Yes, but from a coder's perspective, it seems as if you are placing the blame on him and his code. Which he may or may not find insulting. Additionally, he assumes that the problem is a result of something he changed. So that's where he starts looking, and it wastes his time and yours. And you could try asking, not complaining.

I had hacked on the configuration for about an hour and a half a few months ago, and it simply wouldn't load. I tried again for 3 hours today and it worked. It turns out that I flubbed typing a mv command last time, and after that it was simply a matter of getting everything to work well. Still slow as crap, but that's probably because my computer is slow as crap. But I'm not worried about performance anyway, as I'm going to be frame advancing. I'm going to be attempting to figure out the randomness system before I move on. Though, my current theory is that the random number generator is "on wheels." It's accessed and changed everytime a decision is made, and there seems to be no way to effect it. I'm going to confirm or deny this theory this weekend.

I already have a YouTube account. I'll get started on flagging the bad movies, and uploading the few I have downloaded to my computer. Actually, I take that back. As the only video I have on my computer that is both less than 100 megs and shorter than 10 minutes is my Ducktales run. And that would be all sorts of self-centered.

I'm not really working on this... much... Because I don't have a Windows machine anymore. If anyone makes a Linux Compatible version of VBA that would be awesome-itacular. If not, I'll eventually get around to it. Eventually.

Wow, hating on Linux because Perl is line noise. You know, there's more resonable reasons to hate Linux. Especially, if you hate Linux because of something that really has nothing to do with Linux. I love Perl personally. Sure it's difficult to read, but it easy to program in (if you know the tricks, which apparently you don't). But not everybody does, and there are more accessable scripting languages that are prettier to read, like Python.

I'd personally rather see original bosses with original movements and powers, than bosses from other games. Perhaps in a Megaman 3 hack.

Maha, gradius is an auto scroller, you'd be pressed against the right side of the screen the entire time.

Because you totally can't have dynamic content without having that question mark in the URL.

The experience I've had with submitting an article to /. is they usually get rejected very promptly.

I actually started making a speedrun of this, about 6 months ago. Then my eyes started to bleed, so I stopped.

KERBUMP! Give the set of numbers whose amount of coprimes less than or equal to itself is not divisible by four. (Set of all n where phi(n) is not congruent to 0 mod 4, and phi(x) is the Euler Totient Function.) And also, prove that using quarter face turns only, a Rubik's Cube scrambled with an even number of moves can only be solved with an even number of moves. Same for odd.

I just watched the run up until getting Zelda, and... this run is sloppy. Here's a rundown. If you must enter a name. Do it as quickly as possible. 1) You can go down while going over. 2) You can press Start immediately after you enter your name. 3060: Clipping the doorway is always slower. 3200: You can wobble here. 3450: Why do you lift that bush. There's only one rupee under it, it's not enough to justify expending a second and a half on, when you can spend a half second on 20 for any enemy. 3738: You can get closer to that wall. 3831: You clipped the top of that wall. 4152: You clipped the bush. 4591: It's faster to wobble straight up and then straight left than it is go up and left, but only while in the water, because it slows you down slightly. 5822: Stab the last bush. 5949: You stop wobbling for a split second, but because you're on the stairs it doesn't really matter. 5970: You clip the door. 6207: Go right, it's faster. 6616: You clipped the door. 6867: You want to go diagonally as much as possible here. You don't do so. 6900: You also clip the door here too... 7669: You can get farther away from that key and still pick it up, try getting as close to the door as possible and still pick it up on the first possible frame. Note that the first possible frame is sooner the higher you go up to a point. You move faster than the key falls, so make sure the point that you stand is as low and to the left as possible while still being high enough to collect the key the instant it's grabbable. 7925: You want to go as diagonally as possible here. It's actually possible to avoid the guard by going down for one frame and then down-left for the rest. 7967: You also aren't as far to the right as possible. 8200: You clip that barrier. 9303: Interesting technique, but is it faster? 9600: Same question. 10000: You overshot the stairs. 11000: Manipulate that guard, you can do so by waiting a frame before entering the room. Or saving frames before entering the room. You should try saving frames, because there are quite a few available. 11131: Taking a pot is faster, see my run for details. 11200: Boomerang is unnecessary. 11284: x2?! 11529: You can get the key with the boomerang, you don't have to wait there. Although you move at the same rate as the boomerang, the boomerang has a very large hitbox, and can pick up the key from very far away, so done perfectly the boomerang is faster. 11812: You clip this wall. 11893: You don't get the treasure from the farthest from the right as possible. I stopped watching here. EDIT: Just as a general note before I forget, going straight down or down+left or down+right directly out of stairwell is bad as well. Go two frames directly to the left or the right, otherwise you experience a slowdown as you exit the stairs. Once you move those two frames though you're free to go. My wip I posted shows this trick as well.
