I still will work on my youtube encode. However, I wanted to get this published, because I felt it was disrespectful to let it sit for so long.

Ok, it's been too long and I haven't gotten the time to work on this that I wanted. I'm going to publish this, and work on my youtube encode later. I'm going to use Touch-me's current encode for youtube during publishing.

Ah, you need to record the keypresses file if you want to submit it to this site. The judges must verify the file by playing it back on their emulators. If you record an avi with fraps we can't do that. http://tasvideos.org/TASHowTo.html

Because I didn't want to publish the video until the subtitles were finished. Now the subtitles are *almost* finished, but FF is seeking critiques on his work. Once that is done this will be published.

Big Mac isn't retarded, he's just laid back. The two small unicorns that are idiots are just two (very young) idiots. (Snips and Snails) I think you're being blinded by the fact that this is a show with (almost) entirely female protagonists because it was written for a female audience. Which means that the other roles are either "supporting character" or "antagonist." So naturally, all of the male characters will fit into one of these two places. As a counterexample: Spike is male, he's thoughtful, like-able and generally knows what's going on, despite being a baby dragon. He's also a protagonist. As an example of negatively portrayed female supporting characters and antagonists: Derpy Hooves, Gilda, Trixie, etc. Examples where supporting male characters have been portrayed in a positive light: Braeburn, Pipsqueak. Examples where similar characters of differing genders are treated similarly: Hoity Toity (male), and Photo Finish (female)

So you're essentially judging the reputation of the person who submitted the movie, rather than the TAS itself? That seems like quite an unfair criteria, but hey, you're the judge. On the other hand, it partially explains the voting. I guarantee that if some other player had submitted this exact same movie the percentage of yes votes would be higher...
To clarify, I'm not a judge, and I don't envy a judges job. I'm just a publisher. However, it is true that "ego" movies are frowned upon, and Saturn has pretty much the largest ego and highest amount of obsession with perfection as compared to anyone else on the site that I know of. (Which is significant, because this website is the perfectionist's wet dream.) As evidence, just over 10% of Saturn's posts contain either the word "perfect" or "optimal" as compared to (for instance) less than 1% of my posts.

It seems to me that restoring the cathegory isn't an issue, like the site manager said. Imo, this submission should be treated like an improvement. People should just judge the run seeing if it acomplishes the goals set by the TASer, if the run is well optimized and if it's entertaining, and vote based on that.
Just because adelikat is open to the idea doesn't mean that it needs to happen. Additionally, the motivation behind this movie seems to be primarily one of trolling. Saturn seems to revel in posting controversial and borderline movies. It's been mentioned before in this thread that Saturn has movies that would be accepted if he submitted them, but he doesn't submit them because he's rather submit something like this so he can get a lot of attention. Honestly, were I a judge I'd be borderline about accepting this movie for only that reason.

Hmm... along a similar vein, there was a game, for the Genesis I believe, where you played four different character's quests (no particular order). And all I remember is the yellow character's quest involved a boss battle with a machine/tank that had an antenna on its top and when you broke it he started shooting enormous lasers out of its front. Anyone know what game it is?
An update on this, I managed to figure it out, it was Bucky O'Hare. Turns out I had the system wrong.

Having watched this movie twice (once on youtube for the commentary), I think I can definitely vote yes on this. Very well done Touch-me. :)
Yeah, that's what I get for not reading the thread, no less than 4 people told me about this through various channels. ;) I've got the video dumped and it's encoding right now.

I'm having difficulty making this video sync. It desyncs at the final hit to the Mana Beast. I've tried turning on 5 controller multitap and 8 controller multitap in the input menu, but it's not working. Any suggestions?

Actually, you should be doing audio to aac or ogg. aac is preferred though. Use the Nero encoder.

Encodes aren't a lot of work once you get everything set up and do the learnings. But hell, when I submitted my movies to the site, I didn't have a half a clue on dumping videos. It took me well over a year to get even something halfway competent done and still longer before I actually started producing encodes for the site rather than just for my own personal testing. Encoding has a very high barrier for entry compared to making TASes. It's just that once you get past that everything is rather straight forward (way easier than TASing overall of course). I think even posting a link to the video dumping section of the website is rather rude. "Hi there, thanks for contributing to the site, now make a video."

OmnipotentEntity’s encode on youtube has metallic sounds when an attack hits. Some other unknown thing might cause this. Snes9x rr 1.51 v6 and snes9x-1.51-rerecording-svn147 work fine in my environment.
For my youtube encode I have the quality of the audio set a bit too low. This isn't a problem in my other encodes, because I used a different audio codec with different settings.

Hi there, If you're a US citizen and you enjoy engaging in placebo petitions, I would appreciate it if you signed mine relating to Instant Run-Off Voting. Pretty much, I'd like to see the problem of "throwing your vote away" as it relates to voting third party fixed. I doubt that just this petition will get it changed, but if it becomes famous enough, it might get actual important people talking about it. Currently the petition has 105 signatures. Once it gets 150 it will be searchable on the website, and at 5000 (in under a month) it will be forwarded to a presidential advisor and publicly discussed.

Lastly, for encoder, please encode this on latest emulator. The sound effects on older emulator are quite different from them on console.
The emulator used is Snes9x rr 1.51 v6; is that what you mean by "latest emulator"? praetarius3, could you estimate how many rerecords the script did, and how many you did by hand? I'd like to think you spent a lot of work on it (which I am absolutely sure you did), especially since this game appears so hard to TAS. To encoders: I've looked through the thread, and I still don't see a downloadable encode that meets site standards. I thought creaothceann made one, but he says that his encode is 30fps, and didn't upload a 60fps version, if he had any. OmnipotentEntity uploaded only a youtube version.
I have one ready to go for the past month or so, with a 512kb version, a screenshot and a torrent, I'm ready for publication pretty much.
