However, it does make a very, very good test on the emulation accuracy of a certain emulator.

Can you make it work in other stages? (I'm thinking of Fireman (probably not possible because of Lava), Cutman (probably possible) and Wily1 (probably possible)) I don't really understand how you did this, though... This is the first time it was succeeded.
I saw him pause for a split second. Are you invincible to spikes when you pause?

The change in acceleration is instantanious. I don't know, I haven't worked it out yet. :)

The fly should avoid colliding with the train at all costs, that means it should deccelerate and turn around and speed back up to 25 mph before the second train and the fly reach eachother.

How about this? There's two trains and a fly. The trains start out 100 miles away from eachother, each going at 25 mph toward their doom. The fly leaves the first train the moment it starts. The fly's initial velocity is 25mph, but it can accelerate (and deccelerate) at 1 mi/hr*s, and has no top speed. How far can the fly go between the trains before it's killed by the two trains colliding into it?

They do work on other walls in that stage. The down and dirty on wall jumps is you have to be exactly 2 units away from a wall and backflip into it, if your sprite changes to a skid then you wait one frame and then jump. If it doesn't change to a skid then you reposistion and try again. It might be the posistion of the bridge block. I've been trying to hack the ROM to remove the block there and test it.

You said you were running this at 6% speed. Have you tried frame advance?

I think it's an intentional easter egg, because you can't kill Sluggy early, but you should have ample oppertunity to, because it's a similar situation (you run up to the boss).

I'm having a bit of trouble with 5-3, the route I planned isn't working out, could anyone with the inclination help me confirm that you can't wall jump off of this wall:

In specific, it's all four directions held down at once. In general you can turn on show input and figure most crazy input glitches out.

Some games require a button to be held down for a certain number of frames, anything running at less than 60 fps, actually. I discovered this when I briefly flirted with the idea of speedrunning Starfox.

If you are Popeye, and can have 30Hz muscle spasms at will, and have inhuman timing, and know the game forwards and backwards, and are very very very lucky, then every movie on this site is possible for you to do. Otherwise, you just need more skillz foo. :)

You're even discounting finite improbability devices with that sort of loony talk.

In Wily 1, you fire the Elecbeam 3 times and hit nothing, you don't collect any powerups later in the stage, and it causes lots of lag.... why?
