Topic Search Pros: Might be useful now that we have 100 page threads. Cons: High CPU useage. And the SQL Query probably has to be rewritten. I have to look into that. I have a board with this already installed. (Careful though, some of the other threads are NSFW.)

I'd assume it's possible to do this with the superslide, and I doubt it would waste frames there.

Or perhaps you could stagger them by a frame, start the second copy a frame later than the first, the third a frame later than the second. etc. etc.

Random question: is it faster to move diagonally up/left instead of wobble left and wobble up?
Diagonal movement is 1+1,1+1,1+1, etc. pixels/frame Regular movement to the right and down is 1,2,1,2 etc. pixels/frame Regular movement to the up and left is 2,1,2,1 etc. pixels/frame Movement while carrying an object or holding out your sword or walking in the water is 1,2,1,1,1,2,1,1 etc when going down or right and 2,1,1,1,2,1,1,1 etc when going up or left. Or 1+1,1+1,0+0 on the diagonal (iirc) For wobbling you just take the first number of each, so wobbling up or left is 2,2,2,2,2, which is the same speed as moving on the diagonal. Unless you're in water or holding something or have your sword out, then it's faster than the diagonal.

dezbeast, if you slashed the rat in the basement to the left, you'll probably want to go back and slash it downward or even to the right.

W Maneuverability: LttP (Mirror)
Unusable in this situation, as this battle is assumed to take place in the Light World to begin with as it's the only place where all the Link's can gather and then get pissed off at eachother and go at it. Because we begin in the Light World there's no egress into the Dark World. The Mirror only goes Dark -> Light, not the other way around.
Zurreco wrote:
Magic: Assuming that Spell and Reflect don't affect LttP Link, the Fire spell is going to be considered an equal to the Fire Rod, and that the Fairy spell has no effective uses in the proposed battle, AoL Link only has 3 effective spells. Jump is cool, but it doesn't really add to the already infinite maneuverability advantage. Heal is excellent, but it only gives a moment's reprieve. That leaves Thunder, which is trumped by 3 attack spells of assumed equivalent power. Sure, Ether will only stun AoL, but it's better than nothing. I'm going to have to give this to LttP Link, but only by a tiny bit.
Quake can't effect you unless you're on the ground, jump or fairy. Bombos on the other hand would be the weapon of choice. So it's pretty much Bombos vs. Thunder. Thunder is a faster cast. :3 Also, Reflect reflects everything, not just magic, it turns his Shield into the world's strongest anything. Why wouldn't it work on LttP Link? I doubt it would work on Bombos or Ether, but on arrows or the Fire and Ice Rods, definately.
Zurreco wrote:
Defense: As stated earlier, AoL has a Heal spell. LttP Link has the Magic Cape and the Staff of Bryna. Assuming any situation, LttP Link also has the Moon Pearl in case AoL shoves him into a portal or something.
AoL also has Shield, which is incredibly cheap on magic.
Zurreco wrote:
Ingenuity: LttP's Link has a lot more of an inventory to work with in battle. Whilst AoL Link is generally stuck with spells and downstabbing, LttP Link has a bag full of goodies that he can always use. Bottles! Net! Mirror! LttP Link effectively turns into Rambo McGyver on the field.
I'll agree with aLttP link winning the battle of items. But Net? No use. Mirror? No Use. Bottles are the be all and end all to items though, just grab some bees. :3 As I see it, this battle is all about whether or not AoL can get into Melee range before LttP's Ranged attacks can wear him down. Unfortunately, AoL is a difficult target to hit, with all of his jumping around, turning into a fairy, Reflect spelling nonsense. And you could say, well, once AoL gets close all he has to do is use the Staff of Bryna or the Magic Cape and get away, this is true, but it also drains magic blindingly quickly. Especially if you consider that he's going to be using Bombos or Ether, plus the Firerod and Icerod. I doubt that either Link would waste his magic ineffectively; however, AoL's spells augment what he does best, they raise his attack and defense, heal him, and make him more manuverable. LttP spells don't. They're one shot, and when they're gone they're gone. The overwhelming item advantage is almost completely lost when LttP runs out of magic. So, to sum up, LttP Link has the beginning down, but as he runs out of consumables he loses effectiveness. His power is in range, but his ranged attacks only work for so long and aren't particularly effective against AoL with the exception of Bombos and Ether and those go quick. So we go from an aLttP advantage to an overwhelming AoL advantage going into the endgame. Assuming that he has the Wisdom to not charge in headfirst and get the shit blasted out of him. :3

In Paperboy the drops are random, but they are determined by the frame in which you enter the stage and cannot be maniplated further than that without dying.

I voted for AoL Link, but I think it's more of a showdown between AoL Link and aLttP Link. Comparing the stories between the two, AoL has more experience and has far more epic quest than aLttP with comparable equipment (AoL has better spells and is more manuverable (downthrust, upthrust,) and more magic, aLttP has the cape.) AoL Link already killed Ganon, and not only that he killed the Ganon with the most experience and the only one that wasn't bound in some way (He had broken free from the Dark World, kidnapped Zelda, and already built a base of power.) (aLttP he was bound to the Dark World, but that doesn't really matter, which is why I consider him a contender.) All in all aLttP Link would beat LoZ Link, but lose to AoL Link, the difference is experience. I would have said TP Link, because his adventure has the same dark tone as AoL Link, but I haven't played it and chances are you haven't either. So time will tell on that one. EDIT: Link's Awakening Link is LttP Link without awesome equipment. OoT Link: he has massive staying power (20x2x5 hearts, x7 for MM.) But his spells take forever to cast, and he only has 6 shots, 3 for Fayore's Wind, unless he carries Blue Potion. And he doesn't even have spells in MM, he has masks, but Oni Link Mask is sealed, and he's a better fighter without them. But OoT can't deal damage with the speed and amount that either aLttP or AoL Link can and they aren't slotches with it comes to HP either (aLttP Link can take half as much damage, AoL has a healing spell.) And he's less manuverable than either. He has a horse, but I don't think he's allowed to use it in this fight. Wind Waker Link: I'm not even touching this. He'd die, and if he's smart he'd stay down. Four Swords Link: What kind of Link only has six hearts max? The Link that won't survive anything. Sure they can dish out physical damage, but not much. Their chances are placed solely on them working together against a large group of enemies that go down quickly. None of the other Links go down quickly. Minish Cap Link: No power, no spells, no cool items. But he can be your friend and fuse Kinstones! OoA OoS Link: See above. Only without the Kinstones. CD-i Link: C'mon he has to be rescued by Zelda. -_-;;

Holes in the water levels, you move slower because the holes suck you in. 8-3 the waiting was necessary. 8-4 could have probably been handled better. So could various parts. But all in all, very nice.
